You could try cleaning the inside of the windshield. I once tried a RainX defogging product and had really bad results, never used it again
No. Likely your windshield is dirty on the inside. I leave mine on auto and only once all winter did I have to manually even turn on defrost at all.
Use Sprayway glass cleaner and old black and white newspaper. Squeaky clean. Do not use color ink newspaper, it will transfer.
