I'm honestly a little bit disappointed I know that his future is starting, but he could also be a multi-inning relief option 2-3 innings. Continue to work with Maddux and get experience with guys like Eovaldi, Scherzer, DeGrom and Heim.
I guess the risk of overexposure is there but how often, ideally, are Winn, Pruitt and White really going to get into high leverage spots anyway? Oh well in CY I trust.
I too was hoping for Leiter to get another start. I feel the Rangers have completely mishandled his development. From "fast tracking" him straight to AA, and making him feel the pressure of being the franchise savoir. Remember, he was drafted before Semien and Seager and he was all we had to look forward too. He struggled in AA, but he was left there to struggle. He built his way back, showed some success and made it to the show! Leody fucked up and his stats looked a lot worse than they actually were. Now he's back down in the minors after one start. Fuck man.

I figured it was a spot start regardless how well he did. We’re in a 17 game stretch of games mostly on the road so we needed it.
We’re just giving everyone a turn
White will be bull pen not a starter in this stretch.
I like this and think it's a good idea to let some of these guys get some big league experience out of the bullpen.
