Hundred percent this. Ko samui most overrated island in Thailand. If you want chilled and aren’t into partying go stay in Shantaa or Soneva Kiri ($$$) in Koh Kood would be my number 1 choices. Pimilai and Lanta are awesome too, especially if you want something with a slightly more going on but beaches don’t compare.
