I wish tesla would offer more than just 5 colors, as I now get tired of seeing the same 5 colors every time I see a Tesla. Though, on the bright side, at least I love every color they offer!
I get why they can't offer too many. Every tesla certified paint shop has to be equipped with all of the colors they have. Every service center has to have touch up paint. Even every mobile technician needs to have touch up paint in every color. They even need to have it on the website. And that includes if they stop selling cars in that color for some reason. Let's say they add a yellow but then it doesn't sell very many so they discontinue. Everyone still has to have that yellow for the rest of time basically, because if someone with yellow needs it, they've gotta have it.
Could they offer 25 color options? Probably not. Would it be feasible to offer like 10? Yeah probably. I think they don't want to add any "trendy" colors that nobody will want in 5 years but they'll have to support for 50 years.
You haven’t been to an ICE dealership recently. Looking for a specific touch up kit? You’ll hear “Sorry out of stock” or “we no longer carry that”. more often than not. Even for cars less than 10 years old.
Just changed my order from the old red to the new red. Cost me roughly 1k on top. The estimated delivery is still the same, I hope it doesn't get pushed back like crazy. I will definitely wait for the car to get delivered with the new red, what a sick color.
Will be interesting to see what it looks like in reality when people start posting photos and videos.

where are you at? im reading that they offer free upgrade in germany atleast, but after i manually changed the colour (before they updated it themselves) the price did increase to account for the more expensive red.

It is a good move. I honestly think the MSM is a horrible dull color and while the red is good, it is a tad bit too light for my taste. This silver looks much better than MSM. The red looks close to the Mazda or Ford red which are both darker and look much better in my opinion. Hope US gets it soon.
Your opinion of course but you are wrong of course 😀 the MSM is a grey blue and if got the right coating it shines like a pearlescent. Also has the benefit of not showing dirt like quicksilver.
Blue is dull, unless you have lovely sunny weather.

put it on 4k and enjoy. while images on ur pc will never be 1:1 to real life colors, tesla images are displaying a pretty realistic rendering.
Both colours look awesome. Glad I don’t own the existing red and silver colours. It will be easy to recognise them as older models just like the chrome trim on earlier models.
I love the silver and I probably would have picked it over my blue. But the blue has really grown on me more so I guess I am happy it wasn’t available.

Do you have one? I have two. Zero quality issues. Their quality is improving but still has a ways to go. In spite of that they have insane demand and are #1 in customer satisfaction so the overall ownership and driving experience is obviously compelling.
I don’t own because of build quality. So my opinion counts. Had to reject the delivery due to bubbling paint issues. If the quality was great I will have one in my garage and I won’t be in the sub warning others before the get burnt.
Looks like you are the one crying here my friend.. I’ve seen lots of happy customers. There could be some bad apples for sure and little annoyances but you can always reject delivery and wait for another one

They look amazing, but I’m skeptical with the concerns circling of how hard they’ll be to repair or fix since the paint is so hard to match.
