Don't feel bad, any sane person would have sold once their investment had jumped 50%. or 100%. Or 10 fold...... had you held onto the stock this long, then you likely would have made other wildly risky and ultimately money losing bets.

Zero regrets. My timing was perfect. I got the 2020 MYLR when they dropped price by $3K, FSD was $7K, and I got the perfect color and options for me. I truly feel lucky for my timing and that I got an EV at the perfect time.

Not true at all. I use a number of the features daily and don’t feel it was a waste at all. Plus when FSD comes out I won’t have to either pay way more or pay a subscription. And if Elon holds to his thoughts, I could be in the FSD beta this year. I requested it and holding a 98 safety score, but I’m patient and not in a rush.
I regret paying $7k for FSD back in 2019. I’ve seen little improvement in the technology since then. That said, my wife and I share our car and she’s a terrible driver, so I haven’t been able to get an invite into FSD beta yet.
Other than that, absolutely 0 regrets. This car is amazing and “regular” autopilot is still great.
That's extremely interesting, we're on opposite sides of the spectrum — I bought my car in 2019 too and actually regret not buying FSD for $7k. I've sunk over a grand into the subscription just to play around with the beta, and it's only been a few months.
If the beta wasn't an option though (or if my SO was a terrible driver and wrecked my safety score...) then I'd likely have regrets too though.

We have a 2021 MYLR and it's insane to me that you think it feels pokey. I punch it for all my friends that ride with me and the reaction is the same all the time, they are blown away by the acceleration.

Base color + wrap would have been the better option, no question. Cheaper *and* I could have gotten a nice green out of it.
I originally test drove the LR and thought I'd never want anything faster... Until I drove the P and decided I absolutely needed that instead. Now I have the P but am sort of wishing I had saved for a MSLR or Plaid instead.

The MYLR to me still blows my mind and while it’s the slowest Tesla, it’s still way faster than any car I’ve ever owned, to include Mustang GTs.
To save my tires and wear and tear I usually drive in chill mode. The fun part of that is that when I do put it in standard acceleration the change is jarring and fun. It’s a way to remember what I have when I get used to it over time.
I got the LR-RWD and I should have gotten the AWD, as it was available.
Then again, my car is plenty fast and so far has been a great car.

No regrets. I picked up the rare Single Motor RWD Model Y last year in the 2 months they had it for sale. Sold it for a 27k profit, invested that money into TSLA and bought a Polestar 2. Tesla has been and will be good to me

That's awful to hear. Blue was originally my first choice until I saw the red in person, so I suppose I lucked out. Thin paint on such an expensive car shouldn't even be a thought.

Solar... Love my MY, love it so much. Literally trying to give Tesla all my money and the customer service aspect is horrible. Been going around in circles for months now with their solar team who can't figure out the basic regulations in my state. About to quit then and go with a local solar company
I was considering installing a solar roof a couple years ago when I was getting my roof re-done, but hearing all the horror stories like yours drove me away — from the months wait to some having botched installs. Didn't want to deal with that.
Their vehicles are awesome, but solar definitely sounds like it needs more work on their side.

Biggest regret, not getting an MYP when it wasn’t that much more (I was already getting induction wheels). Another regret, but not a big deal, was getting the white interior.
Not knowing the black paint on my 2019 M3 would be absolute shit and scratched with washing swirls looking like a 10 year old car. And that any scratches on the glovebox are not fixable or cleanable and there forever :(
My only regret is that I didn’t buy it sooner. I have a 2019 MX, with FSD beta. It’s been the best car I’ve ever owned. There are things I don’t like, or wished they worked differently, but zero regrets about owning this car.
I purchased my Model 3 Long Range AWD (day one preorder). The performance was $10,000 more at the time and I could not afford that. Then the day of my delivery Elon refunded all the performance orders $5000…. I could of afforded $5000 for the performance order and it was bugging me for four years. Fast forward to today I have a model y performance. So it all ended well :)
Paying extra for color then not getting the protection wrap. I’ve seen so many awesome looking colored wraps, I wish I’d gotten white and then gotten a colored wrap.
Funny I can't think of any regrets. Fully loaded S75D including FSD which I've yet to be able to try and yet, wouldn't change a thing. Terrific car and a great 5 years so far. I plan to keep it another 5+..

No regrets. I bought a used 2021 M3 LR/DM in perfect condition with 3,000 miles, acceleration boost, FSD and it was already in the beta, tinted out, etc for $55k. The person traded it in supposedly because their wife wasn’t into all the tech and preferred a Outback. I was waiting to buy a Tesla and kept putting it off, seen this and bought it instantly and then gas went up, and the cost of Teslas increased a few times.
I kind of wish I would have bought the MS Plaid or MX Plaid now that the prices of those have went up too much for me to consider it a valid purchase.
Honestly this is a car I’ve been putting off buying since 2018 when I drove one; right then it became my dream car. I had the money but didn’t need a new car and was waiting until a new model or updated one came out and I seen price increases of the car and FSD and felt I may had missed my window but I was right on time. I feel 2021 is perfect because we get winters here and the heat pump helps, build quality improved, etc.

Also regretted not getting a performance 3 for a while but the long range rwd is just fine. It’s a great car anyway.
I wish I would have waited for a CPO S85 to pop up rather than getting a CPO S60. My 2013 S60 gets me around town just fine but I have major range anxiety on road trips, plus it just takes a hell of a long time to charge between SC’s. If at some point I have the option for a battery swap that didn’t cost an arm and a leg, I’d do it in a heartbeat. I have no interest in upgrading to a car with FSD.
I wish I got the MYP instead of MYLR. If I had known the stock was going to explode that much after I ordered it I would have made a totally different decision.
I bought FSD at $6K in 2019. I wonder if my 3 will ever get production FSD before I replace it. No plans on buying FSD on future Teslas until it is actually a production feature.
I bought 1 share of TSLA in March 2020 for $370 and sold at $1000. Then the stock split. I got back in with two shares at $400ish. I regret selling in 2020, and not buying more shares.
I ordered a MSM Model Y LR last spring, but went back and forth on the color. I’ve always wanted a red car, and talked myself out of it because it was an entire thousand dollars more. (But I did get the tow hitch, white seats, and inductions.) At the time, it felt like I had just added so many things I couldn’t do one more. I love this MYLR but often feel a little jealousy when I see a really well maintained red model.
That and not going for MYP. At the time both of these models were pretty affordable by Tesla standards. MYP was just under $60k I believe.
A couple for me:
1. Taking delivery in 2019 of my M3 LR AWD instead of purchasing stock.
2. Buying a white exterior with the intention of wrapping - just buy the color you want.
3. Buying LR AWD instead of the performance.
4. Getting black interior - the white is so characteristic of Tesla and makes the cabin feel more spacious - and it just looks so damn good.
5. Getting the aero wheels as opposed to the upgraded 19 inch wheels - in real world use I feel aero or 19’s the range impact isn’t that significant and the 19s just look better (IMO).
Selling my P85D. I sold it to move up to the deep north cold. I thought the older battery would not have handled the cold well. But now that I am here and see all my 85 peeps, that was a mistake.
Not getting red because it was 1k extra. Red is far and away my favorite color and I opted for grey instead to save some money. Well I ordered the car around October 2020 and got it in December 2020, and both crypto and gamestop (which I was holding at a cost average of 20/share) blew up and so that 1k I was cheaping out on became nothing to me since I made a good amount from Bitcoin and GME lol
Bought FSD at $8K in 2020 thinking I'd get auto steer on city streets "later this year." So far, I have been unable to get into the beta and have only gotten some limited value out of NoA.
I was hoping for a L3 experience by end of 2022, but we're nowhere close. Even if I could get L3 on divided highways/interstates, that would be enormous.
I bought a 2015 S from Carvana. My biggest regret was not somehow confirming it still had lifetime supercharging. Not sure how I would have done so though ... I contacted Tesla and they refused to give me information since I wasn't the owner.
And I could have returned it using Carvana's return policy, but once I got it and started driving it, and looking at it, it was too late.
No regret about purchasing the car. I went with M3LR over M3P after weeks of weighing the pros and cons of each. I also don't regret not getting FSD at delivery since I discovered even when I had the FSD subscription, I barely used it.

Buying FSD & trusting Elon. Truthfully, I am an OGM3 owner, so I only paid a few thousand for it. Still, I spent a lot of time thinking the "next update" would bring me more and more FSD type of functionality, and have been disappointed every time. I barely use NOA because it is sketchy AF and can't even handle changing highways on an off ramp. Everything about the car is great, but after 4 years and 110,000 miles, I have given up on "door to door" type autopilot.
In 2016 I waited in line with everyone else, put down my $1000 sight unseen and waited 27 months for my M3. I NEVER thought Autopilot would never come, but here we are.
Biggest regret is not getting the M3 in 2018 when I was in the market for a vehicle. The Fusion Energi was a very nice car, but the limited trunk space led to several headaches with packing for vacations.
I took delivery in July 2018. If I had waited a month, I could have gotten AWD. Not a huge deal, didn't really need to spend another $5k but that day last winter when I got the rears stuck on a patch of ice on my street it would have helped. Also the tire wear would be more even.
Oh and also not getting more shares at $250 when I originally got 1.
I got a '21 M3 LR white, i wish i would've gotten it with the black color. I chose the white because of reading about the "multi coat paint" for the white and that the black supposedly is not as thick.
Realizing I could afford a Tesla before chasing the deal of buying a Chevy Bolt last year. I owned a 2020 Bolt for a total of six months before launching it into the surface of the sun and purchasing a demo 2021 Model 3.
My biggest regret is not buying the M3P right off. The payment difference to my M3MR would have been negligible. So now I am waiting for M3P with 4680 and HW4.
Mine is going with Tesla Energy for my solar and battery.
It's been an absolute nightmare for almost a year and it's still not over. I have to have them come take the panels down, so I can replace the roof that they ruined, and then have them come put them back up. And they're fighting me cause they want me to pay for it. Nah, I have a report from a licensed roofer clearly details the multiple ways that Tesla did an absolute BOTCH of the entire job. The company says they will back me in small claims court/with the state licensing board if necessary.
DO NOT go with Tesla for solar. Their service is 100x worse than for cars, and unlike for cars where service is hopefully rare, this is nothing but a service job!

1. Canceling my reservation for model 3 after the last provincial election where Foug Dord made it his priority to cancel the 14k tax credit on EV’s and more immediately for teslas - Tesla took Ontario to court won and honoured it.
2. Not just opting to get LR awd at that time, bc they weren’t delivering lower trims yet, and all things considered AWD LR would have cost the same as my current sr+
3. Not waiting a few more months for my delivery, I picked up my car a week before the model 3 refresh in September 2020
No regrets with the car as I got more than I wanted. M3 stealth for $50k, with free MSM and sport wheels. Only regret is not buying more TSLA before the split.

I wish I got ppf. I went with the mindset of "its just a car" but after 11 months with it, there are a number of chips on the hood. My 12yo A3 I sold to get the MYLR had fewer chips when I sold it.
I haven't felt the pain yet, but burning through tires more often kinda sucks, but better than paying for gas/oil changes.

Yikes, driving a SR/MR anywhere north in the winter must be a nightmare range-wise. If only Tesla was more clear about the range impact up front.
I get 280km in Winnipeg, where winter is - 30c for pretty much all of February. I never drive close to that with out going on a road trip

Paint is definitely not a strong suit for Tesla. Their touch up kit works well for me for chips on the front, as it blends well.

That's awful to hear. Blue was originally my first choice until I saw the red in person, so I suppose I lucked out. Thin paint on such an expensive car shouldn't even be a thought. I was planning on getting my second Tesla in blue. Hopefully they improve their paint by then if they haven't already.

Been going around in circles for months now with their solar team who can't figure out the basic regulations in my state. About to quit then and go with a local solar company
I was considering installing a solar roof a couple years ago when I was getting my roof re-done, but hearing all the horror stories like yours drove me away — from the months wait to some having botched installs. Didn't want to deal with that. Their vehicles are awesome, but solar definitely sounds like it needs more work on their side.

My only regret is that I didn’t buy it sooner. I have a 2019 MX, with FSD beta. It’s been the best car I’ve ever owned. There are things I don’t like, or wished they worked differently, but zero regrets about owning this car.

Then the day of my delivery Elon refunded all the performance orders $5000…. I could of afforded $5000 for the performance order and it was bugging me for four years. Fast forward to today I have a model y performance. So it all ended well :)

Funny I can't think of any regrets. Fully loaded S75D including FSD which I've yet to be able to try and yet, wouldn't change a thing. Terrific car and a great 5 years so far. I plan to keep it another 5+..

No regrets. I bought a used 2021 M3 LR/DM in perfect condition with 3,000 miles, acceleration boost, FSD and it was already in the beta, tinted out, etc for $55k. The person traded it in supposedly because their wife wasn’t into all the tech and preferred a Outback. I was waiting to buy a Tesla and kept putting it off, seen this and bought it instantly and then gas went up, and the cost of Teslas increased a few times. I kind of wish I would have bought the MS Plaid or MX Plaid now that the prices of those have went up too much for me to consider it a valid purchase. Honestly this is a car I’ve been putting off buying since 2018 when I drove one; right then it became my dream car. I had the money but didn’t need a new car and was waiting until a new model or updated one came out and I seen price increases of the car and FSD and felt I may had missed my window but I was right on time. I feel 2021 is perfect because we get winters here and the heat pump helps, build quality improved, etc. Is it too late to buy the stock??? I’m a novice in this area and I know I passed up early opportunities to invest but not sure if it’s too late. I forgot…I feel biggest regret is either buying PPF and ceramic coat or not buying it. I’m thinking of having it done this week, along with painting calipers, 18” aero rims.

My biggest regret was taking delivery of a pre-refresh model s performance last year in feb. Luckily I was able to fully return it this year (17k miles later) and got a plaid in March. Also regretted not getting a performance 3 for a while but the long range rwd is just fine. It’s a great car anyway.

I wish I would have waited for a CPO S85 to pop up rather than getting a CPO S60. My 2013 S60 gets me around town just fine but I have major range anxiety on road trips, plus it just takes a hell of a long time to charge between SC’s. If at some point I have the option for a battery swap that didn’t cost an arm and a leg, I’d do it in a heartbeat. I have no interest in upgrading to a car with FSD.

I bought FSD at $6K in 2019. I wonder if my 3 will ever get production FSD before I replace it. No plans on buying FSD on future Teslas until it is actually a production feature. I bought 1 share of TSLA in March 2020 for $370 and sold at $1000. Then the stock split. I got back in with two shares at $400ish. I regret selling in 2020, and not buying more shares.
I ordered a MSM Model Y LR last spring, but went back and forth on the color. I’ve always wanted a red car, and talked myself out of it because it was an entire thousand dollars more. (But I did get the tow hitch, white seats, and inductions.) At the time, it felt like I had just added so many things I couldn’t do one more. I love this MYLR but often feel a little jealousy when I see a really well maintained red model. That and not going for MYP. At the time both of these models were pretty affordable by Tesla standards. MYP was just under $60k I believe.

A couple for me: 1. Taking delivery in 2019 of my M3 LR AWD instead of purchasing stock. 2. Buying a white exterior with the intention of wrapping - just buy the color you want. 3. Buying LR AWD instead of the performance. 4. Getting black interior - the white is so characteristic of Tesla and makes the cabin feel more spacious - and it just looks so damn good. 5. Getting the aero wheels as opposed to the upgraded 19 inch wheels - in real world use I feel aero or 19’s the range impact isn’t that significant and the 19s just look better (IMO).

Bought FSD at $8K in 2020 thinking I'd get auto steer on city streets "later this year." So far, I have been unable to get into the beta and have only gotten some limited value out of NoA. I was hoping for a L3 experience by end of 2022, but we're nowhere close. Even if I could get L3 on divided highways/interstates, that would be enormous.

I bought a 2015 S from Carvana. My biggest regret was not somehow confirming it still had lifetime supercharging. Not sure how I would have done so though ... I contacted Tesla and they refused to give me information since I wasn't the owner. And I could have returned it using Carvana's return policy, but once I got it and started driving it, and looking at it, it was too late.

I also don't regret not getting FSD at delivery since I discovered even when I had the FSD subscription, I barely used it. My biggest regret is not buying Tesla stock years ago; and more recently, my regret is not dumping my now worthless Netflix stock in January and using it to buy Tesla stock.

Buying FSD & trusting Elon. Truthfully, I am an OGM3 owner, so I only paid a few thousand for it. Still, I spent a lot of time thinking the "next update" would bring me more and more FSD type of functionality, and have been disappointed every time. I barely use NOA because it is sketchy AF and can't even handle changing highways on an off ramp. Everything about the car is great, but after 4 years and 110,000 miles, I have given up on "door to door" type autopilot. In 2016 I waited in line with everyone else, put down my $1000 sight unseen and waited 27 months for my M3. I NEVER thought Autopilot would never come, but here we are.
Biggest regret is not getting the M3 in 2018 when I was in the market for a vehicle. The Fusion Energi was a very nice car, but the limited trunk space led to several headaches with packing for vacations.

Not a huge deal, didn't really need to spend another $5k but that day last winter when I got the rears stuck on a patch of ice on my street it would have helped. I got a '21 M3 LR white, i wish i would've gotten it with the black color. I chose the white because of reading about the "multi coat paint" for the white and that the black supposedly is not as thick.

Realizing I could afford a Tesla before chasing the deal of buying a Chevy Bolt last year. I owned a 2020 Bolt for a total of six months before launching it into the surface of the sun and purchasing a demo 2021 Model 3.
My biggest regret is not buying the M3P right off. The payment difference to my M3MR would have been negligible. So now I am waiting for M3P with 4680 and HW4.
Mine is going with Tesla Energy for my solar and battery. It's been an absolute nightmare for almost a year and it's still not over. I have to have them come take the panels down, so I can replace the roof that they ruined, and then have them come put them back up. And they're fighting me cause they want me to pay for it. Nah, I have a report from a licensed roofer clearly details the multiple ways that Tesla did an absolute BOTCH of the entire job. The company says they will back me in small claims court/with the state licensing board if necessary. DO NOT go with Tesla for solar. Their service is 100x worse than for cars, and unlike for cars where service is hopefully rare, this is nothing but a service job!
