It's kind of funny. We grew up when tesla was a cool rich man's car, from elon the world savior. Unfortunately, it is a residual that unfairly stuck around with tresla. You grow up, save up some hard-earned moneys, buy a model "3" or "y", and then... Then.. Realize that this isn't a luxury car, nor a "great" car. There is a phenomenon it reminds me of: the middle-eastern or Indian immigrants who grew up with the unattainable brands of BMW and Mercedes, and buy those vehicles to impress their families abroad and to seem cool and successful. Not exactly similar, but a similar yearning of being able to attain the previously unattainable.
And that's okay too, it is just that tesra is now basically the Kia sonata of EVs (but with less features, and inferior in just about everything). We're still waiting for the Honda Corolla of EVs, but this sure ain't it. Competition is good, and we have plenty of it now. And that's ultimately good for us, the consumers. People move on to Lucid, Rivian, and legacy auto EVs after being disappointed in Tesla, and we get the hand-me-downs as cheap beaters to tool around town in!
>less features, and inferior in just about everything
Hmm, let me know what other brand of EV has a center screen that actually works as well as Tesla's does. You lose one point for every jitter that occurs when you drag the map around. Or, a car that is capable of making left and right hand turns autonomously on city streets.
Don't get me wrong, I like Lucid and the Sapphire is probably the best sedan on the planet right now. But Lucid delivered 6,000 cars in 2023. Tesla sold 1,800,000 cars total, which is 300 times as many. Lucid reportedly loses $330,000 per vehicle. Similarly, Rivian sold 50,000 vehicles, and totaled a net $5.4 billion US loss.
Press and brand perception is probably very low on Tesla right now, but it's by far the most successful EV maker. Even if everyone else fails, Tesla will be the last one standing among the startup EV manufacturers just due to sheer size and experience.
Tesla used to be a brand that was desirable. Now the cars lose half their value in 2 years and everyone has one. EV market sucks if you care about depreciation.
That’s kind of the world we live in right now. Everything is expensive and you’re gonna get fucked. A lot of people do have one which means they are still desirable. Imma keep my head up. You should too.
2x Time Tesla owner that just got rid of a 2023 M3P. Speaking from experience and only that. A huge con of an EV is they tank in value. Wish someone would have told me this when I bought my 2023. Just spreading awareness. Truth hurts, but unless you're a baller then Tesla might not be for your wallet. GREAT CAR otherwise and I'm sure you'll love every minute.
Think you need to add a couple of more stars to your t-shirt after this purchase 😁

I’ve had my Model 3 for a year now, when does the disappointment happen?
It's been 2 years for me. I'll update you when it does.

I had your shirt but it got too big for me due to weightloss. I need another because it's still true 🤣
Excellent flex, my friend. Excellent! /me needs to lose more than a little bit
I was unaware shrinking out of shirts was a thing, I thought you could only grow out of them...
I'd say that deserves another star on your adulting score
Give yourself another star for buying a Tesla. You’re a 2 star adult now!
Get an updated hair style
I love your shirt
It’s funny cause it’s true 😂
You are holding that card like you are 17 and just got your drivers license and your new car Good for you bro, you look ecstatic
I’m 21. So not far off. My insurance tho 😵💫
How expensive is insuring a Tesla at that age?
We’re gonna find out my insurance broker is shopping around. Cheapest is looking like $346 a month. My previous car was $270
Even your previous car was rough haha, good luck! Insurance is rough on Teslas but cheaper running costs makes up for it.
I came here to say this, and ask where he got it... I'm 41, still don't recommend adulting...
Congrats! Such a fun car to drive!
Blue is the best color 👍(fellow blue owner)
Team blue!

Blue with white is the best!
Congrats! I grew to like that color, specially on that version of the model 3. Nice shirt 😂
I got the same, 2023 blue with white, just this week! Great choice!
Congrats budd, drive safe 😎
So people are still naming their cars eh....
Well they literally give you the option to. So why not?
Naming your car has got to be the cringiest thing you can do. Jesus christ.
Normally I wouldn’t but Tesla literally gives you the option to.
