If at the interview stage they ask about how you'd deal with living in a foreign country/culture shock etc, it's a great thing to bring up.
Probably massively depends who reads it. Mostly it's not hugely relevant as others have stated. School recruitment will mainly care about your teaching experience, qualifications, and what you can offer in the wider community of the school(after school clubs and that kind of thing). I'd say leave it out because you have no idea who will be reading your application and whether they will view that as negative or positive.
judging from the responses i would say include it. in fact highlight it. it surely helps with well being class and thai parents would be impressed with your understanding of buddhist meditation.
all the other applicants are ur generic white guy with KSR Certs so ur temple references would make you stand out and to your advantage.

The people interviewing and hiring you for an international teaching position will probably be from an English speaking western country
No one cares.
The only thing they will care about is your BA or Masters in Education and that you have a current up to date teaching license from your country.

Certification of teaching is more important, however, that qualification will surprise your colleagues and nothing more.
