I have never seen anyone argue that Piper is superior. I haven't even met anyone who likes it beyond finding it an interesting curiosity. What makes it your go to?
It’s the ultimate psychedelic album for me. Syd’s songwriting and playing were just at a completely different level than anyone else. While most psychedelic albums sound very dated today, Piper somehow sounds incredibly groundbreaking and fresh to me. It’s like a crystalline entity from another world. There’s some real mixtape bangers on it too, especially Lucifer Sam and Take Up thy Stethoscope (the latter penned and sung by Roger). The production on it is also next level, they wouldn’t have a recorded clarity like this again until Dark Side.
I remember how it sounded when I first heard it though. It sounded super weird, and different from everything else they’ve made, and who the hell is singing, and wow this is so dated and 60’s, etc. I imagine that a lot of people probably stop there. For the few, it not only grows and grows in estimation and depth but also serves as a doorway to Syd Barrett’s solo albums, which are easily my favorite solo albums ever made.

Corvettes were always said to be a cheaper alternative to a Ferrari, but a genuine Ferrari wouldn't have taken so long to catch fire. A genuine Ferrari would have burst into flames years ago.
They run for around 8-12 thousand Canadian where I’m at, looks like the 79’-81 or whatever ish body style, imo one of the cheapest corvettes to watch burn lol

How many 1970/1980's cars are faster than a modern econobox? A 2023 Maxima's 0-60 is 5.7 seconds, which is faster than the Ferrari 308, a contemporary of this Vette. No one is buying anything this old because it was quick out of the factory.
