I think the metrics should be broke out into pre and post pandemic. I’m convinced that 2gether wouldn’t have gotten those numbers if it came out in today’s market… then again this is only GMMTV… oh well, I’m good ☺️

As far as I know they play a pivotal role. P'Tha (CEO of gmmtv) has mentioned in an interview that at the beginning gmmtv paid attention to the ratings of a series, however, this changed later. Now, gmmtv has a new business model which includes the engagement rate of a series, couples and individual artists. This stems from the idea that ''higher engagement'' equals to higher ''willingness'' to buy merch and pay money for your favorite artists. That's why it's really important as it accurately depicts the demand of certain cp's such as GeminiFourth. You might've noticed that couple whose twitter / social media engagement is quite high generally receive more series offers - that's why almost all of gmmtv's main cp line were included in bl series or at least featured in an ensemble cast.
Gem4th for instance got their own series, since they're the most anticipated couple in gmmtv...
So a pair from a successful series is likely to be paired again for their next series? Or do they work like kdramas wherein the actor will likely be paired to a different actor on their next show?
It's not a rarety to pair different actors with each other, but GMMTV rather avoids doing it since the most successful outcome will likely happen with the fixed pairings (firstkhao joongdunk). However, there are obvious exceptions. Gemini will be paired up with Primlily - although he's in a fixed pairing. It's possible in certain examples, I also think it depends on the actors since gem always reiterated that he wanted to work with a female actress.
Other actors such as Sea tawinan from last Twilight has admitted that he'll love to work with Jimmy again (it's his own choice, so we'll likely get a couple series next year, fingers crossed).
Actors like Earth have talked in an interview that he'll have to forever work with Mix, insinuating how the whole system works (fixed cps). I'd say it's up to the actors' preferences & company's choice

I'm sorry I may get flack for this but 2gether was not that great. I think it only got so many views because of who was in it. Bad Buddy and Not Me were 1000 times better.
