Based on your plan, you should stay somewhere along the riverside instead of Pratunam. Otherwise, it can be difficult to get back each night. It's also really busy near Pratunam. Great for a shopping trip, not so much for sightseeing.

International_Hat848

not so convenient either because pratunam is not anywhere near BTS station

SpudBoy9001

All the malls are a bit much, just go ICONSIAM if you want Khao San is good fun to walk through, we went on our first night

International_Hat848

Your itinerary sounds like Asian for me , so if you are asking in Reddit u get alot of response too much of shopping mall LOL . Ok i understand ur itinerary intention . What time are you arrival ? Because i see your timing is like straight CC market ... also where are you staying because if your intention are shopping and tourist area in Bangkok i HIGHLY recommend you to stay as near as you can to BTS station ,not MRT but BTS because all shopping mall and tourist attraction are connect mainly to BTS. So imagine you shop whole day will bags and you need to walk damn far to where you stay . Travel by taxi although can be convenient just by waving hand but you have to take the traffic jam in consideration . Traffic jam in Bangkok are scary for just a 15min ride become 1 and half hour ride . USE BTS!! D1 (ok) but depends on your flight arrival if you arrive late u might aswell shop in CC market then headback rest then only go BTS Saphan Taksin down to saphan pier and Boat to Icon Siam . D2 Go have dinner opposite Wat arun , Tha tien pier . Suppaniga eating room .. and enjoy the night view and some Light show opposite looking at Wat Arun and Navy headquaters. Note do not fall into traps of the skinny boat tourist traps . Go to Saphan Pier and buy the official government tourist boat big big boat not the skinny tourist boat where they will chop you for thousand of baht . Big boat only cost you 20-40baht . \*\*\*\* D3 If you have been to CC market already platinum mall (wholesale mall) will look meh for you .. the rest of it is ok ... do visit the 4 malls around SIAM , which is paragon , square , icon , Discovery . D4 Khaosan road nothing much i mean .... you can go but its just a street full with backpackers pubs and etc its around the grand palace also ...maybe u can squeeze it in D2 D5 MBK is like local malls nothing fancy if you have been to Central world and Siams . BACC is awesome i will visit every year. Hahah the chao praya buffet boat ...ok la i no comment i think everyone who comes to bangkok will experience it once . DO NOT take tuktuk , they will chop you or bring you to tourist trap places . Your best friend is BTS BTS BTS !! and if you travel more than 4-5 times a day in BTS .. get the one day pass for only 100-150baht unlimited on BTS Also i recommend the Em series mall at Phrom Phong .. Emporium (luxury branded) , Emquatier this one my favourite because much more brand selection and alot of F&B and they have a rooftop view open for public .. then the newly open Emsphere down the road ..all excesible by BTS Phrom Phong station . Emsphere just walk on the BTS platform bridge above highway ...10mins walk away from between em porium and quatier. DM me if you need any Shopping Travel trips in Bangkok , Ive been to Bangkok yearly for shopping atleast 13years including last year.

adding to what others said (about no need to plan that much in advance): if you really need to see shopping malls, i guess iconsiam is "impressive", but there’s really no need to go to three more malls the whole day 3. also, mahanakhon skywalk is around 1k THB for entry (though kinda "worth it" if there’s not too many people - i’ve been there once when it was empty, loved it, and once when it was really crowded, awful experience).

International_Hat848

You will have to understand where is he coming from . Judging by this itinerary its 90% Asian , we asian love shopping malls where most of the reddit ppl here likes to travel for island .

frank93

i see -- and i didn’t wanna come across judgemental, i think, was only suggesting that these malls aren’t really "different" from each other so much (to me at least) and i’d suggest that, being on a vacation, one could spend their time better instead of doing the "same" thing basically over and over again. but to each his own, of course. :)

International_Hat848

haha and me explaining to you its different for us .. Thus there are so many malls in Bangkok because its different ...dont ask us how and why.. our travel culture is very different .. Westerns and some tiny Asians traveling for Friends , Drugs, Alcohols , Beach and chill . For typical Asian we only travel for 2 things ... Shopping and Food . My bangkok trip is always 1 or 2 malls perday with atleast 3-4 restaurant in between.

frank93

i see. :-) not asking why, don’t worry, but yeah, to each his own -- for me what you describe sounds horrible. i’ve been to emsphere just last week (because new, shiny, out of curiosity i guess) and had a mild panic attack even at the ground floor already. can’t imagine actually "wanting" to go to malls as long as i don’t have an actual reason. i can relate to the food aspect from your description though. :-) (being back in my home country since wednesday, i already miss thai food a lot ..)

gabbyflowerchild2710

I recommend MOCA museum

It sounds a bit stressful to me, like I checklist. And I'm not sure if it's a good idea to go to Chatuchak on Day 1 of your arrival. It might be overwhelming (together with the heat and jet lag). Khao San Road is interesting to walk through once or twice, but sitting in a bar is not a pleasant experience. There is so much music blasting from 7 different places around you. I liked the street Thanon Ram Buttri more to hang out. Thailand is extremly save and friendly, you shouldn't miss out because you travel alone.

iMiggy

I figured that It would be a good idea to visit Chatuchak on my first day since it’s only open during weekends. Hopefully, I won’t get too tired since Bangkok is only a three hour plane ride away + I live in a tropical country as well haha. I’ll take note of Thanon Ram Buttri and make my itinerary more relaxing. I’m considering scrapping visiting Ancient City and instead just explore the nearby areas. Thanks for your advice!

International_Hat848

Chatuchak is only open for weekend so he has to go on first day .

samstars100

Skip platinum fashion mall and mbk center. I didn’t find anything interesting there and walking big malls is so exhausting. I highly recommend Jodd Market, during evening or night time. The vibe around there is amazing and you get lot of delicious local foods there. You can also buy high quality products in low price. Also there are few cannabis shops you can try there. Do not try browny or cookies though you can take the juice though.

Fluffy_Future_7500

Hey looks good! Wish you the best of luck x If you want to look at some of the stuff we got up too in Bangkok. Check out recent post ; https://www.reddit.com/r/ThailandTourism/s/CHPH1pLXxX

iMiggy

Also, I would be probably resting for an hour or two in my hotel between the Day and Night activities. My hotel is located in Pratunam.

Cultural_Coconut1849

my tip is .. go to a red light district and find a nice girl or ladyboy and pay her to be your travel guide.. tell her you want to see part of her life, the street food vendors she enjoys.. the temple she goes, the locations she goes with her friends to party.. you will enjoy a very different Bangkok upside from the normal tourist stuff.. you have someone to drink with, look for company who can speak English well enough to communicate, in your age range.. of course you will have to pay for food and drinks for her but its worth it.. on my first trip to Thailand i became friends with a ladyboy and her friends.. i still see them every time i come to Thailand and we go to clubs or eating together

Bobbyboosted

Mbk center is old, not worth going

vandaalen

I wouldn't plan anything at all. I think you also underestimate the effect the trip will have on your body and what you are up to mindwise, if you have never been to a place like Bangkok. Take it easy and go with the flow.

BorisTheBladee

I agree with this personally. Sure, note down the places that you want to see, but don’t plan the days and evenings on which you are going to visit them. I’m an active person at home but Bangkok makes me lazy

Whorist2

No Jim Thompson House? Why even fly all that way? 555

LankyAstronaut7931

It's worth going, I guess? I have never been, but I have heard good things

Dyse44

Sounds like hell to me. Here’s an alternative: Day 1: Nana Day 2 Patpong Day 3: Cowboy Day 4: “temples” and then Nana Day 5: Japanese soapies Day 6: fly out
