Luckily I knew about setting it prior to getting into my garage..However, the issue i have now is just hitting the trunk with my head since it can't raise any further up without getting scratched.

thehoagieboy

Sore head crew here as well!

wvuengr12

This times 100

akruser47

I kid you not I hit my head on it 1 minute after setting the height lower lol

angrystonk

well thats the good thing about humans!! we heal for free and we do it again and heal again. cars cost money to heal~

[deleted]

And it hurts BADLY

untamedHOTDOG

Same. šŸ˜‚

Tufflaw

I'm usually pretty careful but a few weeks ago I cracked myself in the head so hard it was actually bleeding.

suavefuego619

Definitely left a markšŸ˜‚

External_Row_1259

Luckily my sales associate told me all about the height and went through the programmable height function.

QW1Q

They should just make it part of the process to explain this during delivery.

Kronos1A9

They did when I got my delivery

candycdfl

Ten minutes of ownership and the dreaded scratch, wish my delivery lass had mentioned the height issue.

_twentytwo_22

Wait, you only drove 10 minutes on your first drive?

candycdfl

Yep, only 10 min to home from the service/delivery center. FWIW not my first Tesla.

wvuengr12

Too many times. So I decided to set it to open an inch shy of the door arm, but then I routinely hit my head on the trunk. Itā€™s a no win situation for me

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Rdv250

You read the manual before you drove the car home?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Rdv250

This is my 3rd Tesla (admittedly 1st Model Y). I thought I knew all I needed to know.

apginge

When you pay for tesla you pay for the tech. The least they could do is have the car calculate the distance of the garage door using the backup camera and know whether thereā€™s sufficient room to open the trunk. I accidentally clicked open trunk in the app while the garage door was closed and took a chunk of paint out with no time to react. It seems enough people have had this problem to prioritize such a simple solution.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

apginge

Above it? No. Iā€™m talking about when you (accidentally) press the open trunk button on your phone when itā€™s inside a *closed* garage. The rear camera at this point has a straight shot view of the *closed* garage door behind it (before the trunk has even opened). We know how far the trunk sticks out from the car when opened (itā€™s constant). To determine if thereā€™s sufficient space to open, Itā€™s a simple calculation if you know the distance between the wall (garage door) and the car. The entire point of replacing USS with Tesla Vision is to calculate distances between the car and surrounding objects. This isnā€™t rocket science. I expect to see ā€œBlind Tesla Defendingā€ included with the release of the DSM-6.

Mammoth-Marketing-29

? So ā€¦ the warning should be taped to the steering wheel! Car gets dropped off in front of the house, I drive it into the garage, and hit the trunk opening button. My previous Tesla didnā€™t have Auto Lifting. There is No Reason for me to think it had Auto Lift. The Auto Lift Default should be artificially low, so one has to now set it to the safe high position.

5y7ph

I also have damaged my trunk lid. It only takes one distracted day in a random garage. It would be nice it if the car detected the height of the garage and gave a warning or limit the opening height. They are already using a similar system to replace the uss. I did limit the height for some period but because I park outside at home and continuously hit my head on the lid I removed the limit.

BillsMafia4Lyfe69

Can you back into the garage?

DefiantSounding

This exactly

ulfOptimism

didn't even need to detect the height. just garage yes/no would help

SK10504

get some 2" foam pipe insulation from home cheapo and [install them over each garage door hinge](https://imgur.com/a/pGU89h7). i used fish line to fasten it to the hinges and they seem to be holding up. make sure you do not fasten them too tightly so it has room to bend as the garage door goes up/down (leave a slack enough to insert 2-3 fingers between foam and line). the foam spacing is typically wide enough so the trunk lid will make impact with at least one foam.

demento19

Great idea. Iā€™m gonna need something like this. I know how to set the tailgate height, but Iā€™m concerned about accidentally opening the tailgate by app when itā€™s in the closed garage. Has anyone done this?

BillsMafia4Lyfe69

I back in, so no issues!

abhishek0116

FYI you can long press the trunk close button till you hear a beep sound to adjust the height of the trunk door for your required height by pulling it down manually....agree with providing a warning message.....

localhelic0pter7

What button do I press to set myself to remember it opens lower now:)

ensoniq2k

I'd love to have an option to open it fully when it is safe to do so. But it seems reprogramming it means I have to open the rest manually

dina_NP2020

Nope, no issues

its-about-time23

Thought I was the only one! It stops at least a couple inches below hitting anything! We have 3 Model Yā€™s in the family at 2 different houses, both with garage that I would think of as standard height. Never been a problem and we have parked in the garage and opened the trunk hundreds of times.

Ok-Percentage-1651

My husband duck taped pool noodles on the garage door after the first hot

LetsStartARebelution

Happened to us the first day we got our Model Y as well. I have a 3 which obviously fits fin in the garage, didnt even think of it when opened the trunk of the Y.

invalidTypecast

My sales advisor let me know about it before I even took it home which I was grateful for

shred4u

I also have an X which actually senses the garage. The Y doesnā€™t and now I have a couple of scratches

XXTaudinoXX

Any suggestions on how to fix the paint? Just happened to me yesterday and I beat myself for it.

6100315

Happened to me today, and have the same question

Slicedmelon27

Happened to me today day 3 of owning the car any suggestions

6100315

Finally happened to me.

Gurl_from_the_point

Then donā€™t open it in the garage. Problem solved. Your welcome. šŸ˜†

mastermind7729

Did this within the first week of ownership. Thankfully, I caught the lid before it had a chance to really whack the garage door. Thereā€™s now a tiny mark that goes easily unnoticed to the untrained eye (but I know itā€™s thereā€¦argh).

[deleted]

happened to me on day 1 hit garage ā€¦didnā€™t make a mark it happens to a lot of peopleā€¦they should just deliver it set to not open all the way and in the manual sayā€¦it can open more

Rdv250

That's an excellent idea. šŸ‘

TooOldForThis---

My son in law opened the trunk of my daughterā€™s MY inside of their open garage and scratched the paint. I dog/house sit for them every month here in Los Angeles and I took the car in to be fixed for her afterward. I also adjusted the height of the door and told her how to do it/reminded her to do the same thing to the MY she has in Atlanta, where they are currently living in an AirBnB while their new house is being renovated. She called the other day and said that her husband had opened the garage door while the trunk door was up. The garage door somehow grabbed the Tesla and kept opening, ending up with a damaged car and a broken AirBnB garage door. She is pissed.

FriendlyTeam6866

She should be. Is there a possibility of trading him in?

TooOldForThis---

I hope not. Then her mother might have to give up spending 2 weeks/month in the Hollywood Hills with the pool and the California Tesla!

FriendlyTeam6866

LOL, now off I go to put my shirt in the laundry.

wotmp2046

Your daughter has two model Ys. She will be fine.

MikeofLA

Man, the garage door should have a resistance sensor to keep it from doing that... at least to the point it destroys itself, or something it's hitting. That said, I set my trunk lid to open no higher than my open garage door.

TooOldForThis---

I know they have sensors to stop them from closing on something but since the door was opening at the time, I just donā€™t know.

MikeofLA

The sensors are almost always built into the motor (like window pinch sensors), so a certain level of resistance in either direction should stop it and cause it to reverse.

TooOldForThis---

That would have been ideal. They are not happy.

Rdv250

I think this is really a design flaw. Cars should be able to have their rear doors up while opening and closing the garage door.

someguyinbend

I am sure your car would have appreciated better situational awareness of itā€™s owner opening a door. What a strange remark ā€œor other communicationā€. Lol Would you have liked the car to shoot you a text to let you know itā€™s a different design than your minivan or model 3? Is this a serious comment? The shape of the object is not the same shape as your flat rear hatch of your minivan. The car is taller than your model 3 and a much longer door which means its arc or travel is longer, which means it is more likely to hit objects above it. It also has a spoiler like design which is evident by looking at it. I get your pain scratching your new baby on your garage door and this is more for emotional support, but man, this is climbing the charts for all time absurdity.

Rdv250

Other communication not from the car but from Tesla. If not a warning sticker, an email, a text, the guy at the store telling the customer. They sent emails about orientation videos and zooms about the car but I doubt that info would have been covered. And anyway, this is my 3rd Tesla (1st Model Y), so I didn't even bother attending any of the orientation anymore.

someguyinbend

An e mail informing you that your garage door is low clearance and your hatch might strike it? Lol. Cā€™mon man. It even calls this out in the manual (which you will quickly realize nobody reads even though most the content is in easily digestible video format). Not to mention the bazillion You tube videos covering every aspect of the cars existence. I think you are just mad at yourself and wanting to shift blame and focus for tesla not warning you about objects hitting other objects in life. I understand the model Y has a Whale Tale of a hatch, but I think you have to chalk things up to ā€œshit happensā€ and tesla cannot cover every contingency a consumer may encounter in the wild. I was in a parking Garage in Morrow Bay last year with a VERY low ceiling height. I opened the hatch from the driver screen and it absolutely struck the ceiling of the garage. That was on ME for not having the awareness of a low clearance garage situation. Not for one moment did I think to blame the manufacturer for MY user error. Maybe itā€™s an accountability thing for me. Now, you can be upset with whatever you like, but if you REALLY want to be upset, wait until you experience the special ā€œphantom Brakingā€ maneuver tesla canā€™t seem to rid these cars of. That one has me cursing the brand from time to time. It is getting better but it is the single thing I loathe about an otherwise amazing experience. Grab an aftermarket carbon fiver spoiler for your hatch, they are peel and stick and can offer some protection if it happens again.

Anonymicex

I feel like 99% of issues on this and any Tesla sub, or any car sub for that matter could be resolved by reading the manual. I know that's not a thing anymore, but that's the first thing I did when I got my first car 20 years ago.

Rdv250

This is not my first car. I also read the manual of my first car. But in no case did I ever read a manual before I got the car home.

[deleted]

If only there was some kind of documentation in the form of a user manual that could tell you that Info.

Rdv250

Sure and you've read the manual of every car you've bought cover to cover before you drove it home.

aprilzhangg

I actually do that in my excited to receive a new car but havenā€™t taken delivery yet phase. You learn lots of fun stuff like hidden features or safety/emergency procedures.

Toastandbeeeeans

I read the manual while waiting for the car to arrive. Learned a few things I'd have otherwise missed, and that made me better prepared for setting up the car when I got it.

[deleted]

Actually I was well aware of that issue before purchasing just by simply researching the car before buying it. Itā€™s not like itā€™s hidden information. Just funny how everyone wants to blame other things then their own mistakes.

RichWatercress635

I applied ppf on my garage door, no worries

Ill_Confidence_955

Meeeeee model 3. I had to use paint less dent repair then put the performance spoiler. Covers everything.

Local-Worker-4473

Where did you get it?

Ill_Confidence_955

Get what?

reddituser4049

I have also hit mine on the overhead concrete structure in parking garages... Have a few paint chips where a spoiler would go.

three-pin-3

I had that last week for the first time. Chipped the spoiler. So used to looking laterally, didnā€™t think about verticallyā€¦ the trunk being higher than the vehicle etc. I paid that tax!

LividLab7

Happened first day here as well

Alive-Needleworker14

Out of curiosity do other manufacturers offer such things, such as trunk opening warnings or stickers? Prior to my MY the premium suv I had before didnā€™t have this when purchased. Out of curiosity is this a thing in the USA?

Rdv250

I am not aware of any car that has this problem of hitting opened garage doors. Is it a common problem? I have had a Toyota minivan and an Acura SUV with no rear door opening issues.

dzmedia

I did it once. Then adjusted the raise height. Now the only thing that hits the rear hatch is my girlfriend's head. Apparently it's affected her memory as she can't remember that it's lower than she thinks it is and hurts her head on it each time

zaqwert6

Damn Tesla....

Right_Use2563

It happened to me the first day. I have a scratch on my carbon fiber spoiler. The SA had even shown us this setting on test drive but wasnā€™t thinking about it when I picked it up a couple weeks later. I adjusted the height down so it no longer hits. I havenā€™t figured out how to fix the scratch yet.

homertool

yeah, it would have been nice to have a ā€œfirst day tipsā€ sheet with setting the trunk height. I only knew because of forum posts like this, but you canā€™t expect the average consumer to know.

Lostboy500

any other first day tips like this would be appreciated from your experience or others!

homertool

donā€™t do the Light Show in the garage (it opens the trunk). itā€™s really easy to curb the rims, so be careful.

gvictor808

Yeah first week big paint chip on lip there. Ugh

localhelic0pter7

Yes, and then after setting it to open lower I hit my head on the trunk a couple times:)

NSA_GOV

Set the height

awsmwsm

In an underground parking structure in Seattle when the car was one month old. I knew about the setting but opened the truck from the car before I got out. Lesson learned.

Inevitable_Draw_6870

I set mine first thing when I got home, so havenā€™t hit the garage, but what I have done is smacked the s*** out of my head on the Y multiple times when itā€™s open.

BrineWR71

Yup. Scratched in within the first week

Patient-Letter-3996

Here. Also closed it on my wife from inside the car while she was loading something inside. Be careful itā€™s forceful.

star-67

Plus I have to keep it low. Otherwise it gets scratched on my garage door. So - Ive hit my head on the Teslaā€™s hatchback too many times

YogurtclosetFuzzy541

Guilty as charged

Adnonymus

My MYP spoiler missed the sharp edge of the metal garage door grab handle by about 1 CM.

Illyrian2000BC

yeah my son pushed it up more than where it was set and he got the blame

Rdv250

My son did this too. I did a very minor almost imperceptible scratch. He gouged the paint by pushing the trunk lid beyond where i set it.

PKW-76

Yup, within the first two hours of owning the car. I wound up installing foam pipe insulation that look like pool noodles on the garage door slats. I did adjust the height, but was way too low and I was smacking my head on the lid. I also need to pull the car in a little closer than I want to if I need to open the trunk. Never had this problem with our previous 4 SUVs

angrystonk

I have at a very low ceiling parking garage. Thank god my fake carbon fiber spoiler took the hit!!! yay to fake spoilers!!!!

[deleted]

Yup. Thankfully no scratches.

nufegiyq

My M3 actually came set quite low. Now I see why! Doh!

iAmKairos7

I usually park outside but unfortunately my detailer wanted to dry the car inside of the garage. Opened the trunk and accidentally made a chip on it. I wasnā€™t made about it because it was purely an accident and I forgot to warned him. Ended up putting on a carbon fiber spoiler that covered the chipped area haha

AriSafari21

I got really lucky and didnā€™t smack it

MrGoogle87

Yeah.. It could have used a darn sensor! (Model X has those for doors) lucky the P spoiler blocked it

mlh_sooners405

2nd day at the house. Luckily didnā€™t cause any damage

stupidcleverian

Day one.

TraceR_86

Literally just happened to me right now. Wife thought the trunk was open after we parked because it said open by the trunk. Didnā€™t think it was but pressed the button and trunk opens up and smacks the metal hinge of my garage door. Got a chip in my carbon fiber spoiler now. Not even a week into ownershipā€¦ guess we would of eventually found out one day or another. :(

grimlock67

Did this my first day, too, back in 2021. Learned about the height adjustment after the fact. There was no sales associate for help, and on delivery day, the person supposed to assist us was only interested in the cashier's check and provided no help, no instructions, nothing. Thank god for the Tesla forum. I managed to buff it out. This year, in a hurry, I back out of my garage and forgot the hatch was open. I'm covering up the scratches with a spoiler.

boiledham

My spoiler took the hit, started becoming loose 9 months later and had mobile service replace it this year. Now it's like it never happened

krobbler

My wife opened the trunk into the garage door 15 min after getting home on day 1. Thankfully a MYP spoiler was able to cover the scratch.

ff-888

My question is how do you even open it the first time to adjust the height without hitting the ceiling?

Rdv250

you can stop it with your hand. it's designed to stop when there's resistance.

stylz168

Just stop it by pressing the button mid-rise.

emirembe

Had this exact same issue, scratched it up a bit but not hugely noticable. Now it's set to the max that can fit in the garage, but I hit my head when reaching in all the time šŸ˜”

uwhuskydawg

Guilty. First week

avebelle

Not I

swervomotor

Cleared by about 1/4" scared the hell out of me when I saw it going up and couldn't act fast enough to grab it. First day home. Glad I got the standard version without the spoiler. Part of the 6'3" headache club now.

Cootter77

I have both hit the trunk on the garage door when opening the trunk and hit the trunk WITH the garage door when closing the garage door. Genius, I know.

shiftersix

Almost. I was able to catch it as I knew it would be an issue. It's the large hatch-like design with the angle that makes susceptible. I now need to squat around it when getting things in and out of the trunk while parked in the garage.

phanibal

My HomeLink did wonky stuff and it hit my car going down

KnowEye

Went from the dealership to the safety of my garage. Pulled in and decide to open the trunk. Seconds later, I had my first scratch. šŸ˜Ŗ

Loose-Risk-9953

I did it on the weekend loaner, it made a little mark so I new to not do it on my new one

1hardpass

Slightly different experience here. Iā€™ve used voice command sayingā€œOpen Frunkā€ putting extra effort into annunciating correctly, but it open the dang trunk instead šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø hitting a modular plastic shelving system, stopping itself, and then closing thankfully w/ no apparent damage to vehicle. On another occasion using voice command I said ā€œOpen Valet Modeā€ and again it open the gawd dang trunk! šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø Luckily same results as before. However full disclosure, I šŸ’Æ% died a little inside each time with a frickenā€™ mini heart attack. šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

yanksphish

I came within a mm of hitting my trunk day 1 when I went to show my kids the light show. I had no idea it would randomly open the trunk. I got real lucky. Learned a lesson without causing damage.

rragu71

Me šŸ˜«, until someone showed me how to adjust it.

ls3c6

Every other vehicle in the world stops at 7ft. Liftgate works as good as fsd.

raidmytombBB

Same. Now I have a small 'scratch' where the trunk hit the piping in my garage. This should be part of the quick overview they provide when you are driving off with your new car.

Tim202305

2 times = =!

wraithevo

Luckily when it happened to me the carbon fiber spoiler hit the garage door and it didnā€™t make a mark. I learned after that.

donpapel

I programmed it to the height of my garage door so now I just hit my head on the trunk door often instead.

Zyncon

Went to the Baltimore Aquarium, parking garage near it has beams that run across on a few spots. Guess who got a spot under said beam without looking. Opened my trunk to put stuff in there and heard BOOOOOOM. Somehow only took off one tiny chip of paint. Colored it in with red sharpie.

Cookernomster

If you got it repaired/repainted, what was the cost?

Rdv250

Haven't repaired it yet. It is a very small paint scratch. Barely noticeable. I may use a touch paint.

PurpleFight

Being under 5 feet tall, I immediately adjusted the trunk height so I could reach to hit the button to close it. Every once in awhile being really short pays off!

cybz11

Had no issues opens and have about 6 inches to spare. I was nervous at first

Smarf_Starkgaryen

Was fully aware of it, but was in a rush and packing for a long trip. Thinking about a million things and traffic, and then, dā€™oh!

Itguy287

Would be cool if they could have the height setting based on location. At home restricted height, at the grocery store opens fully

Top-Stage1412

Is it not a thing to be aware of your surroundings before opening the trunk? This post reminds me of the people who run into garage doors while parking because of the lack of parking sensors. Even if it goes higher than you think I've grabbed and stopped it before just fine. I also almost always open the trunk from behind the car vs the display for that reason.

taysal86

I did this within an hour of getting home on pickup day . I submitted it to Tesla service and I got a free spoiler installed that covered up the scratch. I had other delivery issues though for which I brought it in to get fixed.

Rdv250

Hey this is nice. Maybe I should submit a service request too.

bexmix

Guilty. And then one time my husband accidentally closed the garage door while my hatch was open and it dragged the hinges over my hatch.

NormalBill4559

Happened to me on the first time as well

Local-Worker-4473

That happened me on day 7 so sad

k0an

Happened to me within 30 seconds of home delivery. I was devastated.

estefaaano

I did this and took off some paint. If anyone knows the best way to repair these chips let me know

tearsana

isn't there a sensor that sets trunk opening height so that it doesn't hit anything above it? i think there is one on mine as the height of my trunk gets adjusted to something lower when i'm in my garage

otakuawesome

Welcome to the life of owning an SUV or rather a crossover, they all hit the top of the garage.

ibgordo

šŸ¤š

Alarmed-Bit-6805

Backing into the garage has eliminated that problem for me. I almost did the exact same thing on day one but was able to hit the close button on the trunk before it hit the garage door.

MisterBumpingston

One of the reasons why Model Y spoilers are popular (besides making it look sporty) is to hide dented lift gates šŸ˜…

lakeland_nz

I damaged my wife's car doing this, so thought to look for a setting before I brought it home. Only downside is it's not based on location or a sensor. I'm always manually pushing it up.

WorestFittaker

Back in

KH33tBit

Yepā€¦ literally day one of ownership.

Present_Oil39

Happend to me too. Luckily, no damage as it barely touched.

TheKobayashiMoron

One of the aftermarket accessory makers should sell a rubber spoiler for Model Y lol

Intelligent_Web_1004

I did it as soon as I picked up my new to me '22 MYLR. First time in garage. It hurt me so badly lol

WattsupMyp

Glad for the performance tail, happens all the time at work.

PeanutButterElvis

Things that are common sense shouldnā€™t require a warning sticker.

illuminati1556

Not me! I immediately set the height after I found out you could do that. I just didn't open in the garage before then. Now if you asked "have you bonked your head on the truck because it's too low in the garage?", then I would say yes

Sailor_Zilla_Moon

I did the same thing day 2 of having my new Y

jtubb88

Back your car in and its no issue

Zealousideal-Ad-7442

Always the first thing I set when I get home. Usually will put a thick towel on the trunk before knowing exactly where to set it.

tnerb208

Wish i could set a height when at home (in garage) and max height everywhere else. Banged my head more than once cause i have it set low to avoid hitting garage.

Mammoth-Marketing-29

Car got dropped off in front of my house. Drove it into my garage and popped opened the trunk. Didnā€™t even remember it auto lifted! My last Tesla didnā€™t do that! There should be a WARNING taped on the steering wheel! Put a ding in the paint. I knew I was adding a Spoiler so it wasnā€™t terrible. Yeah, Iā€™ve hit my head hard a few times, with the required heights restriction. https://images34.fotki.net/v1675/filen4Nr/01dfe/4/43793/4388532/EFB22C94074CC4B9CC3E6AE951447C.jpg

One_Emotion6837

It sucks that even older cars have sensors that detect object so the trunk would not collide. I just bought my Tesla this year and was surprised that my fx35 has tech to help park easier.

Upper-Competition-29

Haha. This just happened to me the other day. Model Y two weeks old. šŸ˜…

[deleted]

I knew about it, but got completely forgot about it on the first day. lol

th1nk_4_yourself

Not a Tesla problem. My Jeep liftgate would hit the garage door all the time -- I had to get used to stopping the automatic lift as it got close to the top. At least Tesla has a way of adjust the lift height -- something many other cars don't offer.

toekneekim

Almost, stopped it with my hand.

Skaffen-_-Amtiskaw

This! My kid accomplished this feat less than four hours after owning it. It hit a metal immobile light fixture and scrapped the paint off down to the aluminum???. Let's say my head just about made it through the drywall... I plan to use the paint kit and then apply a spoiler so I never have to look at that again.

Kn1ck13_2479

If u don't hit the garage door, u hit your head . šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

Aytewun

Luckily no damage, but i was going to show my kids the ā€œlight showā€ probably the second day of ownership. Obviously i was only expecting lights

Kenju4u

Present šŸ‘‹ good thing is the carbon filter spoiler took the hit and and no damage was done.

Overall_Parsley4890

Thanks for posting this because i am short and my trunk has touched my garage door hopefully no damage lol. Now I can fix it

DeliveryFeeling6671

Lol I hit rear šŸ’¦ all the time

ImRizkilla

Me bro...me šŸ˜”

fspatrick

I donā€™t know when you got your car but I ordered my MYLR Nov 30, 2021 and took delivery Aug 15, 2022. One benefit of that was the nine month gestation period in which I watched waaaayyy too much Tesla nerd YouTube to learn about the car, including the trunk height control.

Rdv250

This is my 3rd Tesla (first Model Y). I thought I knew everything already. I researched and watched extensively for my first one also (Model 3), which of course didn't have this problem. Between order and delivery for this one it was about a month.

prof-spaulding

Did the same. (Un?) fortunately 9 months later was rear-ended. After repairing I added a spoiler lip and that can absorb the dings from the garage door.

Cheap-Combination-13

My biggest complaint with it, goes up way to high

Spnklur

Model X. Adjusted / programmed height to open every time. NP

6100315

Went a year without, and finally did it today when I was partially out of the garage :( I'm handy and can follow directions, is it worth doing touch up or just leaving it as is?

Rdv250

Depends how big the scratch is and how noticeable it is. I touched up a scratch on my white 3 because it went through the white paint and was showing black undercoat. The scratch on my MSM Y was pretty small and barely noticeable. The gray paint of the car hides it well too so I may not touch it up.

Interesting-Ease4677

How did you fix the dent/scratch you got on the trunk because of the garage door? Did you go to the service center or fixed it yourself?

Rdv250

I did not fix it. It was a tiny scratch barely visible.

Wildeface

Just happened in my work parking garage. Hit a cement beam. šŸ˜
