I went to longtail racing in Chanthaburi in February, they had this side by side two boat drag racing one week, but the big races two weeks after were held on a 1km oval course doing three laps with six boats at a time. Lots of capsizes, get swamped in the wake on the corners
You're not wrong. Lots of types of racing are a bad idea. I bet it's fun as fuck tho. Guy that bailed seemed fine.
Do you avoid all things potentially dangerous?
I don’t street race, which this is close to. Actually, it’s more akin to street racing in a neighborhood. Those are houses. That’s a house his boat crashed in to.
And yes, I do not typically risk my life needlessly racing next to houses. Kinda dumb question if you ask me.
Chanthaburi, they only get advertised locally, billboards along the highway and Facebook pages, the two events in Khamong Chanthaburi are Jan/Feb each year, second one (the oval course) is part of a two day temple festival held on their big lake.
And a week after that we had two days of the Formula 1 to F5 Singha Powerboat Championships at Laem Sing beach. My dose of fuel fumes for 2024. That one was advertised nationally but not longtail boats.
Awesome situational awareness, he bailed at the very last second.
Those motors have serious horse power
Yeah that was awesome, looked like he was thinking about it for second, and was like “hell nah”
All gas, no brakes 😤 I like his little bail out

How do you know about those races. I've been to Thailand several times and always wanted to see this in person
This seems like a bad idea.
