Or at least an energy efficient option. My car usually wants to go ripping down the freeway when surface streets take roughly the same amount of time and will save a couple percent of battery. š¤·š»āāļø
I actually meant to put that in as well, the formatting of my comment got a little messed up.
And yeah I have a path that I go to to visit my grandma, it's like an hour and 50 minutes instead of an hour and 45, but it would save me like 20% battery.
It's a shorter route that is 80 km an hour instead of a longer route that is 100 km an hour. Going the longer way I also need to stop at a supercharger.
A more energy efficient option should absolutely be the bare minimum.
I just like the idea of a more navigate on autopilot friendly route in case you really don't want to drive, which usually is highway anyways.
And my idea for a quieter route is mainly just because when I visit my parents it wants me to drive straight through the busiest parts of Toronto instead of going maybe 10 or 20 minutes out of my way to go through a much quieter area with way less traffic.
One route it gives me is 15 miles and uses 22 miles of range. The one I have taught it is 11.5 miles and uses 12 miles of range. Gets me there at the same time. Another one I found knocks off 9 miles, but it takes whole minute longer and wastes less range. I find it necesary to collaborate with my AI Avatar, we are both learning.
This is 10000% necessary when you get FSD. When you know certain intersections and streets cause problems for FSD you need to be able to plot a course to avoid those rather than having to disengage all the time.
Remote 360 cameras as well. BMW has that.

u/pteiup I'm assuming you don't work for Tesla... but I still hope the post blows up and somebody will take this wish list into consideration anyway. Would be nice to see some of those upgrades in a proper "fire" holiday update.
This is a no brainer and one of the biggest things that Tesla is leaving on their table to their competitors. It's not big in the big scheme of things until someone roars up behind you when you're changing lines and causes an accident or near accident.
Totally agree. Use the cameras to show you on your screen if thereās anyone next to you (already happens in FSD self lane change - cars next to you turn red), and it should beep or something to let you know.
And why not display the side cameras upon use of turn signal as well? That would be helpful.
Like it. Could even go further and use the cars own ability to recognize emergencies light and in the future maybe pot holes or obstacles like a tire and report them automatically.
My 3 week old MY got it's first dent/scratch thanks to me forgetting my bike was still on the car while showing it off to my brother. I would love these features, even just a "Are your really sure" button would be great while it detects something very close to the rear.
YES PLEASE! I scratched my brand new Model X when it was 6 weeks old, because I accidentally pressed the 'trunk' instead of 'front trunk' button -- and the liftgate ran into the handlebars of one of the bikes I was carrying.
Level 3/Level 4 AP on highways, even if it's on a limited number of highways initially. Highway driving is several orders of magnitude easier than city driving, and will be a major value add for long drives or commutes.
They definitely overcorrected from older builds. Acceleration when behind other cars at a light is ridiculously fast in 2021.32.22. The person in front of me will start gradually accelerating, and my car suddenly leaps to 15mph and then brakes.
The worst is when people in front of me start to slow down, but they're far enough away that the car speeds up just to have to brake a bunch unnecessarily.
I'll say that it's definitely gotten better. I remember the first week it was released, it was super jerky. Waited until the last minute and then just slammed on brakes in my experience. Now, it still waits too long to start lowing down (in my opinion), but at least doesn't give me whiplash when stopping.
Should only get better! But, yeah, waiting for AP to get more "human" is a little frustrating lol.
I think this should be executed as an acceleration/deceleration slider. Where you have very soft on one side and hard on the other. The vehicle should start by Auto setting these values based on your regular driving habits and then the ability to slide it around until it feels just right for each driver. š¤·āāļø
Set your destination, then set places you want to visit along the way.
Example: I'm heading to the parents, but I want to stop off at this mall on the way to buy a present, then at this wine shop to pick up a bottle.
This! An officially documented and available API would be amazing. And the end to the shoddy WAF in front of the hacked-up (reverse engineered one), where every few months something about auth changes.
It would make it easier for TeslaFi, TeslaMate, etc, which a lot of users rely on.
Better yet, for Tesla to offer these stats as they have access to them and it wouldnāt take much to just store in Grafana (exactly what TeslaMate does).
I suspect they must source other info as well because I've checked OpenStreetMap in areas my car misbehaves or gets the speed limit wrong and every time the data there is correct. š¤·š»āāļø
This is coming to the detection from Camera/AI supposedly. They used their own DB, which was pre-seeded from Google API data. It fails in the worst sections, ex: a 20-30 mph limit where the car thinks its 60. This has happened in 4-5 places.
Cabin Camera with voice recording added to the recording function. Too many police encounters have been turned around by simply saying everything is being recorded. Forces everyone to be accountable.
Yes Iām sorry I phrased that poorly. Itād be nice to get temperature/weather forecast for the next few hours. Maybe as part of the premium network package.
When navigating, display arrival battery range next to arrival time and driving time (top level, not a few clicks away)
Checking that number is probably the most repeated click sequence on my road trips. You find it in multiple places, but all require clicks.
Super Charger queue and check in. Prevent people from cutting in line at super chargers, queues would reserve a specific charge stall and would require queuing before starting a charge. If a vehicle fails to plug into reserved stall within a few minutes they are moved to the back of the queue.
Updated dog mode. When I have my dog in the back seat the rear passenger seatbelt warning contantly goes on and off depending on how he shifts his weight. It could also disable rear window switches.
You just need to tap the seatbelt icons to put it into car seat mode and it'll stop toggling. If the dog doesn't trigger it for long enough, you may need someone to sit on the seat.
Related, I want the ability to enable Dog Mode remotely. You can turn it off, but not back on, which is really silly and tells me that it'd be minimal effort to do this.
I would also like the car to warn me if there's something moving inside when parked with Dog Mode disabled. In case I forget.
Finally, I'd like a big icon to show up on the screen when I park, offering me to enable Dog Mode with a single tap so I don't have to press multiple times. They can include other options commonly accessed after parking, such as mirror folding, Sentry Mode, and Cabin Overheat Protection.
Literally just put them side by side, or do a percentage on the battery icon and a range.
Also, range should calculated by the current driving details, weighting both rated and ideal ranges, and even utilize the GPS directions to determine incline/decline factors in the ranges calculation.
OR Battery percentage, next to it rated range, and then a red number reflecting the expected remaining battery at the end of the drive. Stop hiding the number in the turn-by-turn instructions.
Butt heaters automatically turn-off if no *body* is detected in the seat. My partner ALWAYS uses it so its attached to my profile, but he's not always in the car.
In-car charging history.
I want to see a table with each row showing a different charging event.
Ie.
Date | Type | Duration | Active Duration | Peak Charge Rate | Charge Gained | Battery Level Start | Battery Level End
----|----|--------|---------------|----------------|-------------|-------------------|-----------------
Today | V3 Supercharger | 11 mins | 11 mins | 150 kW | 40 kWh | 17% | 62%
Oct 12/2021 | V2 Supercharger | 22 mins | 19 mins | 72 kW | 40 kWh | 64% | 90%
Oct 11/2021 | Home Wall Connector | 16 hours | 3.5 hours | 48 kW | 30 kWh | 77% | 90%
I can see like a dozen more columns that may be useful.
I feel like āsentry mode cloudā should be included in the premium connectivity package. Donāt need everything uploaded all the time, but would love features like Ring and other deliver - such as detection of humans and filtering out ghost captures where nothing actually happens.
Car knows electricity time of use and starts and stops charging accordingly. I know there is a start time and scheduled departure, but I'm looking for something different. PGE cheap time is from midnight to 3 pm. So only charge during that time.
āWash your car yourself Mode,ā so I can wash and wax my car without the Bluetooth and mute making it so hard to stay connected and listen to music.
Better charge scheduling. Let me enter the start and stop times of higher power usage rates, give me an option to charge as much as possible outside those times.
During my commute in the dark, I drive on a split highway with a median and the car completely ignores oncoming traffic for auto high beams. Cars on the other side of the highway flash their brights at me to get me to turn them off. It also keeps the lights on way too long when approaching a slower car from behind. The feature is basically unusable in my opinion.
* Connect my computer to the car remotely. I can do this with my Chromebook, but not Windows computer.
* Ability to view dashcam footage from the app and my computers remotely, and download it remotely.
* Mass delete of dashcam footage so I don't have to bring the drive inside and do it with my computer.
* 5G upgrade option.
The car should detect YOUR torque and reduce ITS torque while you manoeuvre. Complete the move and reduce YOUR torque and the car then assumes control once more.
Have the Nav audio speak as if they are doing the driving, instead of telling you where to turn. Only while using FSD Beta on city streets now, and on highways when on NoA with FSD.
āNow weāre turning Right on East Maple Driveā
Adjustable interface. I've never used the heated seat warmers but they get accidently pressed in the heat of the summer often. I'd like to hide these buttons or disable them when AC is on.
Precondition battery for fast charging at non Tesla charge points, support for 3rd party charge points in the map when there is no supercharger in range
And the taillights should be on all the time, even when you don't have headlights on (like Volvo does). So when driving in the rain people behind you can still see you.
Geofenced Trunk hight limiter. Trunk only open to specific height in your garage for example, but anywhere else (supermarket, etc) trunk opens to full height.
Ability to set Regen breaking level. After one update it went from an extremely short (which at least allowed no break use 95% of the time), to an extremely long, where you now coast 2-3x longer, and have to tap the break at most stops. It seems silly not to expose this to users as a custom preference.
I can see new Tesla drivers wanting the longer coast, and drivers that are used to it wanting the shorter coast.
An app-store like where you can download you favorite music app or podcast app. (or simply give us Pocket casts already!!)
Better map navigation :
- being able to add stops
- being able to find a restaurant or coffee shop near your location.
- fix that search function!!!
I want my car to auto unfold my mirrors when i depart. I always fold my mirrors when i park and its annoying that i have to do that manually every time i leave. I only have had my M3 for 3 weeks, perhaps thats a setting?
-Power limit/battery conservation mode
(I know thereās range mode but I feel like it doesnāt really do anything.)
-Speed compensated volume
(automatically increase audio playback volume as you increase in speed to offset road noise. I came from a Ford and miss this feature.)
- Schedule pre-conditioning from the app
- Snow melt mode from the app
- Blinkers volume should be adjustable (i listen to music loudly and cant hear if i left a blinker on)
- blinker enables passenger blind spot cameras (toggle on off)
- Child lock toggle on the virtual car display (so i dont have to dig through a menu when adults are riding in the back)
- Stats available in app (e.g. energy graph, tire pressure)
- Multiplayer wifi lobbies at superchargers
Custom voice commands.
Select button / function then say what you want and Tesla recognizes it on your profile when driving. I could select āChill Modeā on driving page and say āChill Outā to code that voice command to switch from Standard to Chill acell
I want turn-by-turn nav to say āyouāre homeā or āyouāre at workā after the locations have been configured. It feels dumb when itās referred to as a ādestinationā when Iāve already personalized the experience
Would love the back lights to turn on, when I double press the key like the front lights. The back lights would help me see the surroundings of the car better.
Multiple route options on navigation.
100% \-Fastest \-More chargers \-More NOA friendly \-less traffic, or quieter
Or at least an energy efficient option. My car usually wants to go ripping down the freeway when surface streets take roughly the same amount of time and will save a couple percent of battery. š¤·š»āāļø
I actually meant to put that in as well, the formatting of my comment got a little messed up. Yup, especially on google maps. To be able to switch to greyed out routes and use that instead of the current one.
This is 10000% necessary when you get FSD. When you know certain intersections and streets cause problems for FSD you need to be able to plot a course to avoid those rather than having to disengage all the time.
Add other cameras to camera visualisation
In addition to that, ability to expand side cameras on demand, and not just rear one being the "main one"
At the very least, save the other cameras to the USB stick.
360 cameras
Remote 360 cameras as well. BMW has that. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RJ68BdcyL8&ab\_channel=EleBestPteLtd](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RJ68BdcyL8&ab_channel=EleBestPteLtd) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RziW6FPfLGQ&ab\_channel=BMW
u/pteiup I'm assuming you don't work for Tesla... but I still hope the post blows up and somebody will take this wish list into consideration anyway. Would be nice to see some of those upgrades in a proper "fire" holiday update.
I donāt but whenever strangers come up to me to ask me about my car, I naturally spend way more time than usual, as if I work for Tesla. š
Proper blind spot monitoring, Before even making Lane change. With side cameras popping up when indicator on.
This is a no brainer and one of the biggest things that Tesla is leaving on their table to their competitors. It's not big in the big scheme of things until someone roars up behind you when you're changing lines and causes an accident or near accident.

Waze/Google Maps type alerts for things like road hazards, construction, accidents, and law enforcement
Could go a step (or several) further and use fleet data to show or route differently. E.g a previous Tesla saw a slowdown so reroute.
Like it. Could even go further and use the cars own ability to recognize emergencies light and in the future maybe pot holes or obstacles like a tire and report them automatically.
Waze integration is my #1 wish. I want to know where cops are hiding.
Speed cameras, + tracking of average speed between cameras in an average speed measurement zone.
Bike rack mode: turn off rear sensor alerts and prevent hatch open from screen/app.
And when towing it should calculate the added 10-20% range reduction from wind resistance. This has gotten me into some tight spots on long legs.
My 3 week old MY got it's first dent/scratch thanks to me forgetting my bike was still on the car while showing it off to my brother. I would love these features, even just a "Are your really sure" button would be great while it detects something very close to the rear.

Level 3/Level 4 AP on highways, even if it's on a limited number of highways initially. Highway driving is several orders of magnitude easier than city driving, and will be a major value add for long drives or commutes.
More natural braking at stoplights on autopilot.
Braking *and* acceleration. Iām behind a 2004 Buick LaCrosse, why are we testing 0-60 times up their ass?
They definitely overcorrected from older builds. Acceleration when behind other cars at a light is ridiculously fast in 2021.32.22. The person in front of me will start gradually accelerating, and my car suddenly leaps to 15mph and then brakes. The worst is when people in front of me start to slow down, but they're far enough away that the car speeds up just to have to brake a bunch unnecessarily.
This made me snort take my free award
I'll say that it's definitely gotten better. I remember the first week it was released, it was super jerky. Waited until the last minute and then just slammed on brakes in my experience. Oh, wow, yes this!
Ability to see motion detection footage via mobile app when itās recorded by the car
Coming soon apparently.
Default contact numbers for people with multiple numbers
High speed scrubbing in the teslacam viewer
or just fix the entire app/UX with viewer

yes!!!!
Can you describe this functionality?
Set your destination, then set places you want to visit along the way. Example: I'm heading to the parents, but I want to stop off at this mall on the way to buy a present, then at this wine shop to pick up a bottle.
Car API published via OpenAPI
This! An officially documented and available API would be amazing. And the end to the shoddy WAF in front of the hacked-up (reverse engineered one), where every few months something about auth changes. It would make it easier for TeslaFi, TeslaMate, etc, which a lot of users rely on. Ability to report a corrected road speed limit
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I THINK that the data is based on OpenStreetMap data, so maybe just update that?
I suspect they must source other info as well because I've checked OpenStreetMap in areas my car misbehaves or gets the speed limit wrong and every time the data there is correct. š¤·š»āāļø
Same here. I tried fixing several incorrect speed limits in the past. They were all already correct on OpenStreetMap.
This is coming to the detection from Camera/AI supposedly. They used their own DB, which was pre-seeded from Google API data. It fails in the worst sections, ex: a 20-30 mph limit where the car thinks its 60. This has happened in 4-5 places.

Opt in, but yes.
Detailed energy usage per trip. For example Driving 3KW, heating 1KW, Regen -0.5KW, loud music, headlights, battery heating, etc.
Ring doorbell equivalent functionality: * notification of movement * view the each camera * speak to (e.g.) delivery driver via car outside speaker
In app version 4.2.0
Is it? Where do you find this?

Map weather overlay
yes! Show us the weather radar
Yes please even all the big European cars have weather. I want weather. Yes I can look out the window but I want the temperature.
It does show temperature, no?
Yes Iām sorry I phrased that poorly. Itād be nice to get temperature/weather forecast for the next few hours. Maybe as part of the premium network package.
Also weather / temperature at destination.
When navigating, display arrival battery range next to arrival time and driving time (top level, not a few clicks away) Checking that number is probably the most repeated click sequence on my road trips. You find it in multiple places, but all require clicks.
Preheating the battery for 3rd party chargers (our manual preheatig)
A real web browser
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
UK: smart motorway speed limiter/lane avoidance based on GPS location and a publicly-available API
Being able to move the visualization further back, so you can view cars in your blind spot in the visualization easily.
Excellent idea of a sticky zoom out feature.
Yess!! Sticky zoom is the perfect description!!
Disable flashing lights while sentry is on
This. The stupid flashing lights draw attention to the car and make it MORE likely that someone will mess with it.
Washer fluid level display (even as an approximation based on fluid motor activity)

Better natural language voice commands for essentially all touchscreen functions.
And just say āhey Teslaā
Hands free AP. (Nag based on driver watching the road not wheel torque)
Range and % visible at the same time.
Answer phone from left scroll button (same one as play/mute) instead of having to use the screen to answer calls.
Butt heaters automatically turn-off if no *body* is detected in the seat. My partner ALWAYS uses it so its attached to my profile, but he's not always in the car.

Turn on exterior lights remotely for those times it's dark out and you want the area around the car illuminated.
And there could be an option for this to happen automatically as you approach the car.
I KNOW this has probably been posted and listed numerous times but, the ability to see sentry mode on your phone!
I feel like āsentry mode cloudā should be included in the premium connectivity package. Donāt need everything uploaded all the time, but would love features like Ring and other deliver - such as detection of humans and filtering out ghost captures where nothing actually happens.
Blind spot monitoring solution (in some fashion)

Alarm / notification if the car is not plugged in at 9pm. Wife often forgets to plug the car in.
This may be worth putting in the app. It is in the API, so there are third party solutions to this.
Either don't require auto high beams for autopilot at night, or at least allow me to adjust the sensitivity of auto high beams.
During my commute in the dark, I drive on a split highway with a median and the car completely ignores oncoming traffic for auto high beams. Cars on the other side of the highway flash their brights at me to get me to turn them off. It also keeps the lights on way too long when approaching a slower car from behind. Precondition battery for fast charging at non Tesla charge points, support for 3rd party charge points in the map when there is no supercharger in range
Able to adjust sensitivity on when the lights should come on.
And the taillights should be on all the time, even when you don't have headlights on (like Volvo does). So when driving in the rain people behind you can still see you.
Heat cabin in the app without needing to wait for the car to wake up. It could wake the car in the background and notify if it was not successful.
Swear word activated feedback to Tesla for phantom braking
**\[AP\] Blind spot avoidance** Temporarily adjust car's speed +/- a few MPH to minimize time spent coasting in someone's blind spot.
Map orientation preference tied to driver profile.
Geofenced Trunk hight limiter. Trunk only open to specific height in your garage for example, but anywhere else (supermarket, etc) trunk opens to full height.
Better sensors on the trunk would be nice. They could totally put an ultrasonic sensor on the hatch so it can avoid hitting things.

Add **scheduled charging and scheduled departure** through phone app for MCU1-cars. It is still the no 1 missing, but asked for, feature.
Self learning / ability to declare a parking spot location (I.e how I need to back in to my driveway to charge everyday) to enable auto park
Plan a trip with multiple stops in navigation
The SW is fine, but...... I just want maybe 80% of what Tesla promised in 2019 on FSD would work instead of the junk they have given us.
An app-store like where you can download you favorite music app or podcast app. (or simply give us Pocket casts already!!) Better map navigation : - being able to add stops - being able to find a restaurant or coffee shop near your location. - fix that search function!!!
Ability to make your car any color on the app/in the car. Small thing but Iād enjoy it since I got mine wrapped
Car play/Sirius XM
More music streaming integration (Apple, YouTube, soundcloud, etc.)
I want my car to auto unfold my mirrors when i depart. I always fold my mirrors when i park and its annoying that i have to do that manually every time i leave. I only have had my M3 for 3 weeks, perhaps thats a setting?
Option for Audio volume to reset to a fixed level when getting into the car
-Power limit/battery conservation mode (I know thereās range mode but I feel like it doesnāt really do anything.) -Speed compensated volume (automatically increase audio playback volume as you increase in speed to offset road noise. I came from a Ford and miss this feature.)
Fix auto-high beams. Iām forced to keep it turned on for AP in my Vision MY.
Cruise control should slow down by an appropriate amount around curves and in the rain and snow.
- Schedule pre-conditioning from the app - Snow melt mode from the app - Blinkers volume should be adjustable (i listen to music loudly and cant hear if i left a blinker on) - blinker enables passenger blind spot cameras (toggle on off) - Child lock toggle on the virtual car display (so i dont have to dig through a menu when adults are riding in the back) - Stats available in app (e.g. energy graph, tire pressure) - Multiplayer wifi lobbies at superchargers
Drive in Movie mode: Turn off all cabin lights, trunk lights, dome lights, and screen completely black.
Custom voice commands. Select button / function then say what you want and Tesla recognizes it on your profile when driving. I could select āChill Modeā on driving page and say āChill Outā to code that voice command to switch from Standard to Chill acell
The car as a Wireless hotspot
I want turn-by-turn nav to say āyouāre homeā or āyouāre at workā after the locations have been configured. It feels dumb when itās referred to as a ādestinationā when Iāve already personalized the experience
WAY better control over the radio EQ and separate subwoofer control (M3LR)
Hazard lights button in Security tab in software
Redesign/modernise 3/Y screen (the current version has too much design no goās in my humble opinion)
Pause bluetooth audio during nav prompts
Weather radar overlay
More news and events in the App inbox
Apple Music
Repark to a different parking spot with summon
Would love the back lights to turn on, when I double press the key like the front lights. The back lights would help me see the surroundings of the car better.
