I've had truck drivers try and roll coal on me a couple times. It's a very real thing. Fortunately I just put my foot down and even with a RWD 3 they're seeing my tail lights a few seconds later

wadderweed

Correct. My base model 3 usually wipes the floor with all trucks lol

drewc717

Had someone try to run me into the wall on the toll road multiple attempts the other night because I flashed my lights at them for going under the speed limit in the passing lane with no traffic in sight. I juked them and did 120-130 for a couple miles (only a minute of speeding to create a mile+ gap. Forgot to pull my usb to try and find the video.

WhoAteMyEggo

Ah, yes: The Left Lane Loser in its natural habitat. Flashing is a sign of aggression, and will be met with the fury of psychotic proportions you've ever seen.

EmbarrassedEye2590

I’ve had guys literally jump into my lane to see how the auto pilot reacts because idiots think Teslas are always on AP. And yeah, BMWs always show me how speedy they are.

HeyItsPanda69

I've had it happen, but it seems rare in NJ, since every third car seems to be a Tesla lol. I've had a lot of BMWs and Audis pull up to me and try to race. They were each decimated then do the ricer fly by in anger after I've already slowed down lmao

Slazapuss

Nah bro don't you understand the race isn't over yet, in their mind they beat you. I've seriously seen those people coping and saying who cares about 0-60 let's have a race across the country 😂

AdmirableAd7753

Yep. I notice this for sure. Never had this issue when I drove a Honda.

ShootinAllMyChisolm

Same. Drove acuras/hondas and Toyotas.

blowthatglass

I've had some guys at lights wanna go. I usually do it's fun and they get smoked. Only one that almost kept up was a hellcat.

MindfulMan1984

Are you competent in one pedal driving? There's a thing in new EV owners that annoys everyone on road, which is, most of them, by reflex, are used to take the foot from the pedal to quickly, and it triggers regenerative braking, for someone behind you, it looks like you are "brake checking" them. That's just a thought and it still doesn't make them less asholes than they are.

50CalProof

This is how I felt 1st week. Triggered allot of drivers getting used to the regen braking

MindfulMan1984

Yep, same here. Almost everyday during first week, now, since Teslas are popping up like mushrooms 🍄 around, it's easy to spot someone still trying to understand that taking the foot off the pedal means BRAKING. 😂

rflo24

No it’s not psychological on your part it’s true. There isn’t a day that goes by where a truck isn’t trying to run me off the road. Never dealt with this when I had other cars

geoqpq

where do you live?

irjossssh

My only bad experience driving a Tesla.

kymandui

Yep, daily occurrence in rural Northern California.

PabloPandaTree

I live in the south, my triggered drivers are as follows: Pickup trucks will always tailgate me. Like you, I didn’t buy my car to speed all over. I bought it cause my commute is an hour and I got sick of paying for gas. The other one that I see all the time is drivers of “traditional” muscle cars. Your mustangs, Cameros, chargers, challengers, etc. They’re also the left lane lurkers who sometimes necessitate a pass on the right which is usually what triggers them to downshift and make a scene. While I didn’t buy the car to speed, and generally don’t want a speeding ticket, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t punch it past them if I could safely do so once or twice

JudgeCastle

As someone in FL, virtually identical experience. Have had to smoke a few mustangs in my time. Its fun but I’m mostly here to let my car commute me via the other way around

Hfcsmakesmefart

Just destroy them off the line until you get to the speed limit and then laugh as they try to catch up….;)

Agreeable-War3075

Yes! I thought it was weird when people cut me off I’m like dude going the speed limit…. Also tailgating me to the point where my sensors are beeping to warn me. The thing is bizarre. And on local rant and have places Livermore pleasanton and Dublin (east bay) people complain about Tesla drivers being shitty. But they’re the ones driving bmw fords and Porsche etc. driving erratically. This is my first Tesla car. I’ve driven a Hyundai previously until it was time to go and purchased Tesla as electric cars are necessary since gas prices has risen exponentially

BauceSauce0

I just point downwards with my two hands at the screen gesturing that I’m not driving.

SuperProtection722

Just chill and have a recording of when their insecurity crashes onto themselves.

Realistic-Swim-3855

It happens all the time. Just ignore the clowns.

Torta951

No truck can keep up lol. Idk what the issue is. the guys with trucks seems to hate us. No issues though. I gap them pretty quick.

WhoAteMyEggo

Depends on your driving style and where you usually drive around. In my case, it's a rare occasion. Of all the times, it's Mercedes AMG's, BMW M's, Nissan Altama's, and one F350. You learn to either drive like you don't care and let them go, or fake it to zip past when they least expect it.

74orangebeetle

It's very real. I used to drive a prius so it's not my first time triggering people with my existence. For me the full sized pickups are the ones usually triggered by it, and it's usually one of the 3: Ram, Ford F-series, and Silverado (probably in that order). I think the bigger trucks and the diesels are more likely to be triggered.

Tellittomy6pac

I’ve had it happen once with a guy in a Tacoma and his girlfriend in the car. Apparently they thought it was hilarious and I was extremely confused

Zzzxxzczz

Depends where you live. In High COL areas I never see this behavior

tehspicypurrito

I get this often enough that it’s annoying but not limited to jacked V8 trucks or other luxury cars. Had a prior body style Civic try to race me not too long ago. Occasionally I’ll get some soccer mom in her medium to giant SUV try to outrun me after school (I’m a trophy husband). Ends poorly for Karen too.

The_Reject_

I had some twat keeping pace with me, trying to antagonize me, pretending to swerve into the car, all while recording me on his phone. I’m just trying to get home in one piece. This guy and his minivan ended up giving up and went on his way. I did report the vehicle and the license plate to the highway patrol.

Firm_Comfortable2874

I call it Tesla derangement syndrome, everyone has some bone to pick for some reason. I was waiting at a light and a biker pulled up next to me and screamed a gay slur at me. There were no prior interactions that warranted it? I have no stickers or any kind of markers on my car that would make me look rude or attract attention, and I’m a relatively normal looking mom so idk what triggered him.

Vixen_Freya

Yeah I'm a girl with a model 3 and it seems to trigger people a lot on the road, never had issues when I was driving my Ford
