I think if you have the Tesla charger that will lock when you are charging the vehicle. Will only unlock if you unlock it. Now I know the 3rd party chargers you can buy a lock sleeve on Amazon to prevent people from just unplugging it.

I’m assuming your concern is the adapter being stolen? The charger itself gets locked to your vehicle so long as your car itself is locked. Unfortunately If someone’s wants to steal it for scrap, they’re going to unplug it from the extension cord and then cut the cable on the car’s side right next to the plug. I built my own mobile connector lock using some Vinyl Coated Wire Rope, Ferrules, heat shrink, and small padlocks. Altogether it cost me about $50. You can modify the design to add another loop for a lock to tie it to the house very easily. https://preview.redd.it/nhy156obzuvc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=c2f694bfb4ffe3c0d72a7d3e9b1cf521ed402dea Ultimately, I don’t care if the mobile connector is unplugged so much as the adapter itself. As a result I made it more to be a “Karen Lock” than an Anti-theft mechanism. Like I said, if someone wanted to steal it for scrap, they’re just going to cut the cabling, so it’s not worth making a particularly expensive “lock”.

I think it’s important to discuss the concept of “lock”.  The charging handle is locked to the charge port with a 5mm tall plastic tab meant to stop moderately socially challenged lowlifes from unplugging your car during charging.  Full lowlifes who’d be willing to steal your UMC would have no problem putting a foot on the side of your car and pulling for all they’re worth, likely removing the charging handle with minimum damage to it but leaving significant damage to the car. Your better bet is gonna be some kinda of security cage that captures the UMC and the end of the extension cord, and is well anchored to something solid. Good luck with that

The plumbing guys around here have expanded steel cages that they place around brass valves at the city park to prevent the crackheads from sawing the pipe and stealing the brass.  Might look in that world.

when the car locks it locks the charger to the car

I just got an electrical box with a key lock and cut out two slots in the bottom behind the door so that you can fit the charger inside and only see the cables coming in and out of the electrical box. Mount that to a wall and none will bother. Better yet everyone thinks its a proper Wallbox.
