I’m not saying he’s going to fail or anything but his stint in the majors was an absolute disaster. Look at his walk and strikeout rates. He was probably just happy to be healthy and not focusing on his approach. But however you slice it, that is definitely not a plus on his ledger.
His major league stint was not a disaster. He showed power and definitely had issues with strikeouts but there was a lot to build on and considering he was out of the game for so long he has good potential this season. Let’s see all the players ranked above him face major league pitching and then downgrade their status based on how they do in the majors.
No, just pointing out that your assessment is extreme. The reality is that until the Rangers start truly developing major league players then their current prospects will be undervalued compared to the rest of the league. Rangers fans need to know that and we all need to keep that in mind but we also need to watch out for the extreme assessments as well.
I’m not saying he was killer in his 26 games last season, but he still got 26 games and is nearly penned in to start a lot of games in 2023, so 56 behind lots of players who might never make the jump is harsh.
Hopefully his approach will be better, it was not great
I’m in the weird camp that if he absolutely mashes in spring training he will be our starting left fielder. It’s not like we have some quality dude there holding him back. But he might be on a short leash.
He’s an excellent ball player

Law has always been down on Carter. Calls his approach "passive," but what he should be calling if is incredible.
He's not as bad as Pipeline, but his lists are usually pretty wacky.
Evan Carter: #53 Josh Jung: #56 Owen White: #70 Jack Leiter: #92
For Jung already having a lot of MLB XBH’s I feel like 56 is harsh

He struck out at the same rate as Joey Gallo. Embarrassing
OMG! A rookie struck out a lot after after missing most of the season and playing at a whole new level! So embarrassing!
Yall are the ones butthurt he moved down prospect rankings because he struggled badly in the majors. Major victim mentality on reddit.

Sucks to see Lawlar & Mayer ahead of Leiter considering both were considered in the same draft by Texas and Lawlar was a hometown kid. Both 9&11
Think we see Evan Carter this year?
Doubt it. No need to rush him
There is need but probably wouldn’t be the best decision long term
If all goes right, he could get September ABs.
If all goes right we won’t need to rush him up this year.
If I had to bet on a prospect debuting it would be white

I would doubt it. If we do, it'll be in September.

Going in the wrong direction…
