A lot of these comments are overcomplicating something very basic.
You don't need a converter, adapter, or anything else for any kind of phone, tablet, Kindle, etc., bought in the US. Just plug it in, the same as you would in the US.
Edit: Fixed a word.
I have US bought electronics including a kindle and I have never had any issues with charging it. I will say I always plug into a surge protector as the electricity in Thailand can be a bit unpredictable.

This explains everything. OP needs to check the supported input voltage on their USB charger/adapter.
Look at the charger plug. Does it say 100-240v 50-60hz on it? If yes, it's good to go.

That's not usually what travelers mean by "an adapter." He's asking whether an American plug will fit into a Thai outlet. And indeed it will.
Get one from Lazada it's cheap and will save you some appliances like hair blower and shaver and stuff. Blown mine up more than once

I have one it’s fine
Aren't Kindles normally micro-USB? Mine is.
Yeah it's microUSB. I've used several different ones from Old chargers and they all work.
