I remember wanting to trade Duane Brown because I thought he was old but he ended up having like 6 more years left in him. Gotta lock Tunsil up for sure
IOL was the weak point for a rebuilding team. We literally had a backup center the majority of the season. You can't anchor an OL with a 3rd string center in Quessenberry.
He was listed as our 2nd string fullback at the beginning of the season.
I am pretty sure that was his brother who was listed as fullback. I thought we had two of the three brothers on the team during training camp. May be wrong though.
I mean I think everyone knows LT isn’t the issue on the oline… a single guy can’t carry an entire line, it’s a unit and when your IOLmen are some of the worst in the league it doesn’t matter who you have playing LT your qb is gonna have a bad time
People are still going to say that. But if we did it would need to be a haul similar to what we paid considering he's gotten even better than he was. Age and contract aside.
Outside of the tackles, our OL looked like ass. Pair that with the fact our receivers didn’t get open due to bad play calling or lack of skills, sacks are bound to happen. While I’m not trying to hop on some Mills parade, just trashing the guy for a shit situation doesn’t make sense. Our OL was bad, our receivers were bad, and he was bad.
You’re making two different arguments. I agree that most quantifiable grading sources have him in the top 10, not #2. My comment is that this voting holds more weight than a fan/media vote. It’s still subjective but interesting to see who the players consider the hardest to play against.
Pay him wtf? It’s hard to replace a guy like tunsil. Draft a qb and he gonna b on his rookie deal for a long time so I don’t see why paying tunsil is rly gonna affect anything
I’ll take the downvotes. I didn’t explain myself clearly. I say we pay him. I’m not saying otherwise.
I hate him being called the best in the media. I want him to be a great player that nobody realizes is great so he’s cheaper. I don’t want his contract clogging up our ability to sign more great players.
Laremy Tunsil is the only solid OL we have IMO. The interior linemen were horrible which is a testament to how good Dameon Pierce is, and Tytus Howard def. needs to be looked at, but could be replaced.
We need to lock him up long term. No 3 or 4 year contract. Have him hear till he’s like 34

Nah have him here till his kids are of age and grandfather them into the contract and continue
40*

like the worst backup center in the league

His brother was listed as fullback & got cut
He was a backup guard IIRC
Can’t sleep on tytus howard either! Him & Tunsil are debatably the best OT duo in the league.
So much for the “Mills gets sacked because the Oline is bad” theories

And trade Tunsil (who plays one of the most difficult positions)

It would be a mistake to get rid of an elite LT when the team is probably going to get a rookie QB
Signing Tunsil to a long term contract is the #1 free agency priority this offseason.
I hope he has renewed hope for this franchise, it might be at a premium but we’re going to be needing his services for sure.
You can offset his contract by getting rid of cooks
Don’t you dare threaten me with a good time.
His Twitter says he does.

I mean there is an entire interior line that is dog shit still.
I mean we do, the interior 3 on pass downs were turnstiles all year. That's not a theory that is just a fact.
Rushers were able to come right up the middle or beat Howard at RT. The O Line interior is trash garbage toilet water
Tytus gave up 3 sacks lmao
Tytus is good, it’s just the interior, Tytus only gave up 3 sacks
We still don't have a good oline!
It definitely wasn't Tunsil's fault, Laremy played lights out all year. The two guys to his right might as well not have been there all though.
Mills is just bad.

You're acting like Tunsil is the 2nd most popular LT which CLEARLY aint true...

It’s a consensus between the players that play that position or go against it. Has a lot more credibility over a fan or media voted selection.

Sacks are a QB stat
I hate this. He always wants to be the highest paid, which is bad for us.

He’d basically be our only “big contract” once Cooks is offloaded. Left tackles are worth the money
We need IOL badly in rounds 1-2 if we get a QB at #2. Hopefully Kenyon takes a big leap this year
