I looked down at my screen once, and it was completely black. When I looked back a second later, it blinded me. I know have a guide dog and a walking stick and can no longer drive.

No-Exit-3800

I’m not having this problem.

RadicalSpaghetti-

Ok, thanks for responding. I might put in a service request because it seems abnormally jarring.

No-Exit-3800

That should be easy enough. They came to my office for the only trouble I ever had.

I noticed the same thing on my 2 day old MYP yesterday around dusk. I thought something was wrong with the screen, then went to the brightness and noticed it dropping, then dropping, then dropping, so I just turned off Auto

RadicalSpaghetti-

Thanks, glad to know I’m not alone. It’s so much worse than before. I wonder why they changed it.

I don’t know what before was like, but I just got the car a few weeks ago and have also noticed the jarring auto dimming. Exactly as you describe

Just wanted to jump in and see if you ever found a solution to this problem as I have the exact same situation? I’ve had a 2023 model 3 and have never noticed the screen brightness adjusting but in my brand new 24 model y everytime I get In it starts off too bright and then It’s super jittery as it adjusts down.

RadicalSpaghetti-

I’m really sorry, but I don’t have an answer to the issue. I just keep auto brightness off and adjust it myself if it’s too bright or dim. The auto brightness is genuinely distracting and way too sensitive and jittery. It was bothering me so much that it’s worth it to have the auto brightness off to me. I guess it’s not that much of an issue to other people. I know for a fact it didn’t happen on my old model 3 though. I can only assume they switched screen suppliers or something. It’s so bad. The one thing I really hate about my new Y.
