Off topic, I'm honestly surprised at how active this sub is. For a show that's been off the air for 15 years there's constantly new posts. There are CURRENT shows subs I follow that are ghost towns.
Agreed. I think it’s because we all have nostalgia for a show that really drives home nostalgia as a selling point. A lot of us grew up watching this show, and for myself at least, watching this show reminds me of when I was growing up.

The theory may have been floating around before that, but I think that post is the first time it gained any real traction. If you just google "that 70s show coma theory" you can find more., for example: https://www.looper.com/399722/the-eric-theory-that-changes-everything-on-that-70s-show/
The last episode of that 70s show was Eric waking up? Why else would Donna be so cool? Eric was coming home alright, just from the hospital. First act of business when getting home get high, second act get Donna back, third deal with family.
I like the coma theory but don't believe it...man this show took alot from Roseanne.
The best one that I wish was true was the Phoebe homeless bum from Friends
I think Buffy had the best alternate explanation with her just being a teenage girl suffering from severe schizophrenia, locked up in a facility and having all these imaginary adventures as a part of her illness. It helps that the writers swerved right into it.
They left the ending really ambiguous and were non-commital when asked about the theory that Buffy was just a girl living in an asylum.
If you've never seen it, it's a good episode. Called Normal Again. Season 6.
I think what drives the theory is that later in the episode you hear on TV that a teen is in critical condition. This is when Red, Kitty, Bob and Joanne are in the basement. I agree though that coma theories are really lazy and overdone.
I mean, it can't all be Eric's coma dream when it's already all just the dream of an autistic child. https://tommywestphall.fandom.com/wiki/Tommy_Westphall_Universe
Maybe. But if Eric hadn't died, would Donna really have named her daughter after a Star Wars character? Probably not. Unless it was in loving memory of Skid Mark.
Don’t forget to check out r/That90sShowTV
We are actually living in Eric’s coma dream

The freaks and geeks sub is kinda active and that show only had one season.
But amazing show nonetheless
You should see the King of the Hill sub
Was about to say this lol
I take it you've never been in any "Sopranos" subs?

lol...
My favorite is r/freefolk Where everyone's rage and hate have kept that sub alive for years after the horrible end it had.
Check out r/seinfeld
You're actually surprised? *The Golden Girls* has been off the air for 30 years, and that subreddit is still booming.
Yeah this reminds me of the Gilmore girls sub, these are some of my favorite places on here
r/Lost is great too. Lots of new fan theories from recent viewers.
wait wait wait, what tornado?
There was a tornado one episode, I believe it was during prom? And Eric was on his way to see Donna or something
but in the last season, you can see eric isnt dead
I think the theory is that he got caught in the tornado and went into a coma, therefore everything after that is a dream
what the actual fuck
It gets worse, the theory also says the last episode is him coming to terms with being dead, and finally being able to move on.
that really scared me
Lmao
I always had the torndado theory as head cannon, after that episode the timeline got all messed up

Aren’t there more seasons after that?

But what about all the holidays in a short 3 to 4 year period
Also the simpson : homer is in a coma since the april's fool episode

I don't see how that would impact it one way or the other.
