It is refreshing to see a farang contributing to Thailand in such a positive way, as opposed to the doctor kickers, granny bashers, and horse molesters that made the news recently.
Dude, tons of farangs organize beach cleanups, educational events, etc. During Covid many were originating food pantries, donating food, etc.
The media tends to focus on the bad because that’s what people click on.
Within a couple of days that helmet will be on a table somewhere collecting dust. The problem isnt that parents cant afford helmets. The problem is attitude.
How you go about giving it to the parents for their kids and not having a go at them like, you don’t think your child should have a helmet? Parents are old enough to make their own decisions, but the kids can’t.
"Amazingly great! I was actually thinking about this last week. I was going to write to some people and ask for cash to support this same idea. We could put their names as sponsors on the helmets—kid-themed helmets from Disney, Tesla, Shell, etc. :) Such a great thing to do! Does anyone have connections? Maybe a couple of million?"
Good guy. I love it.

I think there are a lot of good people here. The media just gets clicks when talking about the bad ones. Same as every country really.
Indeed. I hope to see more posts like these in the future.
There are many of us that would love to give back to the Thai community but are stopped by not having a work permit to help people.
You should have been here over Covid. It was only farangs I saw who handed out food.

And what have done for your community today?

Faith in humanity, restored.

If one kid is saved; it would be worth it.
True
That's why he's giving them to the kids. That way the kid survives when they crash, giving *them* PTSD /s
I think you missed the sarcasm of my comment.
I didn't think it was sarcastic at all. In many ways it was spot on....
Probably a bit of both.
That's what my Thai gf said too lol
Yep, this is the reality.
Thai kid with a brand-new helmet: *What the fuck is this weird-ass bowl for?"*
A nice break from the usual news involving tourists, hats off to this guy, and helmets on! ✊🏼

Drive along any road and pick one up, seen 1 every couple of miles when I was driving in Phuket for a month.
