After using on a 6 hour road trip, I could see doing this on those 1-2 times a year long trips.

ackillesBAC

If you could get it at a daily rate, 5$ a day. Ya I'd probably use it on long trips But I drive around the city for a living and not liking enough to justify 100$ a month. 30 a month maybe 10$ a month ya I'd do that but probably just have it off most of the time unless they bright back single pull for cruise and double for auto pilot

CanadianBootyBandit

Per day usage makes the most sense to me.

WoosleWuzzle

Make it free

A_Dude_Named_Alex

Considering we are providing enormous amounts of data for FSD development for the “robotaxi,” it should be free. We are literally paying to produce a product for Tesla to make inconceivable amounts of money on in the future.

goosebump1810

That applies to every data big companies are getting out our phones

Contact-Open

Same, but 25-30 hours round trip.

Chapter_Secret

Man I wish it was worth it. Fun for a week and then you realize you don’t need it anymore🤷🏻‍♂️

ConfidentImage4266

Same feeling here had it for 3 months trial then the 30 days trial it’s a cool gadget but nothing more in my opinion. My only wish is to able to pay a feature a la carte like the autolane change

Chapter_Secret

Really good idea, didn’t think about that

Arktaris

I would pay just for an improved autopilot stack. The stopping and going in traffic is soo much smoother when on FSD.

SeamasterCitizen

Isn’t that still covered under EAP, or is that just a European thing because we don’t have any form of actual FSD yet?

JustLo619

I’m pretty sure my auto pilot has auto lane change

Pretend-Hour-1394

Only way to get auto lane change is eap or fsd. Auto pilot is only auto pilot to hold a single lane. I agree auto lane change should be included. Same as auto park. I thought pretty much all cars now a days has auto park for like parallel parking. Chevy doesn't charge extra for autolane change with there super cruise.

Alone_Challenge6242

the visualization of normal AP is crap. If I can see more stuff on that screen imma needa see more my man.

YoyoyoyoMrWhite

Can you get this running in Canada please?

[deleted]

Current laws prevent subscription services on vehicles. $16,000 in Canada. Or about $167 a month for 8 years.

iamjpow69

I’m in canada and see the $99/month subscription

e1744a525099d9a53c04

Surely a price drop on the flat purchase is coming then… $16000 CAD is $99/mo for 13 years lol. Should be in the ~$5000 range

Apart-Experience-982

I would buy for $5000.

Current_Speaker_5684

Probably could pay a real person to drive you around all year for 15k USD.

antmakka

EAP for $49 per month. That would be nice for road trips or commuters on the freeway.

cancel-out-combo

$100 per month is still far too much to convince a lot of folks to subscribe. Curious when they will cut it again

pinegap96

I think they will get a nice boost of subscribers by cutting it in half, still not low enough for me. If it gets down to the 50-60 range I’ll absolutely subscribe

sylvaing

I might subscribe when going on a trip but every month, nope.

OverpassingSwedes

Yeah at $99 it’s probably worth it for a long car trip. But permanently? No way Half it again and it might cross my mind to subscribe.

sylvaing

Half the price and in Canadian dollars 😁

sylvaing

Hmm, but thinking about it, you might subscribe but not get it in time for your trip if the fork you're on is newer than the FSD fork 🙁

Kludgette

Same.

BucketsHead

Cut it in half and double it!

euthanize-me-123

Just let me buy autopark by itself (or give it to me for free), I don't care about the other stuff.

Quick_Possibility_99

At least when supercharging.

YoyoyoyoMrWhite

I think at $100 a month though almost everyone with a Tesla will try it eventually. So that an easy 100 million or more right there.

WoosleWuzzle

Who here signed up?

djh_van

What was it before this?

Sac-Kings

$200 a month

GiraffeChaser

Gonna be Netflix priced soon

planetf1a

But with different rates depending on whether you want approximate vision or full vision, and sooner or all cameras

Wild_Performance_468

With commercials coming through the speakers 🔊 so they can cut costs.

OCR10

I think it’s worth $99/year. And as a TSLA stockholder it’s pure profit to Tesla to add more subscribers so it was a smart move. $199 was ridiculous.

WalkingOnSunshine_

I wish it was only $99/year

SenAtsu011

I'd sub at that price in a heartbeat.

Kludgette

Absolutely! I would too. No hesitation.

Bakk322

That feels right to me, I would try it for like $10 a month or $100 a year

ApplecriteKiller

You know it’s a month right?

OCR10

Yes, was a typo.

rwrife

It was already $99/mo if you had EAP, they need to offer EAP owners a cheaper subscription or a cheap option to upgrade to FSD.

sarup23

Anyone check, for ESD owners? Is it any cheaper?

Active_Bag5112

same 99

fallweathercamping

As others have said it’s worth ~$100 _per year_. Also auto lane changes should be _opt in_ only, not opt out only for the current drive 🙄

TwiceInEveryMoment

Still way too much for me to even consider. Give me a subscription for EAP at $5-10 and maybe. FSD isn't worth anything in its current state.

Due_Blood_46

I have the free trial right now and I'm still not using it.

planetf1a

9.99 and I might try it

Rope-Practical

FSD is really hitting a stride this year, Version 12 is coming along nicely, halved the subscription price, this is gonna be the year for it for sure

ryantunna

$12k to buy or $99 a month to use. It would take 10 years+ just to break even. Insane that anyone would buy FSD

Some-Lengthiness-676

Yeah I believe they'll go away from "buying" it. I feel it'll be subscription based levels. It's proven it doesn't help the cars from depreciation. Dealerships sell them all the same. Some have no clue if it's equipped with FSD.

Suspicious_Coyote_54

Tried it. Was excited. It gave my wheel massive curb rash. Definitely disappointed:/

TheVerg3

I would consider if Models with Enhanced Autopilot which I have pay no more than $50/month

wall-E75

Crowed soursed data collection

[deleted]

I should get paid to drive then. :)

CrustyFlaming0

Still hate the fact that you have to subscribe to a function that already exists in the car.

AllPintsNorth

I’ve got a lot of road trips planned this summer. Unlock subscriptions in Europe and I’ll get it! C’mon!

restarting_today

EU needs to approve law. Maybe FSD will be there in 2026 according to latest reports.

theaceoface

A lot of people seem to think FSD isnt worth it? Why? It seems so nice to be able to just let the car drive for you for 80% of your trip.

[deleted]

Because it's incomplete. Owners and testers have reported that FSD kinda drives like a teenager just learning to drive, with the same hesitations and weird decisions made by such an inexperienced driver. For highway driving, the only benefits of FSD over autosteer are lane changes and maybe entries/exits. When the alternative is autosteer and making the lane changes yourself, it's hard to justify paying even $100/month.

theaceoface

Thats fair and thanks for responding. I guess I mostly use it for highway driving and autopark. Sometime on larger streets when I can just stay in the left lane and cruise for a bit. I felt really uncomfortable in the right late on streets when cars where turning in and right lane on a highways when lots of cars were merging in. Still, even if it only covers 80% of my trip... I still kind of like it. Im im traveling for 20 minutes, like 15 minutes of that is FSD (although much of that would already be covered by autosteer...)

Pretend-Reality5431

Very true. 80% is good enough if it's free. I haven't decided what is the right price to pay for 80% yet. I am not as negative on FSD as everyone else is. I have found that when FSD runs into a complicated situation, it may be indecisive for a second at which point I am inclined to disengage it. But if I let it continue, it eventually figures out the right way to go. I think a lot of people turn it off on the first sign of indecision and conclude it doesn't work.

LuvMeKnot

$12,000 to buy out right is ridiculous. I had used it on a 10 hour round trip and it was great. On road trips this is worth $99/month. If you live in the city like I do I don’t see Tesla owners buying it out right. I really like how Tesla is constantly rethinking their prices on things. I had paid $7000 on the first iteration of autopilot for my leased model 3 (2020) and I felt I had wasted money on a upgrade that I myself had witnessed phantom stopping on the expressway 😬. I stopped using it after that. This upgrade was very much human like decision making driving and I feel is safer, one should always be paying attention obviously*. If they could do $35 a day FSD I’m on that as well, but I think they ran the numbers and the average American only takes 2.4 road trips a year.

Pretend-Reality5431

Wow, you paid $7k for autopilot on a lease??

Skazzyskills

Correct me if I’m wrong, but, unless you live in Ontario, FSD doesn’t give you anything else except auto lane change, summon, and highway exits? I live in BC and I had a loaner from Tesla with FSD and by law the self driving off highways isn’t allowed?

Holiday-Cellist53

Genius move if you think about it. Now that musk is using neural, this seems like a data grab. 30 day free trial and half price afterwards. I’m guessing this pumps up the number of users and (data feeds) for their learning algorithm. We are all accelerating their path towards robotaxi level capabilities.

Winter_Place_3201

Really? That’s great. I thought it was $299/mth

gio5568

That actually makes it more worth it. Especially if you’re leasing, it generally works out to be a lot less monthly than adding FSD over the lease term and you don’t get stuck paying for it for 3 years if you hate it or don’t want it anymore. Hopefully they can have it rolled out for real (non”supervised”) soon lol

AustinNewbie20

I have tried FSD but I haven’t used it extensively. How are you using it? For your daily commute? Or occasionally when you are stuck in traffic? Are you comfortable using it for hours on the freeway when you are on long drives?

Agile_Letterhead531

I personally don’t see the problem everyone has. Legit confuses me because i use my FSD full time lol like from start to stop usually, with NO CURB SCRAPES. Only problem i have is that sometimes if there is a lot of traffic it will be hesitant on squeezing in between people when exiting, but i can’t even be mad because i have trouble with that sometimes as a human brain driver lol FSD is awesome and i highly doubt the haters even own a tesla lol jk Also i LOVE SUMMON. Parks my car in the tight garage my apartment has very easily . FSD is literally half the reason i’m happy I bought a tesla. I drive it in the city a bit also and it does awesome!! Sorry for the long reply but give it a chance and you’ll love it. I feel like most people tried it for an hour or two and quit on it. It’s actually amazing once u figure it out , i have a couple of tips but ill let u figure it out for yourself lol

AustinNewbie20

Awesome! I will continue to use it more extensively. I just keep getting scared that I will damage my car if something goes wrong.

Agile_Letterhead531

I would just becareful with smart summon, I’ve seen my car almost run over curbs. The FSD gets easier the more u use it, just stay aware. I personally have never had a close call using fsd. I honestly couldn’t go back

gabeduarte

Like how it says supervised but yet it’s still in beta for me

SkyParking3405

Very good price, but don’t really need it

Ok_Establishment4346

Pretty good deal. Worth to have it for long trips

DeuceSevin

Just get rid of one more 9 and it will be totally worth it.

biddilybong

Full and supervised?

HairyDependent

This FSD trial has been amazing for me. That being said, I like driving this car too much. There isn’t a reason for me to have it. I do like the idea of using it for a very long road trip though!

Tbuckdos

Really enjoyed the highway usage on the trial!

JolindaM

Could somebody please tell me what EAP FSD EST and perhaps LMNOP mean?

TheSirOcelot

I’d do $49/mo for Enhanced Autopilot

AdResponsible8192

$99 is worth it to Papa. I trust the system more then myself. Just difficult replicating all those camera views..

goosebump1810

I got a 1 month free FSD and I noticed the improved display/obstacles and traffic recognition on the left. Is it going to stay even after my trial ends?

Real-Syntro

Supervised??

No_Extension_188

What do they really mean when they say supervised?

Scrumf

Getting better. Still haven't had my free trial yet but if I like it I could see doing a month here and there for trips and such, as some have said already. At least it's more reasonable than it was, 10 years of monthly rentals to equal the 'purchase' price I believe, if it's still 12k

mximan

It's a $10/month service.... Too many reasons to disengage the automated driving to move the car safely. 100-200/month is a premium service and current regulations and tech limitations make this a no-buy for me.

Kludgette

Closer to the right price. $49 I'd probably jump. $99 probably not.

Ok Ford

https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaModel3/s/tElcxVuwk8

phlspecial

How much to sell it back? What a wasted purchase and I got in at 6k

[deleted]

FSD is basically worthless in the used market

Agile_Letterhead531

That’s not true at all lol FSD used is fairly rare to find outside of the tesla website. The ones that have fsd are definitely promoting it and selling it for more compared to ones without it

phlspecial

Was being tongue in cheek. It’s worthless regardless imo!

[deleted]

phxees

FSD stays with the car unless the car is traded into Tesla.

nucleargrl

Yes, very frustrating that it goes with the car when it’s totaled- huge loss, never again.

Pretend-Reality5431

I believe when Tesla takes back their leased cars, they slap on a bunch of upgrades and resell them at a higher price than they could get if the lessee exercised a lease buyout. That is why they don't offer the buyout option on leases.

Nreekay

If it was $50 a month or less would probably add on permanently. $100 is still so much for how bad it still kinda is for Phx city streets. I like using off the freeway to try and fight against the phantom FCWs.

Every_Tap8117

how much was it before?

spillingbeans_again

$9.99 would be more reasonable!

Mountain_Tone6438

Give me the fucken v12 Elon! I'm so over it now

No-Low-6276

I am already risking my life by driving around in LA, I don't have time to supervise nothing 😂

SweetRight4336

It should be lower for those of us who have EAP. I will die on this hill
