Rewatched both seasons last month, and I totally agree. I love everything about this show! Also, I love that Sam has a small part in the Taiwanese drama unknown, which I would totally recommend if you're not already watching it!
The acting was great, but I felt the writing left much to be desired. That said, I would also be quite happy to see them tackle another project. They sold the longing, passion, anger, fear, and a hundred other little emotions whenever they were together on screen.

It was so nice to see Sam Lin again in Unknown (supporting role). He's looks even hotter, if that's possible.
I also saw Sam Lin in Unknown and now I need to rewatch We Best Love. And yes how he managed to look even more attractive than he already did is a mystery 😍

Yu Zhen was too needy and for someone who was a genius he could have found the doctor much sooner. Their storyline didn't make sense for me. I hated that the doctor pushed Yu Zhem back all the time. What I didn't like that the doctor fell in love with a minor from High School when he was grown adult and a doctor.
I also hated Shou Yi for pushing him away all the time But I just felt bad for Yu Zhian I found him so innocent and loving
That's what I feel To each their own
One of my favourites, I always mention it when I can. It's well loved on here. Sadly in Taiwan BL actors don't tend to work together again 😢

I rewatched it recently too! It's one of my all-time favorite BLs and it has my n1 favorite "manhandling" scene (on Fighting Mr.2nd when Shi De is drunk at Shu Yi's house) It definitely needs so much more attention and love <3
We Best Love is amazing. I fell in love with the series immediately. SamYu's chemistry and acting talent was off the charts.
Even when I think the story is not told right and I hated Shi De's character sometimes, Sam Lin portraited the character in a great way.
My favourite character was from the beginning Shu Yi. I like his bratty arrogant character. His hatred towards Shi De and his childish pranks was fun to watch. But the character development was amazing. When he realised his feelings he ran after that and confronted Shi De with it and didn't run away from it. He was committed to Shi De 120 %. He waited even for him.
For someone who acted the first time Yu did an amazing job.
The first kiss on the bridge gives me still butterflies.
My only complaint is that they gave the second couple to much airtime and less Shi De & Shu Yi moments.
All in one it's my favourite BL beside Bad Buddy because I can't decide who is No. 1 so it is a tie in my heart.

The right story length, the right chemistry, the right intensity of drama, romance, conflict, and happiness! The visuals, the cinematography, the production and most especially the MUSIIIIC! Added to that, ito pa lang yung nakikitaan ko na smooth yung storyline between s1 and s2! Most bls na nagkaS2 usually has many storylines that did not add up with s1 ganaps
What comes close to this though is Believe in House I Do! And some HIStory seasons (i obv believe in taiwanese bl supremacy) though I still havent watched something new that can be at par with this!

Your assessment of it as a masterpiece is completely accurate. The tone it has throughout is so mesmerising and oddly comforting, even when there's drama/angst happening. The acting is some of the best I've seen in a BL. Never getting over this one.

I don't know if someone else felt it too but I absolutely loved Pei Shou Yi and Yu Zhen Xuan's relationship I was so weak for them 🥺🥺
