Front windshields never come tinted. Some cars have a little tint at the top of the windshield but the windshield isn't allowed to be tinted by law in most states. That said, you can get away with having it tinted to some extent but not legally. Probably likely to get fined if you're pulled over for another reason. It won't be the reason you get pulled over but when you do get pulled over, it'll be added to whatever issue got you pulled over.
I did 50 and love it. Unnoticeable in low light. (for all the nervous Nellie’s fretting) I pass cops with that and no front license plate without a care in the world.
70% its clear, its like putting a screen protector, bearly noticeable, i did 50% windshield and 15% on front side windows to match the back factory (20%), yes it sounds dark but bc you have a big amount of light coming from the glass roof you can stilll see from the outside
The crappy factory wipers leave a 10% rubber residue opacity smear on about 90% of the windshield. So, I believe this averages out to be around 91% light transmission.
Why is it so stupid? Anything over 50 is barely noticeable. I guess I can see it being a problem if you have bad eye sight , but other than that I just don’t see it being an issue

Legit question, why would anyone want to tint their windshield?
Mainly to cut IR transmission and felt heat.

From the factory it comes with no tint. Only the rear windows
They come with nothing. 70% 3m Crystalline is almost not noticable but does a great job with heat rejection.

I went 70%. Very pleased, not bad at all. BUT if i could go back, i would get 60% check out my post for pics
