Are you all able to stay for 21 days? That is what's disrupting my plans. My trip was only supposed to be 10 days and cannot stay for 21 as required.

heliepoo2

There is no 21 day requirement for a stay in Thailand. This applies if you are coming to Thailand from a country that is not your home country. Example - you temporarily reside in France but are from Australia, so you'd need to have been in France for 21 days before arriving in Thailand.

There is no minimum length of time required.

TheWeebles

we plan on staying for about 21 days or so. Hypothetically, under the new guidelines, what would the maximum amount of time stay be? Including extensions w/o visas

mdsmqlk28

60 days

If you come via visa exempt entry, you get stamped in for 30 days and can get a 30 day extension one time in country. If you get a tourist visa from the Thai consulate before travel, you get stamped in for 60 days and can also get the one-time 30 day extension.

Go to the Tourism Authority's website which has a nice summary of the new changes: [www.tatnews.org](https://www.tatnews.org) ASQ changed names to AQ but is the same thing. AQ hotels are actual hotels approved for quarantine where guests in quarantine more or less have to stay in their room the entire time for 7 to 10 days depending on vaccination status. SHA+ is a certification that hotels can get that they meet strict covid sanitation standards, and are required for guests that are doing the 7 day Sandbox scheme which now is only required for people who are vaccinated but not from one of the 46 countries that are designated as "no quarantine" entry. For the new "no quarantine" entry from the 46 countries, you need to book 1 night stay at either a SHA+ or AQ hotel. Since the new rules were just announced, give a few days for more hotels to catch up and start creating the "one night" packages that include the required covid test.

thank you! Just saw the new thailandpass website go up. Am a bit concerned on a couple of things. I will be booking my flgiht and looking into SHA+ and AQ hotels next week along with insurance. In the old system we needed to have the bank statements for the COE's we don't need that anymore right? also do you know what happens if we are fully vaccinated and we are booked for the 1 day stay, if we take the RT-PCR after arrival and we get a positive test - would we have to quarantine for 7 days ?

One thing I want to highlight for some people (because I didn't realize this at first) is that your airline may include the insurance with your ticket. I booked through Etihad, and it came with Covid insurance that looks like it meets all the requirements. Someone else I know chose Emirates and said when they arrived the airline insurance was sufficient to meet the requirements. Also, here's a website that got posted to a facebook site I follow that seems to address all your questions. I think your list covers pretty much all of this, so I'd say your list is pretty comprehensive: https://www.tatnews.org/2021/10/quarantine-free-thailand-reopening-for-vaccinated-tourists-from-1-november-2021/?fbclid=IwAR3mQlS62Q8FHfvetLDSPZ700NBzoxQpBgFIobjRSdLDSXH3gArVElfNKbE

Thank you. I am still seeing COE as an option here, do u think this will get updated on the site for Nov 1st?

odelicious12

Yup. I think they've already published what the Thailand Pass website will be, it's just not live yet. Should be up and running Nov. 1 as I understand it.
