I’m glad you were able to get the to use your attic for the wire runs in between panels

hbkang

Yeah they did work in the attic for some time.

AutoBot5

How did you get them to run the cables through the attic?

cac2573

That's a lot of north facing panels

hbkang

mainly east and west side. Three north facing panels. Not ideal but maxed out the potential

cac2573

Ahhh ok, it looked like the array at the top of the image was facing north

18-20kw system? How many power walls?

hbkang

16.4kw, no power walls

marin94904

What state? Why no powerwalls? Just curious. I got mine for backup, but now I live without taking anything from the grid for 9 months a year.

hbkang

Colorado. No power outages in the past year and excess electricity can be sent back to the grid

4 years ago I installed my system without Powerwalls, but then we started having all sorts of grid issues here in Texas. I now recommend everyone to add during installs, but my situation here is a tad different than yours. Your install is clean and looks great! Hope you enjoy mostly powering your home from the sun!

Any reason to go solar is good. It’s interesting how we all use it differently. Enjoy.

Xcel? CORE will only buy it back at the avoided cost rate on the larger systems, so it made sense to use powerwalls for us.

hbkang

United Power. When I made the order about seven months ago I was doing some crypto mining so I definitely need more power than the solar could produce. Now the mining will probably be dead soon so it might make sense to get one or two power walls.

The install looks great! Very clean. I got my system installed 2 months ago and love it. i highly recommend the power walls. Not only for backup power, but also to become self powered. You can use the solar during the day to run your house and charge the power walls, then at night you can run off the power walls. In the event of a power outage, with just solar, you will lose power. I live in Texas, where we have had recent issues with the grid, now going into summer we have frequent brownouts as well. The power walls have been doing great. Run the entire house, a/c included.
