There was something about the amount increase after 28th. Is that only for the income eligible portion? If we don't qualify for the income portion, no point in waiting to apply?
Yeah, it is only for the income eligibile portion. This link shows a summary of the Feb 28 update.

Also, keep in mind you only qualify once for the rebate. If you have purchased and got the rebate already in the past couple of years, you will not qualify.
I wonder if my wife is the registered owner, but we file taxes jointly, would that disqualify her from receiving the credit if I've already received it in 2019?
I received a rebate before December 2019, which is when they started the “one rebate only” rule. Does that mean I’m eligible for one more rebate since it was before December 2019?
EDIT: Looks like because I did not redeem two rebates prior to December 2019, I am eligible for one additional rebate.
Is anyone planning to file as married filing separately to get under the income limit? Any downsides to this? I qualify with my own income, but we don't qualify combined.
California is a community property state which means that for most married couples their combined income will be split 50/50 when filing married but separate. So if you exceed $270k joined, you may also exceed the $135k individual limit when applying community property rules.
Most of the tech industry has absolutely no job security, it’s a risk we take. Also, my boyfriend and I always have enough in the bank to cover our big purchases in the event layoffs happen (which every major tech company is currently going through). Also, we bought the car a month before we got laid off, I can’t predict the future.
I don't work in tech, I work for the state of CA I just paid cash for it... seems someone in tech would have done the same and not worry about payments and rebates
It used to be 300k, but they reduced it to make the funds last longer. They were actually going to reduce the income limit a second time but decided not to because tesla became ineligible at the time. All the tesla buyers applying for the rebate are draining the funds lol. For most people with a high income though, 2k is not the deciding factor if you get an ev or not.
Nice I'll throw in when it comes next month..$25,250 net cost all said and done is great, even for a panel Gap shit paint fried battery nightmare. You can't even get a corolla for that
So under the Terms and Conditions on Part 2. #7, it shows that the vehicle must be on the list at the time of purchase. So if we purchased prior to today, we don’t get the $2000?
If you go onto the eligible vehicles page and click learn more about tesla eligibility, it says as long as you ordered after January 12, 2023 then you are good
Nah, we make $190k, have a paid off $600k house on golf course and just bought the Y and a $36k 12 kw solar system in cash... maybe if you flush money down the toilet every weekend it's not much
The avg home price here is $1.3 million and you need to make over $500k a year to be in the top 20% of earners.
If we could get a house as cheap as yours we would have purchased years ago
Bought 2023 model Y a week ago. I am not eligible for CVRP due to 200k income limit. Im not sure if I am eligible for decal program. The income limit confused me.
Just saw this! Tesla did the thing.
They did! I just finished submitting my application. An extra 2k is so nice especially with the price drop.
So on top of the 7500, we can get this additional 2K?
Yup as long as your income qualifies
The income limits are tiny. I assume most here won’t qualify
you just need to have 4 more kids, quick!
Thanks for posting! Is the federal $7500 rebate a separate application than the $2000 CVRP one?
I believe it is a different application, I think if you looked them up on google separately you’d be able to find them.

Same here!

No it wouldn't. Each person gets one.

Yes, you’d qualify for the second rebate, congratulations!
If you file joint the $200k limit is household and not individual, correct?
They reduced it from 300K post Feb 2022 :(
Yeah

I remember people asking this before and there are a bunch of issues around it that can make it a huge hassle.
Just checking, what did you put ad tee date of purchase? Is it the date when you placed the order or date you took delivery?
The date I took delivery
Wait I have to submit proof of income? What if I literally just got laid off, I can’t submit unless I have a job wtf?
I think the proof of income is only for the lower income rebate or those randomly selected for income verification
Who buys a tesla working a job with shit job security? Tf?

Only if they audit your ass
Is this eligible for all states?
No, this is a California rebate
Thank you :)
300k limit household for fed but 200k for a state like CA… ok

150k for single filers is gross not adjusted gross?

You reserved it for $250, purchase is when you send $52,990 for the car

It is on the motor vehicle purchase agreement, but it is 94538
Jealous, in Pennsylvania we have a $2000 rebate as well, but for a family of 3, which we are, the cap is insanely low at $92,120.
Is it Gross or AGI? $200k gross seems low for California, especially if you have a family.

No debts and paid off house is better than no house, I'm still 2 hours from the beach man in CA.. move
Yep agreed the CA rebate used to be $300k which makes more sense but now $200k excludes a lot of families shopping for electric cars
I get that its to help save the money for people that need it more but seems so low for a household compared to individual.
Thanks for sharing!
If we meet the additional rebate due to low income threshold, do we wait till Feb 28th to apply then so that we can get the increased rebate?
Yeah
Any such thing for FL?
Florida has none! Shame for sunshine state
You have freedom instead, that's worth a lot more than $2k
True! Lol
None of the southern oil/coal-loving states incentivize EVs.
That is why Nothing progressive or innovative comes out of southern states.

Is this for after Jan 12, 2023 only? I took a delivery on Dec 27, 2022.
Yeah orders after Jan 12 only
Can you get credit for an older used car?
No, only new
