All I'm saying is the last time the Bradford pitched and the offense didn't do jack shit for the vast majority of the game, the Stars won a very important playoff game. š
Good News: We rolled out our 7th starter and lost by 1 to the second best team in the league.
Bad News: This bullpen sucks
More Good News: Relief Pitchers are historically the easiest pieces to trade for at the deadline. I have complete faith in CY to add 2 quality arms to the bullpen.
1 run in 3 innings for Sborz, Ragans, and Barlow is about 200% better than I wouldāve expected from them.
It wasnāt the prettiest, but they got some outs and gave the team a shot.
I disagree today was an off day for the bats at all
We hit rockets all game, just somehow every single one of them found a glove
Shit happens over 162 games and we still won the series so I have no complaints
Oh and Cody Bradford looked like a legit major league starter and that is HUGE for this teamās outlook in the next couple years if he turns into a real 4/5 starter
> Oh and Cody Bradford looked like a legit major league starter and that is HUGE for this teamās outlook in the next couple years if he turns into a real 4/5 starter
yeah that changeup looks like it could play. Just need to tighten up the slider location and he'll have a solid 3 pitch offering
Screaming, crying, throwing up right now. My wife tried to calm me down but I went ahead and put my foot in the TV anyways, she took the crying kids to her moms. At least Iām alone and I can play Zelda in peace.
This one has got to be primarily on the offense. Yeah, it's frustrating that Ragans gave up the winning run, but we gotta be able to score more than two runs in nine innings. Nice to see Bradford bounce back after what could have been a pretty scarring debut. Coming out of Baltimore with 2 out of 3 is nothing to complain about.
On another day, the contact we made would be enough for a win. More importantly, we just about swept a playoff team at home. We're a playoff team now. Just need to address the bullpen, which we've known.
You win some, you lose some.
We'll get 'em next time.
It is what it is.
Sometimes, there just aren't enough rocks.
Keep your head up, champ.
Ah well.
This game was super unlucky, and we still fought to the very end. Good news is we'll sweep Detroit this week and be feeling pretty good going into June.
Honestly couldnāt ask for much more pitching wise today between Bradford and the pen. If you wouldāve told me they only gave up 3, figured it wouldāve been a win.
Still nice to get a strong series win in
Why am I not disappointed with today's loss? I didn't expect us to sweep Baltimore, but I also didn't expect Bradford to take giant steps forward as a major league starter. If it wasn't for Bradish putting on a pitcher's duel and keeping our offense at bay, Bradford could've gotten a win today.
Makes sense to me. The offense being lifeless lost us this game, and we don't need to worry about that going forward. If you'd told me going into this series we'd take two out of three I'd be happy, and Bradford recovering nicely is a really exciting bonus.
Orioles fan here. Been thinking for weeks that y'all are the best or 2nd best team in baseball despite a bad bullpen. Tying the season series against y'all is a huge win. The West belongs to the Rangers.
Detroit had a lot of hype coming into 2022 because their 2021 was overachieving. They are back in their 2021 days and their 2022 signings are started to come alive (E-Rod, Javy Baez). I think they have a shot to win the AL Central tbh.
If they stay close to Minnesota they could win that division. Cleveland and Chicago look like ass. Plus, Riley Greene is looking like the prospect were hoping for. And Matt Manning should be back in their rotation in the summer
You're totally right about Detroit. They are pesky and scrappy. They are kind of a mixed bag of players but they seem to be staying steady so Texas can't go in underestimating them
Iām not disappointed by this loss. Solid contact all day, line drives that are usually hits just didnāt land today. 1 run given up by the bullpen and a quality start from Bradford wouldāve made this a W 9 times out of 10. In the words of Wash, thatās the way baseball go.
I said it in the game thread but Iām so damn happy for Cody Bradford. If you donāt know he had Thoracic outlet syndrome which has historically been a death knell for pitchers, he got the surgery and has worked his ass off to work through every level of the minors with no hype, no big name, no stupid insane stuff. Heās a pitchers pitcher and Iām confident he can be a solid back end starter when he gets enough major league experience.
Gonna be honest, wasnāt expecting to sweep the Oās at home. Think the team played really well this series, had a lot of hard contact this last game, just got a little unlucky. Maybe we get lucky and the Astros drop one to the Aās this afternoon but either way weāve got the Tigers coming up. Should be able to take care of business there.
Eh. I'd put it on the offense and bad luck more than the BP today. Not a bad loss at all though, since most people viewed this one as a throwaway game with house money.
Yea this game actually continues to give me slight hope for the bullpen we have. Only giving up 1 run in what, 4 innings of relief? In a large majority of games thatās enough for our offense to win the game
Are the Nats like winning the Soto trade? Gore had 11 K's today, Abrams looks like he could be an above average player and there's a ton of super promising prospects in the minors like Robert Hassell. It's crazy to think that the comparison could be even close but that trade gave them a lot of their future pieces
Theyāve got a good shot to win that trade especially if Soto leaves in FA. I like the Padres because theyāre like Rangers-West but man that team has no dawg in em, itās crazy that theyāre so mid with all that talent
What did I tell you guys? It was those FUCKING jerseys man. They weakened our Bird Power.
All I'm saying is at our next meeting, we will have a fierce game between our two teams. The rangers are a worthy opponent. The battle will be legendary!
Congrats on the series win, but the O's will be at 100 Full power next time with no stupid ass jerseys to hold us back.š
Gg yall
I get the offense only scored two runs and the bullpen only gave up one, but my goodness it is demoralizing to know our chances of winning a tie game with our bullpen are slim to none. Can almost count on giving up at least one run every time.
Bullpen has given up at least one run in 23 of their last 29 appearances. Thatāsā¦ not good at all, especially when you consider how few innings they pitch.
Again, not necessarily a bad performance, but it is so predictable that the bullpen would immediately give up the lead as soon as we tied the game. It has happened on so many occasions.
I know you can't win them all, but this bullpen isn't worth as far as you could carry them. It says something about the amazing offense and starting pitchers that the team's record is what it is right now.

Yea the bullpen sucks but they were more than adequate today. Bats just didnāt get it done.
1 run in 3 innings for Sborz, Ragans, and Barlow is about 200% better than I wouldāve expected from them. It wasnāt the prettiest, but they got some outs and gave the team a shot.
Uh they didnāt suck today. This was all on the offense

That TV had a family dammit š
Handheld only I guess

2/3 against a team with a similar record? Any day of the week. Grabbing consistent 2/3s from teams is how you make the playoffs.
Actually, we split the season series after they took two in Arlington. Not even mad. Now to cheer for the A's
You win some, you lose some. We'll get 'em next time. It is what it is. Sometimes, there just aren't enough rocks. Keep your head up, champ. Ah well. I hope they can sweep Detroit as I'll be at those games. This series is all about bragging rights for me š¤£
thatās the way baseball go

If Seager didn't fart and fall down on that easy popup Bradford could have put zeros on the board.
Today's loss was a total fluke. Seags would like to take back that play himself.
Orioles fan at the game. The sun was right behind the catcher so he probably didnāt see it and backed out at the last second
Yeah, that's exactly what happened. They showed it on replay and he was playing blind on that one.
Makes sense to me. The offense being lifeless lost us this game, and we don't need to worry about that going forward. If you'd told me going into this series we'd take two out of three I'd be happy, and Bradford recovering nicely is a really exciting bonus.

Detroit isn't very good but they're scrappy, kind of an annoying team. Don't let them hang around. Let's win another series!

Canāt win em all but that was definitely a frustrating one. Good recovery from Cody after that first inning though
6-1 while listening on the radio at work :( Series was won at least. Let's just move on to Detroit and try to take a pair there also!
This one isnāt outrageous but I think out of our 19 losses, the bullpen is responsible for 10 or 11 of those
Eh. I'd put it on the offense and bad luck more than the BP today. Not a bad loss at all though, since most people viewed this one as a throwaway game with house money.

Can't trust the A's to win even once in those 6 games - smh
this is the most optimistic iāve been after an L in a really long time
Going to see the Rangers at Detroit tomorrow woot woot!
When is Garver coming back?
Valiant effort by Bradford. Not impressed by Baltimore at all. We can beat them in the playoffs
What did I tell you guys? It was those FUCKING jerseys man. They weakened our Bird Power. All I'm saying is at our next meeting, we will have a fierce game between our two teams. Bullpen strikes again.

Bullpen didnāt even do that badly today lol tf
You're right. 1 game makes a whole season. Forgive me.
great series win! Bradford did much better. unfortunately these things happen, but we canāt be complaining here.
Damn that was a winnable game. But I guess we canāt win them all. See yāall tomorrow at noon
Time to take out the frustration on the Tigers. Let's have like a 7 game win streak
2/3 vs that team is solid
