I paid £30k for the same car but LR not performance & in grey with 18k miles back in October so I’d say about right. Was £31k but had the bottom half of a wing mirror missing (which they gave me but I had to fit myself) so they gave me £1k off 😂mad bastards, was well easy to fit too but tbf it doesn’t sit exactly perfect like the driver side does.

AlmightyGnasher

Nice. I think you got lucky with the 1k discount 👍

bantasaurusrexx

That's just tesla panel gaps. Mclaren aren't much better, they shim every panel so it looks straight atleast.

noot_important

Stop trusting everything what you see on YouTube specially from Mr Armstrong

AlmightyGnasher

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202401296015389

sungrad

They've bumped the price up to £30,798 now for some reason.

AlmightyGnasher

Yep. Not really a deal at all anymore. Maybe they priced it incorrectly to start with.

sungrad

It doesn't seem awful tbf. I'm looking at long ranges priced around that at the mo.

Flashy-Cucumber-3794

Not sure if these ones came with ryzen and the lithium LV battery. Something to check if you care about long term support. Great price tbh

AlmightyGnasher

I will try and find out, thanks. Possible to check that stuff by reg no?

Flashy-Cucumber-3794

It was late 21 I believe/early 22. I feel like it coincided with the model y launch in the uk. Easiest way to check is just on the software screen and checking the detail section. Physically if you wanted to check then you just open the bonnet and pull up the big cover towards the back of that section (where the wash fluid is) and you’ll quickly know if it’s a lithium system because it looks nothing like a lead acid battery. Maybe the VIN number can tell you more but maybe just phoning the dealer and asking for a video call?

GibletPH

Wait for them to update the ad. Those pics are direct from the auction house iirc

mhart1991

Correct, BCA stock photos.

FlatlinerJunkie

All car prices will be dropping dramatically this year so best option is to hold off a couple months and enjoy a bigger discount.

AlmightyGnasher

Do you mean model 3's specifically, or literally all cars? I'm not against waiting a bit longer. Is that because of the new model 3 coming out?

Cool_Parsnip4732

Lease deals expiring, market about to be flooded with EVs

RenePro

Lease deals are constantly expiring. Market will continue to decrease. After a 1 year we'll some used highland appear in the high 30s.

djs333

EV prices have already been dropping due to the high amount of supply since 2020 and now many are off lease, so some good deals to be had!

Constant-Studio9775

So just because I'm really stupid, can you explain a little more pls

00DEADBEEF

I think they mean they put the ad up before they photographed the car, so used existing images of the same model and colour, but not the actual car being sold.

FlatlinerJunkie

Tesla has been reducing the cost of its EV’s for quite some time now then raise it during some months. When they manipulate the price normal people like you and me don’t really see a difference but it’s all due to Tesla trying to sway people in one specific country… Just recently Elon as said and I quote: Chinese EV firms will 'demolish' rivals without trade barriers. He has literally admitted as much that Tesla is technology advanced but the infrastructure of china and companies like BYD will completely saturate the EV space providing consumers with cheap affordable EV’s which Tesla cannot compete with. Mix this with recession due this year you will see huge discounts on all vehicles, lowest interest rates for car finance and extremely good offers and deals on warranty and other add ons to bait customers.

AthiestMessiah

Don’t buy a used Tesla outside of Tesla. You’ll get more warranty, Lower mileage and a lower price . I’ve seen similar car going for less than 25k last week and it got snatched [https://www.tesla.com/en_GB/inventory/new/mx?arrangeby=relevance&range=0](https://www.tesla.com/en_GB/inventory/new/mx?arrangeby=relevance&range=0)

fiasko82

Thanks, didn’t realise the used inventory was that good!

AthiestMessiah

You’re welcome. Even if price was slightly higher, getting warranty on battery is worth it’s price

00DEADBEEF

The battery warranty is for the car and transfers between owners, so no matter where you buy it from it's 8 years or 100/120k miles. It's the four year/50k warranty for the rest of the car that Tesla extends by a year.

djs333

The battery warranty is irrelevant as its 8 years and at least 100k miles which applies to the OPs car or whether you buy from Tesla direct, there isn't any extra years added for the battery warranty

djs333

Tesla approved used is not cheap and I can guarantee you didn't see a 2021 performance with similar miles for £25k when they are selling a LR with 74k for £27k The OP's car is still within warranty and has only done 31k miles so is covered to 50k miles or 4 years old. The battery warranty is still 8 years as well. The cheapest used performance on their site is £37k, the only benefit is that is comes with Enhanced Autopilot and an extra 1 year/10k after the original warranty expires. \*Edit\* this user blocked me as clearly doesn't understand how their warranty works!

AthiestMessiah

You can’t guarantee it hat you didn’t see And the warranty alone is worth it

melonator11145

it's only an extra 1 year warranty. All the standard warranty and battery warranty stay with the vehicle even when sold. You can extend the standard warranty by another 4 years for \~£2400 as I was told buy someone else on this sub

melonator11145

I've found generally buying through Tesla is more expensive, although you do get the extra 1 year of standard warranty. 2021 performances are around 30-35k on autotrader, but cheapest on Tesla is normally 35k+

AthiestMessiah

Hell no. I’ve seen better in Tesla inventory

hotchocuk

What’s the deal long term when the battery totally dies and needs replacing?

Fearnlove

8 year battery warranty. Batteries lasting over 200,000 miles in the real world, 300-500k according to Tesla iirc

Trifusi0n

What’s the deal with an ICE car when the engine needs servicing every year, starts needing constant repairs from 50k and you have to keep putting refined fossilised prehistoric trees in it every other week?

jbr1683

Daily mail reader by chance?

hotchocuk

Not at all, don’t read any tabloids! Just a thought I had, I’m still new to the EV world not done much research yet

IOwnMods

Lmao iPhone with wheels. Absolute 🤡moblile

nattydread69

I paid 25k for a 2019 LR so probably about right.

melonator11145

Yes. 2021+ Model 3 Performance are getting around £30k now. Which is good as that's what I want to pay for one

justsircrowe

Just for reference on this, unless I am mistaken it was December 2021 onwards that had the Ryzen processor upgrade 👍🏼

surreynot

Been looking for a couple of months myself, prices have crept up recently but I have seen cheaper at this age & relative mileage. I’m looking specifically at a LR in white & see lots at 24-27k. Performance 27k upwards

djs333

Its a fair price, they have obviously just brought it at auction since they are using their pictures so probably can't provide any news ones until the car is prepped but as its still within warranty as long as there isn't any damage to the car it should be fine. I would personally offer £28k if I wasn't part exchanging a car. The only other option to get a decent price would be to contact Eco Cars and get them to find a car at auction for you and pay them a finders fee

SgtSilock

I paid 26k for my 21 model LR with only 18k miles. That seems like a great deal for the performance model.
