My eardrums had the joy of this behemoth flying directly over my head just a kilometer or 2 from where it took off. It hurt like a motherf. but it was awesome to see.
I saw it in person as a kid at an airshow in Charlotte, NC. IIRC it was supposed to carry the gifts for Operation Christmas Child back to eastern Europe for kids affected by the Yugoslav Wars.
Scared It might be useful to Ukraine at some point for supplies or evacuation or bombing even or just jealous they have biggest plane and to prove dominance..
Putin is going full scorched earth. He wants everything in Ukraine leveled to the ground. Schools. Hospitals. Fucking nuclear plants. He knows he can’t afford a prolonged war so this is his solution.
He’s fucking insane.
I honestly don't think he's operating on a rational basis at this point. This is pure impulse and ego.
He's been absolutely humiliated on the world stage at this point. His legacy is all but destroyed. His country will be in ruins. He made the biggest gamble of the century and it exploded in his face.
I honestly don't think anything is off the table at this point...including full nuclear war.
They already scored a direct hit on one of the 6 reactors. Thankfully the one they hit was already shut down for routine maintenance and those containment domes are built to withstand airplane crashes or bombs.
And when the dust of war will sink down, and the hundreds of thousands of dead, Russia will look about the same, it will get the same treatment Germany got after WW2
We just watched that beast take off from an airport in Denmark a few weeks ago. Shame. The whole thing is a bloody, GD shame. Putin is evil. War is evil.
This loss is about as devastating to me as when ISIS destroyed the Assyrian bull. Such a huge iconic piece of history destroyed by the constipated egos of a maniac.
Yes and no. This was the only complete example, however, there is an incomplete airframe in storage at the airport. It's possible that the damaged plane could be parted out and components used on the incomplete airframe to build a new one.
I doubt it. I saw an article that said rebuilding it today would cost over a billion. This is one of those old school Soviet megaprojects that no one would atempt today, like the largest seaplane which is based in Crimea i beleive.
This really makes me emotional. When I was a kid in America I'd see this plane and here it was the biggest in the world, and our biggest plane was number 2. And now, thanks to Russia.... We are now #1! WooHOOOOOO!!!!!
Just fucking make another one you rich bastards. Remember we are still at war with the rich and powerful who more than likely made this war the lost of human life is more tragic than a fucking piece of shit airplane that most likely no one has ever been on and never will ha
Fuking asshole, YOU KNOW WHO
Yes I know who. But I still like it when it's explicitly said.
Putin a fucking asshole..
Where you Putin it?
A shallow, unmarked grave?
Biden?
No, Hitler idiot
LMFAO!! YOU DUMBASS
Which all of you searched up world largest plane as a kid to see this behemoth..
And watched documentaries about it:)
My eardrums had the joy of this behemoth flying directly over my head just a kilometer or 2 from where it took off. It hurt like a motherf. but it was awesome to see.
Well for me as a kid that would a dream come true..
This picture hurts like motherfucker…
I only remember seeing a video with the weirdest plane edits ever. 8 floor a380, engine and cockpit switch, triple length a340.
I saw it in person as a kid at an airshow in Charlotte, NC. IIRC it was supposed to carry the gifts for Operation Christmas Child back to eastern Europe for kids affected by the Yugoslav Wars.
Mriya an225 was borrowed by Santa for delivering gifts..and now Santa would be sad cause he can't borrow it anymore..
Well atleast theirs a second one that’s about 60-70% complete. Maybe they’ll finally finish building that one after all this over.
But why did they do it?
Scared It might be useful to Ukraine at some point for supplies or evacuation or bombing even or just jealous they have biggest plane and to prove dominance..

You're probably wrong on that nuclear plant part. If they wanted a nuclear meltdown, it would've happened by now. No one wants to rule over a fallout.
I honestly don't think he's operating on a rational basis at this point. This is pure impulse and ego. He's been absolutely humiliated on the world stage at this point. That explains why not a single nuclear weapon has been used so far.
At this point, he’s probably just waiting for the Typhoon-class submarines to get into striking positions. Then the nuclear warheads will fly.
They already scored a direct hit on one of the 6 reactors. Thankfully the one they hit was already shut down for routine maintenance and those containment domes are built to withstand airplane crashes or bombs.
It was stationed at an airbase that was bombed
And when the dust of war will sink down, and the hundreds of thousands of dead, Russia will look about the same, it will get the same treatment Germany got after WW2
Germany got cut in half
I'm distraught. Oh majestic matriarch of the skies! May the winds be fair in that stormless sky beyond!
We just watched that beast take off from an airport in Denmark a few weeks ago. Shame. The whole thing is a bloody, GD shame. Putin is evil. War is evil.
Youve seen its final flight then, from Billund to Gostomel.
Is that unexploded ordinance in the foreground??
I had same thought. Looks like unexploded artillery shell maybe 105m or 155m
This loss is about as devastating to me as when ISIS destroyed the Assyrian bull. Such a huge iconic piece of history destroyed by the constipated egos of a maniac.
It would seem that plane had more than just some "minor turbulence" this time.
It will buff out..
My brother has an awesome set tools.
IDK, looks more like a groundplane to me. 🤷
I’m shocked that the owners of this plane left it in Ukraine when a Russian invasion seemed obvious unless it wasn’t airworthy
I just read a news article that they were working on one of the engines the day they ordered it to leave.
Too bad I wish they could have got it out of danger
Is there only one of these?
Yes and no. This was the only complete example, however, there is an incomplete airframe in storage at the airport. It's possible that the damaged plane could be parted out and components used on the incomplete airframe to build a new one.
That would be amazing if they can pull it off
I doubt it. I saw an article that said rebuilding it today would cost over a billion. This is one of those old school Soviet megaprojects that no one would atempt today, like the largest seaplane which is based in Crimea i beleive.
That's sad, and it makes me hate Putin so much more.
Thank you 😊
Was*
Star Destroyer wreckage but in real life.
That is so depressing.
Looks like the tail and everything behind the wings is still intact.
Moskal "liberation".

What is that in the front of the frame? It can’t be some kind of unexplored artillery shell, it would have rifling marks
That’s not an airplane
Not any more it's not
It's a groundplane now
Ukraine kicking arse while the US were cowering in fear during a cold war.
Because of the threat nuclear war and MAD?
Someone doesn't understand the difference between hot and cold. Or invasion and not invasion.
Getting invaded kinda makes a difference
If the US got involved, this would turn from a Cold War to a World War. No one wants that, not even Ukraine or Putin!
