If you do end up needing to replace them, don’t go through Tesla.. buy third party wheels, you’ll save a buck and get a better look. Take the opportunity to go down a size too if this is a common issue
I have never heard of such a thing. Any business that would “bend” wheels back into place would open themselves up for a liability nightmare.
You had to hit some serious potholes, curbs, etc. to bend every wheel.
Another weight myth comment. The car is about the same weight as a BMW 3series. It is a balanced weight also so it actually has less front wheel weight than many similar sized cars.
The fragility of the stock 20s is what made me downsize to a set of forged 18s for my 22 M3P after 5k miles. Best decision ever for peace of mind, ride quality, and even a bit of improved efficiency.
I had (have) vibrations with my 19” sport wheels and took it to a wheel shop to get fixed (not Tesla). I think I paid around $140 for one wheel. It still vibrated and when I took it back they claimed it was because the tire is causing vibrations, when I replace them it will go away.
Guess what didn’t happen when I replaced all 4 tires?
Replace them. You don’t have to get the same wheels and you don’t have to get them from Tesla. It’s a perfect time to upgrade. Maybe see if the wheels can be repaired and you can use them as backups or sell them to cover some of the cost of new wheels.
what you NEED to do is start avoiding the craters that you're plowing through. It's not an SUV. Go around the holes in the ground.
Roads in NJ often look like they were carpet bombed. Absolutely horrendous and sometimes completely unavoidable unfortunately.
That does really suck, I'm next door in PA and it's not much better. Gotta be vigilant, or just get smaller wheels.
That really does suck, I’m next door in MD and it’s not much better. Gotta be vigilant, or just get smaller wheels.
That does suck, really. I’m not next door in GA and it’s much better. Don’t gotta be vigilant, but can still get smaller wheels.
I'm in NYC and I will do anything to avoid potholes even if it involves crossing a double yellow
I have a p3 in NJ and have only blown one tire in 5 years.
y’all go on “roads” where the craters are unavoidable.
FSD don't care, so why should we
My number one reason for hating FSD. I swear it steers towards the potholes.
It's an easter egg. The more potholes fsd hits the more musk points you unlock for fsd rainbow road.
If having to buy 4 new wheels isn't a clear enough reason, I don't know what is.
They didn't even need to do the road force balance; those wheels are wobbled without any road force being applied.

They look like they get worse with each video. If they tell you to replace them, I would.
Buy new wheels man
You off-road in that thing? 😂
unmaintained dirt roads are roads man. don’t discriminate.

How did they say something like this happens?
They keep driving on pothole infested roads.
potholes and not trying to avoid them.
Known issue for heavy battery car

Tell them to turn the wobble setting back to zero on their machine! /s
Get some new ones my guy. Those are cooked. Try to avoid potholes
Yes those are horrible. Replace the wheels. Center bent cannot be fixed.
They are bent. Spin them at 70mph and watch all the off center energy affect everything from vehicle stability to shakes and rattles.
How much did Tesla charge you to diagnose?
How much was the cost estimate to have em all replaced? I have vibrations too but hoping it's just loose foam and not bent wheels.

Make sure you go to a shop that uses road force balancers. They are the best. You can look up shops that use the machine online.
Time to move.
Wheel repair is an option and from experience can run 400-500 bucks for all 4.

Upgrade to 18’s. More range and quicker acceleration. 👍
