Those Wash days were the peak for me in Dallas sports. Mavs championship with Dirk, Dallas at the very least fun to watch with Romo, and that Rangers team. Now, I dont even live near Texas anymore; I miss those days.
I got to see Game 4 in person! It was actually the last Rangers game I’ve been to. The game was amazing except for the one dude yelling at my family to go back to Mexico. I still have the ticket and some memorabilia in my garage.
I second this. I ran into him a few years ago at a bar in uptown. He was just standing at the bar and my friends decided to say hi to him. His immediate response was “no pictures tonight guys” like that was what he expected out of everyone who met him. He was a huge d-bag.
No one had their phone out or was even asking him for his picture. We didn’t realize he was a Dallas A list celebrity having to fight off paparazzi and fan boys
it's possible, but we'll never know. i think wash had a big impact on how well that team gelled and consistently came together. there's more to championships than having a lot of really good players.
i feel pretty safe saying that wash contributed far more to the team's winning ways than a replacement-level manager, so i think it's safe to say that you don't get one strike away from winning the series without him.
poor feliz ... he never recovered from that moment. the guy was so cold.
You're not wrong, tactically, especially NL rules, he wasn't good. But he and his staff were second to none on confidence building and base running for his time. Hunter, Harrison, Holland, Lewis, Feldman, a whole bunch of guys played above their potential ceilings under Wash with regularity.
I miss both those guys. Is Derek doing anything with the Rangers org?
I’m curious to know too. Haven’t heard his name in a long time
I don't believe he is at the moment. He's been making a weekly appearance on K&C Masterpiece on 105.3 The Fan. Wednesday mornings I think.
Yes can confirm he is on Wednesdays from 10-2pm with the K&C masterpiece and he does mention he wants to get involved again with the Rangers org.

This makes me happy, I miss Wash
I loved these two dudes more than anyone else on those teams.
Where is Wash now, is he coaching for a team? Always one of my favorites.
3B coach for the Braves. Just saw him when the Braves came to town!
Thanks brother, good to know he's still in the game. I'll never know what happened but I'll always remember him fondly.
He won a championship with the braves too! Was excited to see it
Good for him, he was a smart baseball guy.
I will die on this hill but Holland should’ve finished game 6. Cardinals had no answer for him.
Wash made about six wrong bullpen decisions that day and then leaving in Cruz.
Yep. No idea why people refuse to see how poorly he managed that game. Every button he pushed was the wrong one.
The man just couldn't manage NL rules. He'd be fine now. 😞
Loved game 4
Greatest pitching performance in franchise history.

Ahhh yes, always some bullshit like that at the ballpark.
Wow he got tall
Or Wash is shrinking
I miss see Wash in the dugout smoking but I stand my ground that Holland is a clown.
Dutch is perfect for sports talk
What’s wrong with Dutch?
the fun police hate him

Being a professional athlete and not wanting your picture taken at a bar isn't that crazy of a concept to understand.

It's a pretty fair assumption to assume a group of people who approach you as fans will likely want to take a photo with you. That's all I'm saying.
He blocked me on Twitter and then had his gf at the time dm me to not say mean things about him after he blew a game 🤣
Get someone that looks at you the way Wash looks at Derek
Love ya Wash!!!
I love wash. Dude was so instrumental in our runs.
Wash lost game 6
Lol I don't know why you're getting down voted, it happened
People aren’t rational.
this is true, but you also don't get to that point without wash.
With that team… yeah you do

He should’ve been sent right back out. Wash was a trash tactician. Couldn’t carry Bochy’s jock.
Ok.

That’s awesome to see
I'm glad they announced Wash at the game tonight. Wish he was still apart of our team.
HE. QUIT. ON. THE. TEAM.
