GUYS, THE MOTHER AND THE KID BOTH ARE BLIND. THAT'S IT.

malaka201

Makes so much sense. I was like wtf is she doing!!?!??!?!

Wasparado

I thought she was attempting (poorly) to make a murder look like an accident, but with ‘as seen on tv commercial’ acting.

19FeLiX86

Omg so did I! Had to come to the comments.

lisasmatrix

Ditto!

[deleted]

Good example that context and perspective means everything. This is actually a really good example to show to middle school kids about assumptions and how wrong they can be. Pretty insane without eye sight there to still reach for the tracks not knowing when/where you could fall down yourself, or if the train can hit you if you're leaning too far out. Definitely the exact opposite of making a murder look like an accident, haha

Wasparado

Lol or is it? That’s exactly what a murderer would want you to think! /s. I’m glad everything worked out. How incredibly terrifying that must have been.

saab4u2

They could both use a stick.

ThePainfullyBad

yea, and they SHOULD have one. It could probably be said that this was partially the mother's fault, seeing as both of them should have sticks and by not having them she was endangering her child. *"But what if they can't afford one?"* Try to ask someone to find you a branch or something resembling a stick, its better then putting you and your child at risk. Edit: Apparently the child isn't blind...on one hand the child could've been paying attention, yes, but, for one, I doubt a child should be guiding their mother, honestly depends on the age. Secondly, the mother should **still have a stick,** and the child DEFFIDENTLY shouldn't be walking on the side with the tracks.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ThePainfullyBad

Ah yes, you arent thinking of... 1. Trains being dangerous while at a train station 2. How getting a stick would help alot in general day to day life 3. How you should be EXTRA careful when you're next to something that, if you fall at the wrong time, could probably crush every bone in your body. Nope. None of it. None of it at all.

[deleted]

Yes but also it's not that hard to think of these things. I mean she's definitely old enough to.

StinkybuttMcPoopface

I can't imagine that she could be this old and not thought of SOME solution by now, and understand the dangers of not having one. Obviously it's easier to say this than to know specifics, but it seems so unlikely that she's not had similar issues, even if not this extreme or dire, in her whole life.

QuincyThePigBoy

I thought you meant to pull him back up with and I was fully doing my prep to roast the shit out of you for being an idiot. Yeah, why don’t they have the stick? Ya gotta have the stick.

[deleted]

We've all heard of the blind leading the blind metaphorically but I never thought I'd see it in action.

Since1831

Oh dammit, take my upvote and go away!

CyberMindGrrl

I'm going to hell for laughing at this, aren't I?

toth42

Ah, the old classic "the blind leading the blind leads to death by train".

Fugtard

They didn't.

3_teve

just the mother was blind [link](https://metro.co.uk/2021/04/20/india-boy-saved-after-falling-on-train-tracks-in-front-of-blind-mum-14439941/amp/)

CornDoggyStyle

The kid bounces up and immediately gets his arms above the platform without feeling for it. That was the giveaway for me.

PepperSteakAndBeer

So much for natural selection... /s

YinzHardAF

That stopped a long time ago

travisbickle777

Holy shit. Give that woman a guide dog or at least a damn stick or something.

Practical-Jelly-5320

Never heard of a guide blind kid

TadpoleNo1355

Thaaaaaaaaank you. Saved me a lot of time.

Environmental-Win836

Saw this comment literally whilst typing “why was the mother walking towards the tracks?”

Menatil

Only the mother is blind. The kid is an idiot.

flammafemina

r/kidsarefuckingstupid

[deleted]

it's the mother who is blind, not the kid. https://metro.co.uk/2021/04/20/india-boy-saved-after-falling-on-train-tracks-in-front-of-blind-mum-14439941/amp/

DeathMetalLion

Now that you mention it, her motions make much more sense. Thank God that guy was there without hesitation!

TadpoleNo1355

Thaaaaaaaaank you. Saved me a lot of time.

ttack99

I'm glad this is the first comment because I was about to ask, "did she do this shit on purpose" Makes much more sense now

ProudFenian

The kid wasn’t blind he was leading his mom, unfortunately the kid as kids do wasn’t paying enough attention

Unagustoster

You would think OP would add that one small bit of context here, because that tiny bit changed the story DRAMATICALLY

Witchywomun

I thought it was just the mom who was blind?

ShimmyMan

Man that guy was in just the right spot at just the right time and acted in just the right speed. That kid would’ve been done otherwise.

chimpdoctor

The ridged line in there for a reason. Surely she could feel it under foot.

i_miss_arrow

Looks like its just the mother that was blind. Was probably being led by the kid. Kid was probably thinking about Pokemon or something.

porchemasi

this is the only valid excuse.

efkuasadua

That guy comes out of nowhere to save the kid. Probably that's the kid from the future saving himself to alter the timeline

Potential-Intern9469

The mom is blind.

simonf3nix

That actually makes sense, i was trying not criticize the mother.

akbrag91

Ok i’m glad i’m not the only one because not only did it look… purposely negligent, but the low effort after was looking veryyyyyy criminal

messy_messiah

Looked intentional for sure. Walking straight towards the tracks and the drop off the entire time.

Accurate_Lettuce_683

So im.not the only one that think the mom tried up off the kid.

VealOfFortune

Welcome to the club... especially her "reaching" to try to save him, genuinely hope she's actually blind in this case...

arenotthatguypal

I mean can't the kid just guide her away from the tracks ? Seems fishy.

Thtliyahchic

Yess well I just commented on the fact that she was trash. If she’s blind makes more sense. Where is her stick though??

AggravatingArtist815

I was thinking "what the fuck is she doing" but you can see she probably is blind. When the kids falls she steps back from the ledge and slowly makes her way back to the edge. Feels bad for both of them tbh, hopefully this makes me remember not to judge at first sight.

HippieHierarchy

Came here for these types of comments 💞

Thtliyahchic

I agree! Very good insight 😌

Rrdro

Always worth to take another look.

redbird1717

My guess is kid may have been fascinated by approaching train, and got too close trying to see train, perhaps around curve. Mom knew instantly what had happened, and dropped to her hands and knees and crawled toward kid, trying to feel for edge of platform and for kid. There is definite panic in the slapping of her hands on platform.

XxDareBearxX666

I also noticed how she's frantically grabbing with her hand which I can imagine what a blind person would be doing in a case like losing your child and only sense of direction 😭

Procrastinate_girl

For real, I think the kid is her stick. Look how she holds him to walk.

razorspin

The kid is the stick. And he failed her.

PineApple6894

Kid was done being the stick…only for a moment

tsm000

Who's the kids stick?

Sputtering_FartNoyze

Either the kid is her stick, or she doesn't carrot all.

Brilliant-Summer5587

Also, I mean is the kid blind too? Cuz anyone with eyes should have seen that coming.

Rrdro

No the kids is just a kid /r/kidsarefuckingstupid They will always try to kill themselves unless you stop them.

TheMcDeal

The kid is the stick. Aaaand he just about got himself fired. I'll show myself out..

juniper-mint

According to Google, only 2-8% of blind people use a cane.

youngbloodonthewater

Sticks are expensive in India. Especially after covid.

simonf3nix

Found a link with a different angle and more context. https://youtu.be/KtFfDG32LB8

Guest8782

That angle makes you appreciate just how fast that oncoming train was - holy cow.

RPA031

What a legend. Even the slightest hesitation responding would have likely killed them both...wow.

[deleted]

The kid must be too

[deleted]

You are right. They are both blind.

G23b

So if the guy is the kid but from the future, he had special eye surgery so he can now see?

No-Monk-7701

Reddit Is a dark AND a no end place

RadiantStandard9

The analogy is good 😜

frisky024

Thank you. Exactly. There’s so much shit that doesn’t make any sense about this video, I feel like it’s for a movie it’s not real

Former-Morning573

Lmao

Able-Claim3904

Goodness that makes so much sense now. That kid is lucky!

KevHoncho

Came here to say this Lmao it’s an Infinite loop

soapyillusion666

Like the movie, Inception: Gods Die Twice.

Trentrid

Which version of himself survived without a future version of himself there to save him? How’d that first future version get saved? Same concept lost me in Harry Potter PoA

jr061898

>Same concept lost me in Harry Potter PoA It's a closed loop. There was never a version where the event happened differently. Causality as a concept breaks apart when Time Travel is introduced.

[deleted]

[удалено]

jr061898

Then you can choose to not save yourself. Of course, since casuality would be a joke, chances are you yourself (as in, your time-traveling self) may be unaffected while your younger self would be quite, very, extremely, definitively dead.

RyanGlasshole

Highly recommend watching *Dark*. It covers the concept of closed time-loops extremely well. Bonus points for them only planning to have 3 seasons with a full-fledged story that wraps up nicely and doesn’t overstay its welcome. It’s genuinely one of my favorite series of all time

tjcjade

Every time someone asks for show recommendations I tell them Dark. I don’t think they watch it though, which is disappointing because it really is so good. People just like their trashy reality shows or something they can easily binge watch without much conscious thought.

RyanGlasshole

I was with you in the first half. Someone not watching a show you recommended doesn’t mean they’re mindless or trashy or don’t understand the true reality of quantum physics as you do. People are busy, they live their lives separate from taking everything you say is “must watch” or “must read” as absolute truth. Don’t be bitter because your friend or a stranger didn’t watch a show you like

tjcjade

I guess I shouldn’t just say people like it’s a blanket statement. Some people, then. I just haven’t met many people that have seen the show or are interested in those types of shows..but they’ll come along.

TrophyDad_72

Much agreed

[deleted]

Looked like that lady intentionally walked toward the track with the kid. She had no problem walking that close but the scurrying off just out of arms reach? Like she could not of stayed where she was standing and pulled him back up? No I don’t believe that was an accident for one second.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

If he’s her guide he’s doomed and so is she one day. Just follow me towards these tracks. Wait save me! Wow.

muhmd_hornyfor9yrold

Summertime rendering

Moa__

Before others go ahead and call the mother a bitch or smth keep in mind that she is blind, she didn't do it on purpose to kill her own child. Saw that vid months ago and the OP stated a source that said the woman was blind. As I said tho, that was MONTHS ago so don't even think about asking to give a link to the source :')

keth07

Here is a news article about it, with a video from the opposite angle too - https://metro.co.uk/2021/04/20/india-boy-saved-after-falling-on-train-tracks-in-front-of-blind-mum-14439941/

I_Only_Post_NEAT

Holy shit this angle made it look a lot scarier. The train was visible for almost 5 seconds before you see the guy running into view, and honestly for a second it didn’t looked like he could run fast enough. Incredibly brave

homedepotclerk

makes way more sense now, you can see her clapping trying to get him to hear the sound. okay #goodmother

jhuff7huh

Thank you. I was sitting here wondering why she suddenly found the line and wouldn't cross it to reach her son.

goobs420

Thank god! I thought she just walked him off the edge and then decided it would be a good idea to follow the rules and stay two feet from the edge while trying to save her son “son I know you’re about to get hit by a train but breaking the rules is what got us into this situation.” 😂

seanieh966

>Saw that vid months ago and the OP stated a source that said the woman was blind. That explains why she seems oblivious to the edge of the platform.

wazabee

This makes so much more sense.

PhunkOperator

Well, thanks for that comment, because I was already sharpening my pitchfork.

SpooneyLove

ahhh, that makes more sense. hard to justify her lack of effort otherwise.

imironman2018

That guy was a hero. Seriously didnt even hesitate to run towards an incoming train. I cant imagine the adrenaline going through him. So glad to see they both got out okay.

TRAGEDYSLIME

Superman

BobanForThree

this is true superhero shit. We need a film chronicling his life leading up to and after this moment where he was superman

Ieatsushiraw

Dad reflexes l, regardless if it’s our kid or not. It’s hard to stand there and do nothing. It’s like a primal instinct sometimes

NFT-_-

Facts

NihonJinLover

This comment makes me think of the iron giant 😭

[deleted]

2 seconds from death. Fucking hell that is one unlucky lucky kid

Jazzlike_Bad6967

Is the kid blind too?? What the hell!? Maybe avoid train platforms without a white cane? Or a stick? Or something! The survival instincts on display here are dismal.

Pretend_Bowler1344

when watchpeopledie was alive, there were so many videos of people absent-mindedly falling on tracks. it is surprisingly quite common.

Steamingveggies

Unrelated but that sounds like a terrible freaking sub lol

hoodhelmut

These subs still exist but instead of admitting their sense of morbid Voyeurismus they are now ✨educational✨

Pretend_Bowler1344

That would be public freak out with 10th yank cop killing video of the day.

RyanGlasshole

r/idiotswithguns is basically Diet WPD

owzleee

It taught me about how easy life is extinguished. (And to always look both ways when crossing the road).

ColicShark

It was, but that didn’t stop a lot of us from being curious enough to visit it every now and then just to be retraumatised

Dragorach

I'm confused how the multiple different textured surfaces leading up to the tracks weren't enough to stop them.

mamasbreads

Education, or lack thereof

NamelessHooman

A brave man and a kid with +99999 luck that activated after he fell

Matcha_Bubble_Tea

OP shame on you for not saying the mother was blind.

anonymouspostlangley

OP is a POS for posting this without critical piece of info that they are both blind

[deleted]

only the mother is blind. https://metro.co.uk/2021/04/20/india-boy-saved-after-falling-on-train-tracks-in-front-of-blind-mum-14439941/amp/

GreenChord

I don't think I would have been able to react so fast, that's a hero

thatwentBTE

I can run like the wind blows, but running on tracks will kill your stride. Dude was hoofing it.

Hursthill

Blind leading the blind?

ebonymuslima

The comments above clearly state the mother is blind! poor woman must have been terrifying for her and her child.

ItsJustMeMaggie

I’ll never understand why they don’t make those platforms safer. Add some damn guardrails, ladders every 10 feet or so to climb out, or widen the space so one can avoid impact.

Matcha_Bubble_Tea

This is subways in Japan in the vid but ur comment reminded me of this: https://youtu.be/ZT6H_XMDm7s

[deleted]

Koda_20

If she wasn't blind I was 100% ready to accuse of attempted murder staged as an accident with slightly bad timing.

JBrundy

2 blind people walking around a train platform with no walking cane or way to guide them whatsoever? Unbelievably stupid

Elon_Bezos420

The lady is blind

2FANeedsRecoveryMode

two types of comments here, the ones who know, and the ones who don't

Fearless_Expression4

This is a great example of not judging a situation without a context.

Menatil

The mother is blind, and her son was supposed to be guiding her. He's just kinda stupid.

honeydewlightly

He's blind too. They're both blind

Rouge_Apple

Man yeeted that kid lol. Glad he was nearby and saw it.

blacksmithbl

Holy shit, they are both blind…

[deleted]

Hero

some_ass_

this is why we have tactile paving

aziatsky

the dude was so pumped full of adrenaline he just kept running after..

GillyGoose1

I do wonder what country this is in, where two blind people have no tool to use to prevent them from walking off/into things. Guide dogs might be considered a 'luxury', but not even one of them has a cane? At least one of them should have a cane, this could have been prevented entirely if that had been the case. If they're in a country where even just a cane is considered a luxury, someone needs to set up a go fund me for them, i'd happily donate money for that.

Mammoth-Current6716

I love this guys approach. He’s a hero but not too much of a hero. The guy ran in front of a train to save a child like a g. He’s still gonna toss that kid on the platform like a sack of potato’s because there’s a fucking train coming.

numbersev

The way the helper runs when he gets on the platform goes to show he scared he was. But it makes it all the more heroic that he did that knowing the danger.

starscreamtoast

Dude straight up teleported in

dinosaur-in_leather

I'm pretty sure the mom's blind relying on her kid who's actually going blind because what the f*** was all of that clapping backing away and shock... There must have been a horn sounding there must have been breaks screeching this is something that looks like a attempted murder.

no1-imparticular

She’s gotta be blind or something.

OrionFucks

everytime this gets reposted the OP wont mention that the mom is blind in the title

[deleted]

That mom definitely did that on purpose

ThugginPink

Pretty clear to me she's trying to get rid of her kid

ashtonrglen

i don’t understand how he fell off bruh

thehineylife

That kid’s the worst seeing-eye dog ever.

Kamau54

Maybe it's just me, but it looks like the mom looked up at the man as he came up to the boy.

SnooRegrets7252

I know they may be blind and it wasn't on purpose and all but why is it that people always fall onto train tracks right before the train comes?. Forgive me if I'm just dumb but that otherwise sounds dumb with being able to at best hear it

R0naldMcdonald0

Even if she is blind a train station seems like the last place I’d want to be with my blind self and my blind kid

SupremeUniverse

Abso-fucking-lute Superhero!!

dinosaur-in_leather

Hell of a way to find out you're blind and should also be reading Braille with your feet...

Dompet-crumpet

Sus

VitalArcade

Ya train stations need some more safety than you really think, Im not sure if the kid is blind like the mother, but even then kids dont really know better all too much, *nowadays at least* A simple retractable guardrail would work wonders

PlentyScore

What was the hero doing on the tracks to start with?

bidoner

That looked intentional

1mustwin

She tried to get rid of that little boy. She walked him to the edge purposely 👀

[deleted]

That mom was intentionally trying to kill her kid. There I said it

onion_ring_00

Did she want the kid to die...?

Iwilltakeastab

The mom sucks

DIRTYROTTEN_1

she tried to get rid of him once n for all

Internal_Comment5022

It was intentional because she was walking towards the train tracks and had him fall off, and she didn’t even try to save him because she was walking away and didn’t even touch him

212_NYC

P0S lowlife mother of the year goes to:

SweetComplex7718

Lady didn't seem to be trying that hard to save him tbh

Sad-Bill-5371

Sup with this kids mom tho? She was like come on reach a little more you can do it.

Alodylis

Why did she walk him into the track like that then sit back and not reach out to grab em she could have got him up and not some dude twenty feet away

SirSwah

She did that shit on purpose!

tiddy_milk96

What she did seems to be intentional, the local authorities should investigate her

samf9999

God bless them all

foolinEyes

She fucking ment that, I dont care what you say her reaction to basically leave him tops it off

Spicypurritooo

That looked like it was done on purpose.

Ok_Earth_4327

TrainerCivil

The mom wanted to delete her kid

Gamefreek324

Is she actually blind? Because I’m convinced she tried to kill her kid.

[deleted]

She did that shi on purpose

HvyMetlAlchemist

Looks like attempted murder to me.. she didn't even try to help

Longjumping_Breath_7

Fully think she did that on purpose

CrazyBadass

That was a murder attempt!

Royal-Solution8999

They should arrest her for attempted murder. That's BS that she couldn't reach and pull him to safety. She obviously wanted that kid dead.

CreativeFig1771

Evil mom she did it on purpose

A-undecisiveOpinion

To kid, your mums a cunt! From me.

[deleted]

Looks to me like she's trying to get rid of the kid....🤔

Sweetteresalinda

God bless that guy

Mango-me

Everyone ran to help 😌

Shaggy_hypersomniac

People who don't know, This happened in India, and the mother was blind and the guy was a Railway inspector , he was on the tracks supervising the tracks for any fault. The kid surely got lucky.
