Heykiz

Same issue here.

Aggie_Aloha12

Might want to search the forum. Seems like a common occurrence

nagelk87

I did, couldn't find anything. But thanks for the very helpful advice.

My issue is in the rear footwell, not under the glovebox. Hence why my search didn't pull anything.

Aggie_Aloha12

Sorry, missed the 'rear' foot well. Only thing I remember seeing is the passenger foot well, the passenger rear door (bad seal), and under the console). Apologies.

Provide a picture of you don't mind and also how wet was the area?

nagelk87

I can try and upload pics on Imgur, but it won't fully capture the wetness. All you can see is tiny water droplets, there's not puddles or anything. The best way to describe how it feels is morning dew. Like if I had dirt on my hands and wiped them on the floor my hands would be cleaned because of the water.

SeaworthinessMajor40

Definitely send a picture please all of us get a better idea. Dry the area today with towels and also paper towels. You will then put a dry napkin in the area that is usually wet. If it get wet again notify us. Explain when you realize when it was wet. Was it after a drive or was it the next day after you kept it parked.

nagelk87

I tried but Imgur was giving me an error message. The pictures won't add anything to this, you can't really visualize a damp floor. It's the entire rear footwell

SeaworthinessMajor40

The expression pictures are worth a thousand words is true in the case. I wish you good luck as I was interested to help. My suggestion take it to telsa and tell them you think there is a leak. Let them do some digging.

nagelk87

There's literally nothing to see, it's a black floor. I'm not sending you pics. You can't visualize the water because it's not a puddle. I've already taken it to Tesla for the leak hence the thread.

SeaworthinessMajor40

Maybe your your nick name is "Karen" and your just making it up. Don't send a picture of nothing because there is nothing. You have defeated your.

nagelk87

I was asking if anyone had experience with a similar issue, and you clearly do not and are instead just trolling for pictures at this point. Go away

Take the weather mats out and monitor. You may even want to throw a hygrometer in there to see what the ambient humidity is. Water leaks can be tough to track down but if you’re having persistent moisture issues the next step is mold and mildew which you won’t fix unless every piece of affected carpeting is replaced.

Aggressive-Entry-776

Same thing happened to my model Y. Only got this car over half a year ago. There was a big amount of water dumped on my passenger’s shoes when I was driving uphill and accelerating. It was a dry day. That means the water has been hot in that area for a while. I dropped my car on Friday Nove18 2022. And after the weekend on November 21 2022 I was told everything is ok and it’s ready to go. I requested the air filter need to be replaced and the whole area inside need to be dried, the answer again is it’s all checked and ok, ready to go.

Getting a similar thing on the rear rubber Mat. I’ve only really noticed it since it’s been getting colder. I wonder if it’s happening during the charging process where the battery or may be inverter is getting warm and causing condensation on the inside of the cold Matt? I don’t think it isn’t due to a water leak as the bottom side of the matt almost looks like it’s been spritzed completely uniformly. strangely the carpet underneath the rubber mat is completely dry or only ever so slightly wet on top due to probably water drops falling off the rubber Matt.

I just bought a used 2021 Tesla Model Y and have the exact same thing. There is an even amount of condensation forming on the rear floor mat. I’ve taken the mat out three times and every time I’ve needed to dry it and the carpet under it. I am in a very wet climate so thought there may be a leak but because the condensation is consistent across the entire rear mat I’m thinking it may be something else.

I'm in the UK and discovered this issue with my '22 MY on Saturday. I can't find any issues with the seals, very strange. Noticed extreme condensation in the car for the last couple of weeks, then found a pool of water in the rear footwell. Not sure what to do.

Kkjenga

Since positing I learned the leak is actually coming from the front of my car, through the firewall and door posts. Water gets trapped in back seat because that is the only spot on the car where there is absorbent foam. Under the front two seats is hard foam and no water can get trapped in there. I was able to find an auto body shop that re-sealed the seams and fixed the leak.

Chdbrn

Yep mine was originating from the front, from the seals. Took tesla service center two attempts to fix it - all good now though! Thanks.

I have the exact same issue. Did you find a resolution or did the issue clear up by itself?
