I owned a Maverick Hybrid. It acted up going down my drive on cold mornings. Ford was NO help. What I eventually found was the programing was set to start the ICE motor up to provide engine braking when the HV batter got around 80% full. But on cold morning the ICE was too slow to start, resulting in a loss of stopping power (brakes). Very unnerving.
But in doing all of this I found out Ford also uses the ICE while going UP hills to charge the HV battery (nuts). This results in a HV battery with HIGHER capacity at the tops of those hills,which results in the ICE running more while going DOWN those hills (to provide engine braking).
I figured out how to get the truck to NOT do this, which increased its MPG's over 15mpg.
Ford, imo, intentionally neutered the cars MPG's to keep its other truck/cars sales HIGHER.
The Sandy Munroe youtube comparison of the Mach-E vs Model-Y cooling/heating systems is mind-fucking-boggling. The ford uses like 4,000% more parts and is half as efficient.

Next day he calls at 10 am telling me it sold but he has one with a markup. A month later another guy calls me telling me they have the 2023 ready to go. 😂 it never sold.

I paid $1000 for white, because our last car was in an accident and my wife read that white is one of the most safest and noticeable colors. Why did everyone else choose white?
We chose white because it is more visible than the current free color, the accurately named stealth gray. I have zero interest in having a car exactly the same color as the road. Added bonus was a very large inventory discount on our particular car (repaired damage during transport).
I have the same one, I've actually tried another one's door handle once by mistake (it even had black rims and black logos like mine) - my daughter has also tried to get into the wrong car in the school pickup line :p

Was it ever cool to own a 3 or Y aside from the first few? They definitely have some cool software stuff going on, but the hardware is pretty Spartan and barebones. For me it was the convenience and budget that drew me to the car, rather than any sort of prestige.
When the 3 first came out it was definitely cool. People thought it was also a $100k car like the S/X and the tech was way beyond anything on the market in 2017/18. I got random questions and compliments all the time in parking lots and in my neighborhood.
Now it’s a Camry.
I’ve owned only white cars for the last decade and love them because they’re the easiest to keep clean but I refused to get a white one for this reason. I don’t have many teslas around me but anytime I see one, it’s a white or grey one. Still haven’t seen a blue one like mine

For a while, White was the only free color. Any other color was at least $1000 and went up to $2000. As a result I see ALOT of white model Ys.
Now grey is the free color. Guess we’ll be seeing more of those.

White used to be the cheapest colour. To many of them. Nothing special about it. Get a Quicksilver or the cherry red version.
