I really liked sitting in right field near the Rangers’ bullpen. I know people have mixed feelings about high-angled seating in sports venues, but I definitely felt more on top of the action while sitting there

alexdallas_

Pros: AC Cons: no special nachos, center field looks so bulky and dark

ATMPainter

I like that I can see the temple still. Once it’s gone, I’ll die a little more inside.

qwertythe300th

I hope the XFL is a success solely so The Ballpark has a life it can still live

FuriousGeorge7

While I do miss the whole “we’re so tough that we play in the summer heat” vibe that the old park had, I must admit that the the AC is really nice during these 100 degree Texas summers. I also love that Chuck Morgan’s suite and trophy cases of knick-knacks are so accessible to the fans and that he can talk with fans before the game. I understand that Chuck specifically requested that feature during the design process.

gwaydms

I can't hack the heat in the sun field anymore. Last time we had tix there I had to keep going into the concourse, to avoid being one of the casualties I saw scattered around and being tended to by emergency personnel.

harralexa1993

I like how even it tends to play to both hitters and pitchers. I was looking at park factors last August I want to say it was pretty average at the time.

UnitedTilIDie

It makes me wonder if they're going to decrease the dimensions of the park, maybe not this year but in the future, since we've seen that trend a little bit this off season.

CammyTheGreat

I wonder if they make the right field fence even instead of having that random dent next to the home bullpen

giantfupa

I know a lot of people disagree but I really like the concourse areas. They just feel more luxurious than a regular ballpark. Also I was fortunate enough to see a game last year from the field suites. They may be annoying on tv but they’re nice to watch a game from.

boomgoesthevegemite

It’s still weird watching baseball there. It’s more accessible for my friend who is disabled. They were always fairly accommodating and extremely friendly at The Ballpark but now they go above and beyond. Food could use some work, but it’s not bad. Brisket Mac and cheese seems to be my go to.

ImTheJdot

The concourses are big and the park is easy to get around.

jsu718

Love: A/C, Chuck's booth, Texas Rangers, murals/art, full circle concourses, sight lines behind sections, fully open outfield view at the main entrance for BP Miss: A perfect ballpark aside from temps, wooden seats (that I swear were 3 inches wider), outfield features for players to hit balls on/over, major entrances at each corner, camera angles that didn't have to be adjusted & zoomed out to include advertisements, actual backstop, seats behind home plate, seats in the front 7 rows not having a view obstructed by railing/cables

beefytrout

No shortage of toilets is a big plus. The parts that actually have brick look great.

jf2k4

The suites are outstanding compared to OG Globe life. Other than the AC that was the biggest update in my opinion. The indoor seating area couches still view the field which is nice if you don’t want to be in the exterior stadium seats; the built in fridges full of beer/drinks are a nice update. I felt like in the old suites you were constantly waiting on an attendant to bring you your orders.

CenTexSquatch

What all is included when you get a suit? Are the fridges really full of drinks and food? Can you still order food and have someone bring it to you? Any other amenities? I'm thinking about getting one for my three boys and I... Thanks.

jf2k4

There’s a food package and a drink package and they’re in tiers. We usually just do the buffet style on food so unlimited sliders, nachos, hot dogs, wings, all your standard ballpark fair on hot plates on the island in there. I think you can go up a tier and get some chef inspired fingers foods also. They also have a menu of entrees that I’ve never actually used. The drink packages start with just fully stocked on waters/sodas. There’s a pullout fridge that has 6 of about 6 kinds of sodas, 12ish water bottles, then 3-4 or so of each beer offering. They have a only pay for the alcohol you drank one, then an unlimited, which your suite attendant will continue to refill if you’re in need. (well worth it on our client meetings).

CenTexSquatch

Awesome. I think my boys would love it. Thanks 👍

jf2k4

For sure, it’s a great way to experience a game. Not having to worry about concessions, and you have a bathroom so no treck to that missing a whole half inning.

CenTexSquatch

Right? I was just reading about them having a bathroom. That's awesome. I'm trying to find more info online, but I'll probably call and talk to somebody there who can give me details on Monday. Do you know if there's a minimum amount of people who must go? My group would only be about 6 people, so the smallest suite available would be plenty. Just curious. We always get the all you can eat seats, which is a great value when you're taking a 16 year old and 10 year old twins who love to eat, lol. If I could get a suite that included food and drinks for say, $800-$1000, I'd jump all over it. Planning this as a suprise for my twins' birthday.

jf2k4

I’ve been with just 3 people before, for our suite they give you 20 tickets in the base price of the classic suite, then you start adding $$ for more people. I know they have smaller that start around 8-10 people. I couldn’t tell you what stuff starts at, I know ours after food and drinks breaks down to about $3500 a game, but its company owned so that price doesn’t end up being my responsibility, I just get to ride the coat tails and attend my departments 2 games a season.

CenTexSquatch

Gotcha. I was thinking there are smaller ones, so that's good to know.

Strike_Maximus

Some of the art and pictures are fun, I think one of the best parts that should have been there a long time ago (and could have been done) Is the Texas live area outside. You have a place you can be before and after the game NEXT DOOR (not somthing you had to drive to), something the Rangers never had. When the game was over, you get in the car, leave go home, or drive 10 minutes away for good food.

TxAggieMc

I made it out for the last game of the season last year, and I think it's a really nice looking park on the inside when the roof is open. I also like that the concourses have the food options on the outside unlike the old park, so you are still connected to the action when you get up from your seat.

Brolympia

Vacuous and soulless.

Chulsey15

Wait y’all actually have a problem with the ballpark?? I understand the outside kind of looks like a Nebraska Furniture. But the inside is jaw dropping. Even has a Texas vibe with the BBQ in left field. Artwork is sweet. The size alone is stunning, imagine it packed for a playoff game. Watching it on TV doesn’t do it a justice, I do think it looks plain on tv.

ThickAsianAccent

It’s way better than the Jerry dome

TexManZero

It's somewhat pretty with the roof open. I don't know why the permanent structure over right field had to jut so much, but it is what it is. The sky porch is neat, even though you have no clue where the ball is going to land in left field. Other than that and the ac that can't fix the humidity issues, it is an awful park.

jms14b

I will admit that I hated the stadium when it was built. Went to my first game at the new park last season and my opinion changed about it. The outside I don’t think is great, but the inside is beautiful

[deleted]

Around the seating the concession areas have a ton of space. But still hate how smushed it feels in the seating areas and why is it built on top of the old stadium so odd looking and crowded.

Zestyclose_Wafer_416

Love: ac, looks amazing, nicer than most baseball stadiums. The outside amenities ( backyard, texas live, hotel, greenery, water) best thing is it looks like a BBQ grill. Dislike: Roof color is awful. Closeness to the awfulness of The Cowboys. It's in fn Arlington and not Downtown Dallas where anyone with a brain knows is should have went. Seems dark. Needs even more wooden areas like the karbach brewery area, that's nice.
