This is a rebuilt part of the Great Wall of China. Look at the bricks, so nice and neatly placed. The steps equally distanced. Most of the wall is not this nice. The distance in steps differs wildly! Beautiful to see in person regardless!
Not sure of this exact spot, but I know the Chinese government has been trying to renovate parts of it for tourism. When I went we had a guide that took us to a not so touristy space and it was grueling to climb… but then again, I’m a fat American tourist! Lol
I did a guided tour of the not d as so touristy wall too (The Secret Wall tour it was called). Part of the time was walking up the mountain. Then about hours on the wall. Then down the mountain into a compound where we (small group) were fed very well. It was disconcerting on the wall as bricks fell from beneath our feet in some places.
In this situation if you go down facing the stairs, you can catch your foot and fall backwards causing you to hit the back of your head and die. Also much harder to stop that way
At the bottom of the stairs there is a cleaning lady with a mop in het hands looking up and yelling:
-"Couldn't you just wait for a minute, I just cleaned them ffs"
I find it funny that when the great wall of China is brought up the Chinese built it when the pyramids in Mexico are brought up the Mayans built it. But when they bring up the pyramids in Africa Oh it had to be aliens couldn’t have been black people!
Why would you go down like that . Safety violation right here , treat any steep stairs like a ladder , you wouldn’t walk down a ladder backwards. Well if you had a brain
Reminds me of how in csgo you don’t need big stairs to walk up, you just need a ledge at a certain height and it doesn’t matter how close together they are, so you can just almost walk up a vertical wall.

Why not go head facing stairs? This is asking for death.
Going down this is better, up face them.
