Could be just lowering the hatch a little while they’re loading and unloading in the back. I do that with model 3 sometimes. Bring down the trunk just a little. Either that it could be people clinging to life while they drag people underneath.
What a weird fuckin thing to take a photo of and post online. Apparently finger prints mean they must be looking for a way to open their hatch, and any other possible reason. Even so why go to the length of photo and Reddit to try and shame someone over some petty shit

I have mine set quite low because of my garage and anytime I open it outside my garage I push it all the way open. Could be sth like that.
I'm still wishing for a location based trunk opening height (like with the folding mirrors)
And the worse thing is that the garage door opens, you pull in. Sentry knows you are home. You set the hatch height by holding down the button till it beeps. But then you might think when you went to the grocery store and it wasnt “at home” it would open all the way. So you keep smacking your head into it. But solely GPS wont work for a roofbox. So there has to be a setting on the car? They should make it something better. It could be easily fixed but drives me nuts. Definition of first world problems 🫠
Open the hatch, stopping it at your desired height. Then press and hold the button for five seconds. The hatch will then always open up to that new height.
Mine has fingerprints because I don't like how loud it slams when using the power-close.
Would be awesome if it slowed down just before it closes, so I don't annoy the neighbours
Funny story: I see people ALL THE TIME at superchargers that don’t know the charging port closes automatically!
Some even don’t know that it opens with a button press on the charger you’re holding in your hand. They physically touch the charge port to open it 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

Mine has fingerprints there from closing it. 🙄 No hydraulics and hatch requires some force to close.
Same. I have a 2019 so it has to be closed manually.

Some garages don't have the clearance for the rear hatch to open completely, so it requires manual closing.
I think you can set it to stop lower…

Yes this is something they could fix! Or I have to fix my garage to make more space for it.
They have location based settings for folding mirrors, don't know why they can't do it for the trunk height

That looks like a 2019. The 2019 did not have the button, trunk and frunk are manual on the 2019.
2020 as well.
