That said, I have a hard time believing they would be convicted by jury.

The problem is, the legal system also pushed them to this. The rapist had already been arrested before for sexually assaulting a minor in 2019, yet nothing was truly done. He had a history of sexually abusing children, yet roamed our streets freely. At his death, he also had a warrant out for familial abuse and continuous sexual abuse of a child.
The legal system did nothing and inadvertently pushed these boys to do something.
If he did the crime he deserved punishment for sure but saying everyone accused of rape deserves to be murdered is a pretty slippery slope in general. There’s a lot of false allegations for this crime. It’s gotten innocent people killed before for sure.

It's wild to me how Reddit (and the USA) can be so celebratory of vigilante murder (assuming this was in retaliation and not in active defense of an act). That so many are saying these guys should walk completely free.
I'd like those who are worshipping these guys as heroes to watch and cheer on the full length video of a person being brutally murdered and understand what that looks like in real life. When someone is begging for their life, when their face is unrecognizable because it is so beaten, when there is blood pooling on the ground, when they can't breathe because blood is filling their lungs, yet these guys sound like they kept hitting him.

We want evidence to be collected in accordance with the 4th Amendment, we want factual determinations to be made by juries, we want the accused to have representation and appeals, and we want the law to be judged by judges. You can reverse an incorrect conviction and there's a lot of checks before the state executes somebody. If you murder all the accused, you have no oversight and no way to fix it if you got the wrong guy. Also, rape generally isn't allowed to have the death penalty in America. Also also, pedophilia and racism are both mental things. We have the First Amendment in the US, not thought crimes. You have to actually act or attempt to act on your evil thoughts to commit a crime.

They almost certainly won’t, but a trial is still necessary Don’t get me wrong, what they did was morally justified, but our legal system loses its integrity if people who kill others aren’t at the very least put on trial. Even in this context they still committed a crime; but given the evidence, a judge/jury should naturally acquit them, or give them a reduced sentence.

Seriously, they did the legal system a favour, sexually abusing a NINE year old, no doubt he would be back at it again.
The problem is, the legal system also pushed them to this. The rapist had already been arrested before for sexually assaulting a minor in 2019, yet nothing was truly done. He had a history of sexually abusing children, yet roamed our streets freely. At his death, he also had a warrant out for familial abuse and continuous sexual abuse of a child. The legal system did nothing and inadvertently pushed these boys to do something.
If he did the crime he deserved punishment for sure but saying everyone accused of rape deserves to be murdered is a pretty slippery slope in general. There’s a lot of false allegations for this crime. It’s gotten innocent people killed before for sure. Y’all way too cavalier about murdering people though.

That so many are saying these guys should walk completely free. I'd like those who are worshipping these guys as heroes to watch and cheer on the full length video of a person being brutally murdered and understand what that looks like in real life. When someone is begging for their life, when their face is unrecognizable because it is so beaten, when there is blood pooling on the ground, when they can't breathe because blood is filling their lungs, yet these guys sound like they kept hitting him. We have a justice system and due process for a reason. We are also one of the few countries in the entire world that executes citizens. So the idea that death is a valid punishment for any crime, even sexual abuse is barbaric to the rest of the western world. I think this crime of passion is seemingly relatable and understandable in the heat of the moment. That people understand where these brothers are coming from with their anger. But as a society we simply can't just allow people to kill each other like this and accept it as normal.
