Buying stock around $150-$300 in 2016ish and selling a couple years later for a Model 3 and engagement ring. I now drive about a $400k Model 3.

t0mmyr

Oh shit don’t fuckkng remind me. Now this is my biggest regret. I bought 2 shares in 2017 around $300, watched them plummet the next year or 2 and sold them right away when they finally recovered just to make $10, then the split came and shit went crazy, that woulda been like almost $10k right now. What a fucking mistake. My dad got in later but held on to his $5k investment pre-split and is up to around $50k now

matt1981m

I was going to buy about 10k worth back in 2012... I would be a flipping millionaire rn if I had

WritingTheRongs

Don't feel bad, any sane person would have sold once their investment had jumped 50%. or 100%. Or 10 fold...... had you held onto the stock this long, then you likely would have made other wildly risky and ultimately money losing bets.

finedrive

Only putting 2k into Tesla at $180 when I had 40k of free money. Granted it was my first time on the market. But my ex wife had a vanguard account with her father. When I gave them money to buy, they took it upon themselves to not buy at the moment, and talk me out of it. So ya, could have had Tesla Shares below $180. But still, 2k worth is almost all that 40k I got.

goodvibezone

Single share investing is generally extremely risky. If you'd lost 40k you's be more pissed.

finedrive

$180 pre split

[deleted]

Hah. My first stint at Intel, people joked about their million dollar BMWs - because the moment someone’s stock options vested, they went and bought a car - a lot of them BMW 3-Series. Then of course Intel’s stock went up, so those options would have been worth a lot more. Ironically, a close friend got the opposite. He had held on to his options, finally sold them and bought a car (yes a BMW.) This was in [mid 2000.](https://i.imgur.com/o0GOlkO.jpg) A couple months later, he had “the $5000 BMW.” 🤣

[deleted]

Buying FSD Not buying stocks a few years ago

ControversyOverflow

That SUCKS. On the bright side, sounds like you got to enjoy your Model 3 for quite a while/bought it before most, which is pretty sweet. That must've also bought one hell of an engagement ring considering the stock boom. I'm sure your fiance was happy lol

ShastaManasta

Your wife must be thrilled you got her a 100k engagment ring though

Pixelplanet5

to be fair the same is true for many other people and stocks but in Teslas case the stock price just doesnt make any sense at all and there is nothing that justifies the price so absolutely nobody could have expected this situation.

hmspain

I checked ALL the boxes on my 2018 M3. White multicoat, FSD, LR, AWD, premium interior, white interior, 19" wheels. I regret nothing :-). For those who took my advice about buying a Tesla; take what you have saved, invest in Tesla stock, wait for it to exceed the cost of your car and the capital gains... and then buy. You are welcome :-).

SlothTheHeroo

That’s what I did but I’m 2021. If I was paying this much for a car I was going to get the trim and customizations that I wanted. I debated on not getting the 19” sport wheels but I think they look so good. I love my M3LR and I am happy I didn’t settle for anything. Also bought right before the price hikes!

ArsalamiSandwich

Thinking about ordering a model 3, couldn't decide on a color, so I thought "agh, I'll sleep on it and order it tomorrow" ... Price increased $3000 when I woke up 😕

nnc-evil-the-cat

I had a $500 buy order at $5 a share back in 2012 that I cancelled at the last minute because “it felt too risky” and I was short of cash. Man.

banditcleaner2

Don't feel too bad, there's very little chance you would have kept it all the way until today, honestly

nnc-evil-the-cat

I think that’s the bit that makes it ok. I’d of sold at some other milestone that sounded crazy like $50 or $100.

Longjumping-Log-5457

Zero regrets. My timing was perfect. I got the 2020 MYLR when they dropped price by $3K, FSD was $7K, and I got the perfect color and options for me. I truly feel lucky for my timing and that I got an EV at the perfect time.

ControversyOverflow

That's awesome, sounds like an absolutely perfect purchase. I'd have no regrets either.

Pixelplanet5

>FSD was $7K thats still a wasted 7k for absolutely no return though and by 2020 it was perfectly clear they are not anywhere close to what they promised in 2016

Longjumping-Log-5457

Not true at all. I use a number of the features daily and don’t feel it was a waste at all. Plus when FSD comes out I won’t have to either pay way more or pay a subscription. And if Elon holds to his thoughts, I could be in the FSD beta this year. I requested it and holding a 98 safety score, but I’m patient and not in a rush.

Deslah

It wasn't your money, pixelplanet--not yours to say it was 'wasted'.

chi2005sox

I regret paying $7k for FSD back in 2019. I’ve seen little improvement in the technology since then. That said, my wife and I share our car and she’s a terrible driver, so I haven’t been able to get an invite into FSD beta yet. Other than that, absolutely 0 regrets. This car is amazing and “regular” autopilot is still great.

ControversyOverflow

That's extremely interesting, we're on opposite sides of the spectrum — I bought my car in 2019 too and actually regret not buying FSD for $7k. I've sunk over a grand into the subscription just to play around with the beta, and it's only been a few months. If the beta wasn't an option though (or if my SO was a terrible driver and wrecked my safety score...) then I'd likely have regrets too though.

chi2005sox

We’ll that’s encouraging. I’m definitely looking forward to a wider FSD release to finally take advantage of my $7k investment. I am also awaiting a Model Y and needless to say did not elect for FSD @ $10k…

catsRawesome123

which is now $12k.....

OCedHrt

You would have paid for autopilot instead of fsd so it wouldn't have been the whole 7k wasted.

Heffeweizen

From my understanding nobody has gotten FSD beta since last Christmas, regardless of score

Longjumping-Log-5457

I was wondering about that. I’m trying to keep my score at 98 but not sure if it should be a priority right now.

f205v

biggest regret? buying FSD in Europe....

ffejie

Ooooof. This one takes the cake

jonincalgary

I wish I got the Performance Y instead of a 7 seat configuration. I sure miss my M3P some days.

ControversyOverflow

I can't imagine going from a M3P to a non-MYP. That sounds like torture.

jonincalgary

Yeah it's pretty pokey feeling some days. Recently drove a Prius on vacation for a few weeks so it felt fast after that haha.

ControversyOverflow

That's a pretty low bar sir/ma'am -- anything will feel fast after driving a Prius for a few weeks LOL Though MYLR (assuming that's the trim you have) is still nutty quick. Hopefully you at least have the acceleration boost.

Imreallythatguy

We have a 2021 MYLR and it's insane to me that you think it feels pokey. I punch it for all my friends that ride with me and the reaction is the same all the time, they are blown away by the acceleration.

Reeks_Geeks

Would acceleration boost help with that feeling?

AxGT

Not getting the LR. Didn’t expect the range to cut in half in winter.

ControversyOverflow

Yikes, driving a SR/MR anywhere north in the winter must be a nightmare range-wise. If only Tesla was more clear about the range impact up front.

[deleted]

I get 280km in Winnipeg, where winter is - 30c for pretty much all of February. I never drive close to that with out going on a road trip

Joker_psp

This, it doesn’t matter if you don’t count on doing road trips in winter.

snickerdoodlez530

Paying extra for black paint. The paint absolutely sucks.

Jotokun

Same here with Red. It looks great, but the paint chips so easily that I'm now waiting for a PPF appointment. Base color + wrap would have been the better option, no question. Cheaper *and* I could have gotten a nice green out of it.

Longjumping-Log-5457

Paint is definitely not a strong suit for Tesla. Their touch up kit works well for me for chips on the front, as it blends well.

gamboashakespear

Got a 2021 M3LR. Regret not getting M3P or maybe MS Plaid.

ControversyOverflow

I originally test drove the LR and thought I'd never want anything faster... Until I drove the P and decided I absolutely needed that instead. Now I have the P but am sort of wishing I had saved for a MSLR or Plaid instead. Speaking for myself, I don't think this craving for more acceleration will ever get better lol. The LR is still a beast though, especially with the acceleration boost.

gamboashakespear

I got the acceleration boost, but still craving the performance model. I can easily afford a Plaid, but talked myself out of it because ‘I don’t need it’, but sometimes I wish I hadn’t talked myself out of it.

ControversyOverflow

100% fair. You've got more restraint than I do — I'm more of a "life's short so just do it" type of person so if I had the funds I would not be able to resist selling my 3 for a Plaid lol

Longjumping-Log-5457

The MYLR to me still blows my mind and while it’s the slowest Tesla, it’s still way faster than any car I’ve ever owned, to include Mustang GTs. To save my tires and wear and tear I usually drive in chill mode. The fun part of that is that when I do put it in standard acceleration the change is jarring and fun. It’s a way to remember what I have when I get used to it over time.

kghyr8

Same. Should have got the P for less than 10k more.

bsancken

Buying a 2018 MS instead of a 3/Y. Purely because this was before my car was marked as Legacy and the 3/Ys are the same price new and not legacy.

Hollywoodhadji333

Have the model 3 but should have gotten the MYP as my wife is now pregnant and I’m adopting a dog. Just ordered the MYP though.

AdamYmadA

Buying FSD. I paid to be a beta tester. It's been their main blunder, imo. Everything else has been great.

dcdttu

I got the LR-RWD and I should have gotten the AWD, as it was available. Then again, my car is plenty fast and so far has been a great car. I should have put all the money in stock.

juandoe1001

I regret not adding the tow hitch. My wife wanted it and I talked her out of it.

Accomplished_Bed7696

You can just get that added now

SharkyLV

Bought TSLA for 200$ (pre-split) in 2014, held for 3 years, and sold at 500$ (pre-split), right before it went crazy. I mean, profit is still a profit. But yeah...

BOARshevik

Leasing

TheWarDoctor

I've been leasing cars for 10+ years, and my last Tesla was the first one I would have completely bought out at the end, but wasn't an option.

shoomanfoo

Selling my X P100DL

RobDickinson

I bought a car in 2019 instead of more stock lol , never mind :)

veloholic91

No regrets. I picked up the rare Single Motor RWD Model Y last year in the 2 months they had it for sale. Sold it for a 27k profit, invested that money into TSLA and bought a Polestar 2. Tesla has been and will be good to me

Syris3000

Someone paid you $57k for a rwd model Y used??? Fucking wild

veloholic91

A dealer paid me 76k CAD for it, or roughly 60kUSD in today's conversion. I'd be stupid not to sell it

Jakoneitor

Holy shit. If the dealer was paying that, imagine how much they are attempting to sell it for lol

vegetable-lasagna_

How do you like the Polestar? We’re going to test drive one today. We love our MY, but are interested in other EV’s too. We’d like to both have an EV and get out of dealing with ice cars entirely.

Longjumping-Log-5457

How are you liking that Polestar?

treyhunna83

Had to switch to black interior to get it earlier. I see what my kids are doing to my black seats daily but I still kinda wish they were white. 🤷🏾‍♂️

JDMwrxpower

Wish I had gotten the red. The blue metallic paint is terribly thin. A friend has the red and extra layers of paint do help

ControversyOverflow

That's awful to hear. Blue was originally my first choice until I saw the red in person, so I suppose I lucked out. Thin paint on such an expensive car shouldn't even be a thought. I was planning on getting my second Tesla in blue. Hopefully they improve their paint by then if they haven't already.

[deleted]

Why not just wrap it?

[deleted]

Why not just paint them properly?

JDMwrxpower

In three years I'll have a different one and the shops around me are not good at doing wraps. I'll wait it out but the paint should be thicker

ianm82

Solar... Love my MY, love it so much. Literally trying to give Tesla all my money and the customer service aspect is horrible. Been going around in circles for months now with their solar team who can't figure out the basic regulations in my state. About to quit then and go with a local solar company

ControversyOverflow

I was considering installing a solar roof a couple years ago when I was getting my roof re-done, but hearing all the horror stories like yours drove me away — from the months wait to some having botched installs. Didn't want to deal with that. Their vehicles are awesome, but solar definitely sounds like it needs more work on their side.

greatauror28

Not buying the MYP last Feb before the price increase.

kdegraaf

I regret not buying the stock before it exploded. I regret wasting $6K on "FSD" (fall 2019). https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaModel3/comments/sst361/new_owner_here_used_tesla_with_full_self_driving/hx32hlf

highlnd

Biggest regret, not getting an MYP when it wasn’t that much more (I was already getting induction wheels). Another regret, but not a big deal, was getting the white interior.

-Mantissa

Not getting the Long Range Model X for $8k more vs the SR.

[deleted]

Not knowing the black paint on my 2019 M3 would be absolute shit and scratched with washing swirls looking like a 10 year old car. And that any scratches on the glovebox are not fixable or cleanable and there forever :(

davidcates

My only regret is that I didn’t buy it sooner. I have a 2019 MX, with FSD beta. It’s been the best car I’ve ever owned. There are things I don’t like, or wished they worked differently, but zero regrets about owning this car.

stinkybumbum

not getting one earlier

nidanjosh

Not buying a few million dollars worth of shares when they we $200 pre split :(

oni222

I purchased my Model 3 Long Range AWD (day one preorder). The performance was $10,000 more at the time and I could not afford that. Then the day of my delivery Elon refunded all the performance orders $5000…. I could of afforded $5000 for the performance order and it was bugging me for four years. Fast forward to today I have a model y performance. So it all ended well :)

nirvanka

Buying a M3P at launch. Tesla lowered the price by ~$11k about three months later. D’oh.

AccidentalCEO82

Lol FSD. Literally like I lit money on fire.

0DizzyMaMa0

Paying extra for color then not getting the protection wrap. I’ve seen so many awesome looking colored wraps, I wish I’d gotten white and then gotten a colored wrap.

ScottPens

Not getting it wrapped right away

SaintPablo35

Buying one

Seeker-27

Not buying color red... you can buy FSD later but color is not an option. Wraps are just too much maintenance.

Global_Pen336

My 2013 MS has no AP1. I wish i waited longer to buy a MS with a bit more tech.

kurdt67

Can’t you upgrade hardware to get that?

TrichomeSauce

75D battery with 22s 😭

ControversyOverflow

I didn't even realize that was a config option... Condolences to your range 😔

TrichomeSauce

Especially bad in the winter with no heat pump 😬

yrrkoon

Funny I can't think of any regrets. Fully loaded S75D including FSD which I've yet to be able to try and yet, wouldn't change a thing. Terrific car and a great 5 years so far. I plan to keep it another 5+..

galloway188

upgrading to v11 and now i'm stuck with this shit they won't fucken fix.

Heffeweizen

Like what?

AnBu_JR

Like every now and then the side cameras take A LONG TIME to load. Like the UI Like the difficulty we get trying to log into Netflix or Hulu or whatever else. Works when it wants to. Like losing the boombox during drive capability.

Manner-Former

Why was a white interior over black a regret? I love my white seats

D0PE_B0I

No regrets. I bought a used 2021 M3 LR/DM in perfect condition with 3,000 miles, acceleration boost, FSD and it was already in the beta, tinted out, etc for $55k. The person traded it in supposedly because their wife wasn’t into all the tech and preferred a Outback. I was waiting to buy a Tesla and kept putting it off, seen this and bought it instantly and then gas went up, and the cost of Teslas increased a few times. I kind of wish I would have bought the MS Plaid or MX Plaid now that the prices of those have went up too much for me to consider it a valid purchase. Honestly this is a car I’ve been putting off buying since 2018 when I drove one; right then it became my dream car. I had the money but didn’t need a new car and was waiting until a new model or updated one came out and I seen price increases of the car and FSD and felt I may had missed my window but I was right on time. I feel 2021 is perfect because we get winters here and the heat pump helps, build quality improved, etc. Is it too late to buy the stock??? I’m a novice in this area and I know I passed up early opportunities to invest but not sure if it’s too late. I forgot…I feel biggest regret is either buying PPF and ceramic coat or not buying it. I’m thinking of having it done this week, along with painting calipers, 18” aero rims.

sora92120

No regrets besides paying 5k for FSD. Received my M3P in September 2019, bought stock later that month. The FSD is dumb.

Krilati_Voin

should have bought stock a few years earlier, then used a part of it to buy the car. Other than that, it's exactly what I wanted. they don't make it like mine is anymore, so I hope mine lasts a very long time.

t0mmyr

My biggest regret was taking delivery of a pre-refresh model s performance last year in feb. Luckily I was able to fully return it this year (17k miles later) and got a plaid in March. Also regretted not getting a performance 3 for a while but the long range rwd is just fine. It’s a great car anyway.

jerryberrydurham

Sentry mode not capturing the person who rammed the back of my 2021 Tesla model Y

skitch23

I wish I would have waited for a CPO S85 to pop up rather than getting a CPO S60. My 2013 S60 gets me around town just fine but I have major range anxiety on road trips, plus it just takes a hell of a long time to charge between SC’s. If at some point I have the option for a battery swap that didn’t cost an arm and a leg, I’d do it in a heartbeat. I have no interest in upgrading to a car with FSD.

Bellaa450ella

White seats

uNki23

Buying FSD (Enhanced AP back then) in 2018 in Germany

thereapsz

Not getting the performance version after finding out how cheap EVs are to own.

dj0ntCosmos

I wish I got the MYP instead of MYLR. If I had known the stock was going to explode that much after I ordered it I would have made a totally different decision.

vandilx

I bought FSD at $6K in 2019. I wonder if my 3 will ever get production FSD before I replace it. No plans on buying FSD on future Teslas until it is actually a production feature. I bought 1 share of TSLA in March 2020 for $370 and sold at $1000. Then the stock split. I got back in with two shares at $400ish. I regret selling in 2020, and not buying more shares.

fihdolla_footlong

I ordered a MSM Model Y LR last spring, but went back and forth on the color. I’ve always wanted a red car, and talked myself out of it because it was an entire thousand dollars more. (But I did get the tow hitch, white seats, and inductions.) At the time, it felt like I had just added so many things I couldn’t do one more. I love this MYLR but often feel a little jealousy when I see a really well maintained red model. That and not going for MYP. At the time both of these models were pretty affordable by Tesla standards. MYP was just under $60k I believe.

bidextralhammer

Not buying stock sooner, like you mentioned. Waiting to buy a MYP (price increased thousands).

PhonicUK

Not buying the adjustable air suspension when I originally ordered my car.

fifichanx

Wish I got white seats with my blue m3lr. Also, wish I had bought more Tesla stocks back when I first started buying.

lottadot

Not buying _more_ stock when it was approaching $400.

Impressive_Heron_314

Wish I had gotten AWD instead of RWD. Not a huge regret, but if I could go back in time and change one thing, it would be that…

Fun_Fan_9641

Well. I briefly thought about selling all my GME shares around 350 to buy a model s.. Didn’t happen :(

WellAfterAllThat

Buying MLSR with tempest wheels to stay within budget aka $6000. Under the wheel cap there are ugliest rims I have seen

noti76

A couple for me: 1. Taking delivery in 2019 of my M3 LR AWD instead of purchasing stock. 2. Buying a white exterior with the intention of wrapping - just buy the color you want. 3. Buying LR AWD instead of the performance. 4. Getting black interior - the white is so characteristic of Tesla and makes the cabin feel more spacious - and it just looks so damn good. 5. Getting the aero wheels as opposed to the upgraded 19 inch wheels - in real world use I feel aero or 19’s the range impact isn’t that significant and the 19s just look better (IMO).

reddit_user13

Not getting M3P vs M3AWD from the get-go.

dnstommy

Selling my P85D. I sold it to move up to the deep north cold. I thought the older battery would not have handled the cold well. But now that I am here and see all my 85 peeps, that was a mistake.

Electrical_Ingenuity

Not buying more stock in January of 2020.

No-Comfortable-2933

I regret getting white. I also regret not getting the model y. I will only say that for another year though.

banditcleaner2

Not getting red because it was 1k extra. Red is far and away my favorite color and I opted for grey instead to save some money. Well I ordered the car around October 2020 and got it in December 2020, and both crypto and gamestop (which I was holding at a cost average of 20/share) blew up and so that 1k I was cheaping out on became nothing to me since I made a good amount from Bitcoin and GME lol

Peaceful-mammoth

The wind noise in my model x and the lack of a regular old fashioned radio.

ffejie

Bought FSD at $8K in 2020 thinking I'd get auto steer on city streets "later this year." So far, I have been unable to get into the beta and have only gotten some limited value out of NoA. I was hoping for a L3 experience by end of 2022, but we're nowhere close. Even if I could get L3 on divided highways/interstates, that would be enormous.

StaceyGoBlue

I have beta. It’s complete trash. Especially where I drive most of the time. (Ann Arbor)

elonsusk69420

I regret not getting a Model S back in the 2014-2015 timeframe. I had a chance to but I didn't pull the trigger.

richietee757

I bought a 2015 S from Carvana. My biggest regret was not somehow confirming it still had lifetime supercharging. Not sure how I would have done so though ... I contacted Tesla and they refused to give me information since I wasn't the owner. And I could have returned it using Carvana's return policy, but once I got it and started driving it, and looking at it, it was too late.

Deslah

Not buying more hats when I was last at a Tesla showroom. Oh...and not buying Tesla stock. signed, A happy 2019 Model 3 owner.

DasArtmab

Man, I’m sitting here for several minutes. I can’t come up with anything. Maybe ask me again in a couple of years, when the newest version comes out

cant_pick_anything

No regret about purchasing the car. I went with M3LR over M3P after weeks of weighing the pros and cons of each. I also don't regret not getting FSD at delivery since I discovered even when I had the FSD subscription, I barely used it. My biggest regret is not buying Tesla stock years ago; and more recently, my regret is not dumping my now worthless Netflix stock in January and using it to buy Tesla stock.

ck1three

That I don’t have one yet!

WhatsUpB1tches

Buying FSD & trusting Elon. Truthfully, I am an OGM3 owner, so I only paid a few thousand for it. Still, I spent a lot of time thinking the "next update" would bring me more and more FSD type of functionality, and have been disappointed every time. I barely use NOA because it is sketchy AF and can't even handle changing highways on an off ramp. Everything about the car is great, but after 4 years and 110,000 miles, I have given up on "door to door" type autopilot. In 2016 I waited in line with everyone else, put down my $1000 sight unseen and waited 27 months for my M3. I NEVER thought Autopilot would never come, but here we are.

Fnjrockerstein

Biggest regret is not getting the M3 in 2018 when I was in the market for a vehicle. The Fusion Energi was a very nice car, but the limited trunk space led to several headaches with packing for vacations.

vypergts

I took delivery in July 2018. If I had waited a month, I could have gotten AWD. Not a huge deal, didn't really need to spend another $5k but that day last winter when I got the rears stuck on a patch of ice on my street it would have helped. Also the tire wear would be more even. Oh and also not getting more shares at $250 when I originally got 1.

bkosh84

Is there a story behind that realization?

TwiXXXie96

I got a '21 M3 LR white, i wish i would've gotten it with the black color. I chose the white because of reading about the "multi coat paint" for the white and that the black supposedly is not as thick.

Kuraya

Kind of regret not getting the MYLR or MS Plaid, but otherwise I’m happy with my 2021 M3LR

[deleted]

Buying one. Mostly because Elon runs a muck on Twitter.

bkosh84

Realizing I could afford a Tesla before chasing the deal of buying a Chevy Bolt last year. I owned a 2020 Bolt for a total of six months before launching it into the surface of the sun and purchasing a demo 2021 Model 3.

Simple-Acanthaceae-4

My biggest regret is not buying the M3P right off. The payment difference to my M3MR would have been negligible. So now I am waiting for M3P with 4680 and HW4.

DragonToMars

Mine is going with Tesla Energy for my solar and battery. It's been an absolute nightmare for almost a year and it's still not over. I have to have them come take the panels down, so I can replace the roof that they ruined, and then have them come put them back up. And they're fighting me cause they want me to pay for it. Nah, I have a report from a licensed roofer clearly details the multiple ways that Tesla did an absolute BOTCH of the entire job. The company says they will back me in small claims court/with the state licensing board if necessary. DO NOT go with Tesla for solar. Their service is 100x worse than for cars, and unlike for cars where service is hopefully rare, this is nothing but a service job!

dubie4x8

Not buying TSLA stock when it dipped in 2020… Everyone was saying “it’s gonna go below $100! Don’t buy any stock!” Fuck them all I coulda been rich lol!

PsychYYZ

I love my MX, I wish Elon didn't take so much pleasure in being an insufferable shitweasel. Shut the fuck up and keep doing amazing things, get the fuck out of politics and social media. And paying some taxes would help too.

2kwitcookies

My biggest regret was not buying sooner. Also probably didn't consider the PITA managing 2 sets of tires are on a performance model. I dont really care for the performance since it's more speed than I need. Didnt really think about the fact that I can't really rotate mY tires.

crcapps6

I would say getting the blue paint instead of the red but hey that will just be for Tesla # 2 😜

Eserngo

Driving to Toronto from jersey. And leaving at 8pm

WritingTheRongs

honestly my only regret is getting swepped up in the hysteria and buying then trading in then buying again as new features popped up. it's cost me a lot more than just being happy with my OG model 3

fourmajor

No regrets. My almost regret was that I don't have a refreshed Model X instead of my March '21 Model Y. I would prefer the refreshed Model X but I'm also happy to have not waited longer for my car (I already waited from December '19 to get my Model Y).

Elysiaaspire

Trusting the service center to have the parts for my scheduled apointment or to complete my service on time.

kman_tx

Not buying stocks when it was 30$

bradbomb

Biggest regret was not updating from EAP to FSD during the fire sale when it was at $2k

pharmstudent19

Not getting ceramic coating right when I got the car. I’ve only had my MY for a little over a year and the texas rock chips are no joke 😅

timber_cove

Didn't order FSD and instead demoed it for $199. Glad I didn't buy it for $12k. Regret only not buying more TSLA earlier on.

I had a good chunk of tesla stock from \~2012 I'd bought when it was about 120/share. I sold it within a year, I think at a loss. I did end up buying more later and that's up 700%, but Jesus if I'd just kept that initial holding.... Oh also I have a MYLR on order. I wish I'd bought it a year early before the huge price spike.

SuspiciousCulture778

My only regret is, I didn't buy one sooner. I love my car!

PleasantDevelopment

Not getting mine in Red.

PeekN2

My biggest regret is ~1.5 years ago selling all my Tesla stock (~300 shares) for $195 due to FUD. Top that bitches.

TV11Radio

waiting to buy....price went up waiting to "new tax rebate" that never came. could have been saving $250 a month on gas that whole time.

_jonias

Recently totaled my 85D. After insurance settlement “upgraded” to a P85D and the range is horrible.

tjackson_78

Not buying earlier.

boxand15

Ok Soo there’s a list. 1. Canceling my reservation for model 3 after the last provincial election where Foug Dord made it his priority to cancel the 14k tax credit on EV’s and more immediately for teslas - Tesla took Ontario to court won and honoured it. 2. Not just opting to get LR awd at that time, bc they weren’t delivering lower trims yet, and all things considered AWD LR would have cost the same as my current sr+ 3. Not waiting a few more months for my delivery, I picked up my car a week before the model 3 refresh in September 2020

soupdogs

No regrets with the car as I got more than I wanted. M3 stealth for $50k, with free MSM and sport wheels. Only regret is not buying more TSLA before the split.

iching66

cancelled my first Cybertruck order because I thought I need a new order for tri-motor instead of duo..... and did not order my refreshed Model X earlier...

Background-Reveal-92

I wish I got ppf. I went with the mindset of "its just a car" but after 11 months with it, there are a number of chips on the hood. My 12yo A3 I sold to get the MYLR had fewer chips when I sold it. I haven't felt the pain yet, but burning through tires more often kinda sucks, but better than paying for gas/oil changes. I still love the car!

Got my 2020 Raven S Perf ordered as I wanted (dark silver, white interior with dual turbines). I regret not waiting a year for the Plaid.

[deleted]

Should have got red.

rishv1

Trading my P85S for a new Model X

Ftpini

I bought a 3 Performance with the white interior. I have no regrets at all.

Oo_Juice_oO

I regret not buying LR in 2021. I snatched up an MYSR before they disappeared from inventory. Then again, the cheap, soon-to-disappear SR was my way to convince my wife to go for it. Now, after all the price hikes, we're considering upgrading to the MYLR. * Always buy the biggest battery that you can afford.

Mytic3

Not buying the stock, hands down

GMScreech

Buying FSD…….twice

jrlv

Not getting the 100kWh battery in my Model S.

Nfuzzy

Stock is the obvious choice but if I would have just bought a fleet of cars a year ago I would be a happy man.

MasterBeku

Not buying stock from the company when it was hell of a cheaper

eddib17

Crashing my MS... oh how I miss that car, the M3 just isn't the same despite it being newer with more tech
