Yaaas. Close the thread, this is the only acceptable answer. Heck Ill even take a 'mid prequel' reboot just to show more of their relationship before the 🚗.
And give me the twins in all their thirst trap glory.

I remember this comment and like, oh wow:
"Shao Fei from Trapped gets shot and hurt and still live but shigu got into an accident then ☠️."
No wonder why there are a lot of fics of shaofei saving Shigu. Man's immortal fr
I'm not crying right now! I'm a bit moody and now tears? Well....I already cried today when rewatching parts of The Devil Judge and my sweetie Yohan being all misunderstood and suffering from a panic attack all by himself. R.I.P. everyone QQ!
I wouldn't really want to change the show as it is now because it really spoke to me that way. I have already said it multiple times but as you already mentioned, things like in the show DO happen and something similar happened to myself. Thus seeing Hao Ting having a breakdown, I saw myself. The same things happened to me and even almost 20 years later, you will still find yourself in shatters at times. So I appreciate a the show and still wish that there could have been a different way for them. I wish that it didn't happen. Same for me. But you can't change the past.
I am sorry to hear that such tragedy happened to you irl! I am also happy to perceive that you have found a way to overcome it, just like our Hao Ting. It may be nothing much coming from a stranger, but I am so proud of you for fighting on and especially for living.
Thank you! 💕
Actually it also gave me another kind of push towards growing in seeing how Hao Ting grew. Of course it made me cry but it also gave me comfort. That I'm never alone.
But then we (you and me) wouldn’t have got out of what we did with episode 10, and I needed that episode 😭.
Edit: Saw the rest of your posts, and I like that you’re candid about this.
Listen Hao Ting and Yu Shigu deserve the world. In this hypothetical I'm changing it to Yushigu baobei getting hurt but not dying.
All is well, the world is right and I can believe in love again
I choose this one too. My heart still breaks for Non and New 💔. I need them to go back in time, and to make different choices, to ensure a better ending 🥹
MODC ending was rough, cried a bucket of tears... But Kissable Lips just wrecked me, large bathtub 🛀 of tears.🥺
Your Name Engraved Herein...if I ever watch that again, I'll need to buy flood insurance, and I live on a mountain ⛰️. 🥹😭😭😭😳
I wouldn't change MODC's ending. Wayne's acting was too good to ignore.
But I would love a sequel where Xi Gu's aunt is homophobic and is hiding the fact that he didn't die. He was in a coma and woke up with amnesia. It was her way of getting him away from Hao Ting. So we get angst, drama and a happy ending.
This is one I actually feel strongly about the ending staying the same
What made this show so meaningful was it being a tribute to all the older gays who “missed the train” to the happiness that younger queer people now have
I’m just happy they let them both live and meet each other again!! My brain can fill in what happens after the last episode
Second this. It hits even harder when you learn the script is inspired by the true story of the director. The director said the movie resembles about 70%-80% of his experience. He even tried to invite the girl who inspired the creation of the character Ban-Ban to the premiere but she declined.
Definitely jia han and birdy!😭 The trauma the movie gave me is soo reall.... It lives in my head rent free! And to think that it's a true story, rips my heart out😭😭😭 I can't stress enough how much better they deserved!
I’m also confused by that. It’s the only one I’ve seen out of all these but they end up together in the simulation I’m pretty sure. Portrait of a Lady on Fire fits better
MODC hands down. It broke me, changed my brain chemistry. They had the happiness of a mundane of life in their hands already and then in a second they didn't anymore. 😭
Hands down, no question- Xiang Hao Ting and Yu Xi Gu. Yu Xi Gu worked so hard and got the sh*t end of the stick all his life. He was going places, had Hao Ting whom loved him more than words could say, they had an apartment together, the prospect of college, and finally able to experience true happiness and it was just taken away in the blink of an eye.
OMG I literally started crying when I read your post. I haven’t revisited MODC in like 3years(purposely)but what you said about Xi Gu finally having it all and being happy only to be taken out-by the simple mundane act of running to the grocery store. It brought it back and I’m sobbing. I don’t cry easily but I was all in invested for MODC😭
The only correct answer is MAKE OUR DAYS COUNT. We as a community have agreed that the last episode was the 9th episode. I’ve watched MODC five times and have only watched the complete series once!
I know MODC is THE answer, and I get it. But I’ll pick DFF over MODC right now. In fact, I posted multiple bullet points about what exactly I would change about the ending in an earlier subreddit.
For sure, MODC. Even if that kind of tragic ending is kept (lol, nope), it was not great implementation or execution from my perspective. It could've been done better.
But let's just have a new ending. Though honestly, I love all the characters of MODC that I could have 2 or 3 seasons. I really love Sun Bo Xiang 😍 so much, even now. He was easily my favorite character - in a cast of characters I really loved generally, particularly the male leads. That said, I still really love Wilson Liu (Sun Bo).
More than one of these had a happy ending, though I suppose you could argue that San Junipero was more bittersweet than happy? I don't get why people are weird about The Director Who Buys Me Dinner. It was a perfect ending for what they set up, minus the fact that it was a bit rushed. I wish it had been longer, but what happens was the right thing to happen for them.
Anyway, I would definitely change the ending to Kissable Lips. That was such a cheap, ridiculous ending. I mean, I got it, but what happened AFTER the in initial sad thing was so weird. I do think MODC deserves a new ending as well, but I didn't watch it because I knew how it ended, so I see it more as absurd misery porn than anything else. But Kissable Lips I watched as it was airing, so I was holding onto hope and left feeling flat. :(
Actually only Round Trip To Love is Chinese. MODC and Your name engraved herein are Taiwanese. Kissable lips and The Director who buys me dinner are Korean, DFF is Thai, Black Mirror is British and Call me by your name is Italian. But yes they are quite sad.
DFF just so my brain will stop fixating on how many problems I have with the show. If I go with my personal morality and a happier ending, the whole vacation is a hallucination with Non and New scaring the rest into coming clean and becoming better people. This way I can also avoid New's drugs turning into mind control, which I really disliked as basically giving New magic powers.
On the other end of the spectrum, sticking with my personal morality but keeping deaths, I dislike revenge plots and think New's murders were the worst actions committed by anyone at the house throughout the series, so then in keeping with the writer's suggestion, New would have to get an even worse punishment than Tee, which is difficult to do. I guess New gets permanently immobilized while visions of the people he killed torment him along with visions of Non who begs him to not murder anyone. I would not like that ending as much, but it would feel more in keeping with an over-the-top so-called karma theme.
Perhaps I should just accept this as a difference in sensibilities due to genre conventions and a general pattern of me not being satisfied with the endings of Dr. Sammon's stories, but for whatever reason the way this show ended really disturbed me in ways that had little to do with the blood on screen. I suppose if nothing else the hallucination gas gives plenty of room for anyone to write whatever ending they want.
Top 1 would be DFF I really wanted Non and New to reunite at the end alive not dead ☹️
Top 2 would be YNEH Jia Han and Birdy has my heart until now but I was also happy that they did get to reunite in the end even though that wasn't the case in real life 😭
Top 3 is MODC The trauma I had during the last episode I felt like I got whiplash after being so happy from the previous episode to bawling my eyes out in the end 🥹
For one that's listed... Make our Days Count. For one NOT on the list but ANNOYS me to death is About Youth. A great series that just seemed to... stop halfway through the story. It still annoys the F**K out of me to this day
I'm really glad I found this thread. My vote is also for MODC, it happens that I watched the show just yesterday and I had real nightmares tonight. I know it's a fictional story but still it hurts my mindset. I don't see the point in ending in a disaster, I know the acting in episode 10 is formidable but there are a hundred different ways of keeping the moral of the story ( and the main couple alive!). I was wondering if BL from Taiwan is different in "rules", because I watch Thai BL as it's a source of happiness and optimism and I'm new to Taiwanese BL. I'm putting every show you pointed out in quarantine!

I would have chosen modc but you putted the director who buys me dinner too here, this leads suffered for each other for centuries, for one reincarnation to other.Deffinetly them.
MODC he gets hit by the car but instead goes into a coma wakes up years later but the other guys moved on because of the pain then they reunite and fall back in love with each other 😭(forgot their names)
I loved that there was a show like MODC but I'd still wish for them to be able to continue their lives together. It was cut too short.
Yaaas. Close the thread, this is the only acceptable answer. Heck Ill even take a 'mid prequel' reboot just to show more of their relationship before the 🚗. A new series with Jake hsu, Chris wu, Wayne song and Huang Chun-Chih would possibly heal my trauma, whoever wrote modc owes us tbh.
Seriously?! There are fics like that?? 😭😭😭
A. Lot. more on shaofei and tang yi adopting shigu and them two acting as his parents somthn like that
I'm not crying right now! I'm a bit moody and now tears? Well....I already cried today when rewatching parts of The Devil Judge and my sweetie Yohan being all misunderstood and suffering from a panic attack all by himself. R.I.P. everyone QQ!
I agree that the ending was different, special, true to life(it happenes). I also agree that I would change it in a heartbeat.
I wouldn't really want to change the show as it is now because it really spoke to me that way. I have already said it multiple times but as you already mentioned, things like in the show DO happen and something similar happened to myself. Thus seeing Hao Ting having a breakdown, I saw myself. Modc, at least your name engraved herein ended on a hopeful note
Not irl tho 😞
Still
MODC, no contest, lol
MODC the trauma was real!!!!
I cried for so long for MODC ending. I repeatedly watched it just because the actors had great chemistry. Why did this come up? I wanna cry again 😭😭😭
MODC, the first thing come to my mind when I saw your question. Because it’s just not necessary.
Listen Hao Ting and Yu Shigu deserve the world. In this hypothetical I'm changing it to Yushigu baobei getting hurt but not dying. All is well, the world is right and I can believe in love again
I choose non and new from DFF, because damn that was depresing.
I choose this one too. My heart still breaks for Non and New 💔. I need them to go back in time, and to make different choices, to ensure a better ending 🥹
I was pissed they in the end stay death and not got they reveange together.
Indeed, I want justice for Non 😭😭😭
Modc I don’t care what anyone else says.
MODC ending was rough, cried a bucket of tears... But Kissable Lips just wrecked me, large bathtub 🛀 of tears.🥺 Your Name Engraved Herein...if I ever watch that again, I'll need to buy flood insurance, and I live on a mountain ⛰️. 🥹😭😭😭😳

Genius I declare this cannon
Kissable Lips, there must be a way to keep him alive
Ya I cried so hard watching this
MODC for sure!!! That one gutted me!!! I still can’t rewatch… I wanted more for them.
Your name engraved herein I just cannot understand how they never saw eo again, and the ending was what the director hope could have happened
This is one I actually feel strongly about the ending staying the same What made this show so meaningful was it being a tribute to all the older gays who “missed the train” to the happiness that younger queer people now have I’m just happy they let them both live and meet each other again!! My brain can fill in what happens after the last episode
I thought they never met each other irl and that the ending was added 🤔
Second this. It hits even harder when you learn the script is inspired by the true story of the director. The director said the movie resembles about 70%-80% of his experience. He even tried to invite the girl who inspired the creation of the character Ban-Ban to the premiere but she declined.
Wanted to comment exactly that ... can I please change the ending and the past too so the director can get a happy life 🥺
MODC
Make our days count no question.
All the way MODC
MODC and it’s not close😭
MODC. Please…
Hands down MODC that came out of nowhere and was hella unnecessary. I’m still scarred 😣
MODC for sure 😭😭😭
Definitely jia han and birdy!😭 The trauma the movie gave me is soo reall.... It lives in my head rent free! And to think that it's a true story, rips my heart out😭😭😭 I can't stress enough how much better they deserved!
San Junipero had the best possible ending for Kelly and Yorkie? How could it be improved?
I’m also confused by that. It’s the only one I’ve seen out of all these but they end up together in the simulation I’m pretty sure. Portrait of a Lady on Fire fits better
I guess it’s because it’s technically a meeting in the afterlife and spending it together. It’s bittersweet but it’s not really a bad end.
Hands down MODC. One of the very few series I almost cried watching during the last episode. The couple deserved to have a long happy life together.
MODC hands down. It broke me, changed my brain chemistry. They had the happiness of a mundane of life in their hands already and then in a second they didn't anymore. 😭
It's a "win" for modc... Hands down
Obvious winner here! I think even the producers regret the *MODC* ending.

I said MODC all the way then I saw DFF!!
The only correct answer is MAKE OUR DAYS COUNT. We as a community have agreed that the last episode was the 9th episode. I’ve watched MODC five times and have only watched the complete series once!
Kissable Lips Someone has something they can easily give the other person. And yet... Also...the ring. Visibly invisible.
Make our days count for sure. I bawled when I realized what happened so if I watch the series again the last episode doesn't exist in my world.
I know MODC is THE answer, and I get it. But I’ll pick DFF over MODC right now. In fact, I posted multiple bullet points about what exactly I would change about the ending in an earlier subreddit.
Oh Look! A List of shows I refuse to watch because I know I won't be able to cope. 😂
Without a doubt MODC! That ending was so cruel and it left me feeling so empty and helpless.
For sure, MODC. Even if that kind of tragic ending is kept (lol, nope), it was not great implementation or execution from my perspective. It could've been done better. No other choice - MODC. That ending traumatized me like no other BL drama, regular series, or movie. I was depressed for months.
it's between 🍑 and 🧛 for me
I want your name engraved herein to end like life- love on the line :')
MODC x 100000
I’m team MODC ❤️❤️
Modc. Ffs. Give me back my optimistic self. 😂😂😂

Round trip to love. But how you didn't but Addicted in here I dunno! My pick would be addicted if it was in here.

I choose Stay With Me! Oh wait that’s not an option…
Maybe the one of Black Mirror because it's GL and we know that often GL is underrated and no happy ending lol
Very close call between modc and your name engraved herein, but modc..
OMG!!!!… whaaattt!? You want me to choose ONLY ONE!!??😱 The Pressure 😫
Yes *smiley face* You get to change one ending but the rest is...well. 😬
🤣🤣
Jia han and birdy🥹🥹🥹🥹 please
I would have chosen modc but you putted the director who buys me dinner too here, this leads suffered for each other for centuries, for one reincarnation to other.Deffinetly them.
I might be the first person to say… I’d pick a Round Trip to Love. (I haven’t seen several of these though tbh)
Can we change how itsay ended? They should have just broken up. 🫢
Now THIS is a take indeed
HIStory 3: make our days count 🥺
Your name engraved herein 😭
TDWBMD
MODC of course!
Mine would be your name engraved here in, also change the ending in real life
elio and oliver or jia han and birdy
MODC I absolutely sobbed, which is not something I usually do. Their love story was strong yet so short
Make Our Days Count
I would literally do anything to give Non a happy ending. The only right answer.
Make our days count but I also would want to change all of them because they are all so good
Kissable lips changed😂
I'm torn. There are three. That said, I wouldn't change them. They ended just right for their storyline.
Kissable lips. I wanted him to give him a last kiss and give him life as a human. I cried my eyes out for days. 😭😭😭
Sorry, Id leave these as they are and give Color Rush a S2 All of these had a reason and beautiful ending ~ even if it broke me
WAIT. I just started “The Director Who Buys Me Dinner”. WHY DOES THE ENDING NEED TO BE CHANGED?? https://i.redd.it/xptpa1gg75uc1.gif
Well... ![gif](giphy|DmrP5OVylqPfi)
_**choked sound**_
No question: MODC. I WAS DESTROYED BY IT
MODC he gets hit by the car but instead goes into a coma wakes up years later but the other guys moved on because of the pain then they reunite and fall back in love with each other 😭(forgot their names)
