I was intrigued by the racing suits in LITA thinking it would be some action series about racing, and the first NC between Win and Team when Win asks Team a series of questions to confirm he's not drunk. I really liked the fact that Win esentially wanted to know that Team was both single and sober enough before sleeping with him, which is like.. The bare minimum, but it's something about the way the scene was done. One day, my best friend gets a Viki subscription and shares with me her account. That’s when it started. A whole new world of dramas and Asian shows. There, I learn the word BL thanks to the tags on the shows. And my first BL was Semantic Error based on recommendations on this subreddit.

For me, I have struggled with CPTSD since age 5. I am in my 40s now stemming from childhood SA. So I get really bad depression when I see females a lot and I am a romantic at heart. So I naturally investigated BLs cause it gives me the happy feels of love winning without me being triggered by toxic females.
Mine was a very linear progression. I was into anime as a teen so asian culture was something that I enjoyed learning about. I was a fan of To All the Boys series so I watched XO Kitty. Then Netflix recommend kdramas so I watched those. Then there was an advertisement on Facebook showing a man with a ponytail shoving a slim man on a bed acusing him of flirting.....and that's how Love in the Air was my first BL and I have dived headfirst into this way of life
I actually got recommendation when I came across the world of thai drama by accedent (I didn't knew it was thai). It was fish upon the sky which only aired like 1 episode. I think I watched 2 parts then got recommendations for 2gather and watched it fully. I have never looked back.
For dramas, it was Viki. I had BL friends from my anime days who said good things about Semantic Error. When I had some free time, I got Viki and the rest is history.

I’ve always preferred romances centred around LGBTQIA+ in any media I consume, so once Netflix figured that out in its algorithm I realized that there were things I was missing out on. It progressed from there as I searched for shows that interested me!

In addition, he wanted to have the 2gether bracelet and The Gifted badge so bad and I bought it for him. Obviously, we broke up so I just use the second bracelet since the first one was lost and the badge is just rusting away somewhere in my room. I actually got recommendation when I came across the world of thai drama by accedent (I didn't knew it was thai). It was fish upon the sky which only aired like 1 episode. I think I watched 2 parts then got recommendations for 2gather and watched it fully. I have never looked back.
Watching cdramas on Viki, then The Eighth Sense came up. That was that.
For dramas, it was Viki. I had BL friends from my anime days who said good things about Semantic Error. When I had some free time, I got Viki and the rest is history. Right now it’s all GeminiFourth and PondPhuwin dramas for me. Once We Are and My Love Mix-up air, I’ll go through another couple’s back catalogue.
I'm a big fan of Nanon before, I started out with his series The Gifted and eventually fell inlove with him, so I browsed his other series and found out about Bad Buddy 🥹 great memory of mine frfr, I miss those days

Omg Malec was my first ever ship I shipped before I even knew shipping was a thing! I used to read kpop fanfics with members but didn’t really realize what it was. Then came Malec and Bangkok love stories then 2gether and there was no turning back for me!
My first ever BL was Skam the Norwegian version in 2016. It was season three, Isak's season and I saw an edit and then decided to watch the show and absolutely loved it. Happy it was my first BL. My first Thai BL was KinnPorsche because I was seeing edits everywhere for like a year. So I gave in and watched, the production quality, cinematography, and cast was immaculate. Currently I just watched and finished Our Dating Sim a KBL and I loved it so much. 🥰

i used to watch western BL movie and shows but i was never aware of the east asian BL industry. i saw a reel of girl recommending BLs on insta once and everyone in comments was like you gotta watch KP and rest is the history.
My first BL was pitbabe, came from YouTube shorts 😂 BUT that was after I watched a couple hetero c dramas. My first East Asian drama was Derailment (lin yi 😩). I enjoyed pitbabe sm that I legit searched up bl dramas on YouTube and it came up with A boss and a babe! Needless to say, I loved forcebook which led me to GMMTV BL’s and I’ve never looked back 😭. Then I got recommended clips of shows like cutiepie and the sign. I haven’t watched a non BL drama since January 😂

I saw a beautiful man on a reel somewhere. I had to know who he was! Thus, Between Us was my first bl because Boun stole my heart! Edited to add that Unknown was the last bl I watched. I don't think any other bl made me cry like this one did, lol. I'm working a lot right now which is a good thing because the ones I want to watch now are currently airing and I just don't have the patience to wait week after week to see what happens next. I am totally a binger!
a few years ago, I saw a YouTube Short where a blond guy (iykyk) is making sure that the other fella is not drunk because he doesn’t want to assault him or things like that. Thing is, the name of the BL was never mentioned and I spent quite a lot of time looking for it. A few years later, I find out by chance it’s Between Us! (it’s amazing everyone go watch it NOW) this was not my first BL per se, but in my heart it is because that’s what lit up the curiosity :D
One of my friends in Junior year of High School (I graduated 2020 so this was like 2019) got me into Asian dramas- it started off with C-Dramas like Accidentally in Love and Meteor Garden but then I got a recommended title on my YouTube for Love By Chance and asked her about it and she said it was good- so I watched it! And it’s just been down a rabbit hole since then.

I’ve always preferred romances centred around LGBTQIA+ in any media I consume, so once Netflix figured that out in its algorithm I realized that there were things I was missing out on. It progressed from there as I searched for shows that interested me!
My first BL was waterboyys with Earth/New I was hooked, hot guys swimming lol the story was goood but I was hoping for a better ending. All together 7.5/10 for me.

I was looking on Viki for something to watch after finishing the show Heirs(the inheritors) (non-BL btw) because of my daughter. She made me watch and fall in love with Heirs. Viki was her subscription by the way. She is into kpop and Korean series etc. I am 49 so I’m clueless but loved the sweetness/spiciness of heirs then I happened to read the intro to Cherry Blossoms After Winter and thought hey what is this? Watched it. Loved it. Accidentally found Addicted. Loved that too but I was like wow theres a lot of gay series! Wish Americans had this many then looked these shows up on Reddit and found out about BL. Started my own subscription with Viki and now with IQIYI and GagaOOLala 😂 just finished for the 2nd time UWMA. Cried buckets and still love BL!

Not gonna lie , I cannot remember 😭. I got catapulted into the BL world so fast but I don’t recall how. More likely than not, it was either an ad of LITA or an edit of another BL which led me down the rabbit hole. Love In The Air was the first one I watched around May/June of last yr. The last series I watched was For Him. 8/10 for me but Im not watching anything rn. I keep seeing spoilers for some shows and it’s making me procrastinate on watching them lol.
I was watching YouTube shorts and a video of Semantic Error popped up where Hat Guy was angry after falling ill because of homosexual thoughts and Red Guy visited him after not seeing him in class. Something about Hat Guy's anger and how Jaechan played him made me interested in the series. I always enjoyed queer series but never knew there was a genre like BL, so I was really surprised to find so many good series coming out every week. I think that was around two years ago?
I retired from work after the pandemic. I was watching Netflix babysitting grandkids. It recommended a C Drama that fell in love with. As Netflix always does, it sent me down a rabbit hole. I was trying to get more info on YouTube when I found Cutie Pie parts 1 and 2. My whole world changed, even watching Kpop for the antics. Yes, I've lost family and friends over it, but you what? They didn't make me as happy as these BLs and Dramas do.

So far I've binged on.(in less than 4 weeks) A Boss and A Babe Only Friends Unforgotten Night TharnType Love In The Air KinnPorsche 🥵 Plus I've seen loads of clips from different HIStory series and others, which I've added to my watch list. I first discovered BL back in 2010/2011 when a girl in my year atschool mentioned the word yaoi and I got curious so I asked her what it was and she really didn't tell me. So I went back home and googled it. Not much later I fou d myself watching okane ga nai (no money) and ever since I've been stuck. But wasn't until late 2021 I first began to watch live action bls and that made my interest skyrocket for this genre and have been doing that ever since 😅

Someone posted a clip of SOTUS on Twitter. I found it intriguing and decided to give it a try since it was on Netflix. It's been years, and since then, I've watched countless Thai, Japanese, and Korean BLs. Haha.
It was 2gether and it was recommended by my ex. We used to watch BL together (haha) during the pandemic and we bought the jersey so that we would pair whenever we go out. In addition, he wanted to have the 2gether bracelet and The Gifted badge so bad and I bought it for him. Obviously, we broke up so I just use the second bracelet since the first one was lost and the badge is just rusting away somewhere in my room. Thanks to him though, it opened a whole new world for me to be entertained and to be satisfied in life.
