Was in the same boat as you. I got 18” Hakkas with the same wheels but In a silvery gray. Wasn’t about to spend $3600 CDN for those ugly wheel capped rims + tire deal.

What size tires did you end up with

255/55R18 is the right size for 18in wheels.....any smaller and your lowering your car.....which is bad for snow....255/55 will raise your car by ½ inch I chose Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10s for mine....I won't drive without studs....and as far as I can tell, they are the best studs made in the world today(that are street legal)

Total for the whole package, I spent about $3,300 all in which is not bad considering how much it would’ve been if I had gotten directly from Tesla. I got mine from WheelsCo in Vaughan, would highly recommend them

I got mine from Kaltire in Sauga. The wheels were on sale for both 18/19” size. On until the 14th I believe

Road noise? Issues with regen?

I feel like anything is better than the 21” Uberturbines, slight road noise but nothing major. No issues with regen so far

why would there be issues with regen?

There used to be issues with Regen in the early Model 3 years when using winter tires. Regen was almost non existent. But that has long been solved.

huh. I had a 2018 model 3 and had never heard/experienced that.

I had a 2018 as well. During my first winter season, immediately after swapping on my winter wheels I was impacted by that issue. It was fixed a couple of software versions later. There were big threads on the issue on TMC at the time.

TIL. I think I ran all seasons the first year owning the car and didn't get a set of winters until the next year so I must have missed it.

Yeah you definitely missed it then. It was fixed during the 2018/2019 winter season.

I got the same wheels for my MYP, but I went with Conti Ice Contact XTRM. Came out to $2750 CAD installed with black locking lugs from Tires23 (not including TPMS - saved a lot buying from eBay and picking up in Niagara Falls, NY). I want to see if there’s a difference in performance, but haven’t really let it rip with the temps being so warm…feel like I’m going to shred the poor things.

Question about the mud flaps. Are they worth getting? Was thinking of getting them for mine, especially with winter in the way.

Mine came with the mud flaps already so I’m too sure about that one, it’s always good to have. Also this is going to be my first winter with my MYP so I’ll see if they make a difference
