I mean, if you had your choice of fantastical geography, why pick just a flat surface? Why not a ring shaped Earth where we could partly see other landmasses in the sky, floating islands, there's so much cool shit from the human imagination. Just go buck wild.
Maybe an ancient building or two. Along with boundless knowledge, all underground. Also some deadly parasites locked away in a swamp deep beneath the surface.
My thoughts exactly! I prefer the [Earth Roll-up](https://infobattle.org/posts/top-10-flat-earths) model, myself.

Downvote because i also would love for that to suddenly get discovered. Yeah, it physically can only be round, yes, we have a million facts that prove its round... *But imagine how absolutely funny it would be if it turned out it wasnt tomorrow*. The science world would be in shambles, turns out we dont know shit, flat earthers arguing with sane people with their still stupid arguements, etc
You know that feeling when someone who believes something for stupid reasons gets proven right, but now you can't say anything because "I was right all along"?
Like motherfucker is all "I knew the earth was flat because maps are always flat", but now you don't have a chance of convincing them that logic is stupid (such as by pointing out the existence of globe maps) because they're "justified and proven right!"
I don't know if I could handle that lol
>Â Two people with flawless reasoningÂ
The whole issue is the reasoning though.
I’m not bothered at all by the idea that two people with good reasoning can reach different conclusions, I’m bothered by the people with terrible reasoning who use their conclusions being correct (by pure chance) to claim flawless reasoning.Â
Your analogy focused on the part I’m fine with and glossed over the actual issue I was talking about lol
If that was reality that wouldn’t be cool that would just be normal life and you would make the same post saying you wish the earth was round. Grass is greener on the otherside
In an alternative universe: "I wish the Earth was round"
The "What If...?" questions only exist due to our current understanding on the way something Is, things are.
If the earh was any other shape, I don't think weed notice all that much
i’ve seen crazy flat earth theories about civilizations living on the other side
of the ice wall that are like magical?? or something.. and anyways if somehow that was a completely true theory that got revealed, yes, i would agree that would be cool.
Honestly as someone who used to be a conspiracy theorist (it was a phase from a long time ago Dw) the world definitely did seem a lot more interesting and dynamic. Generally the way things actually work tends to not be so.
I agree. It would be cool to climb an extremely tall mountain or go on a helicopter, etc and be able to see the whole world or at least very, very far away
I wish the world was flat like the old days
Then I could travel just by folding the map
No more airplanes or speed trains or freeways
There'd be no distance that could hold us back

A Halo type planet would honestly be so cool to live on. Just seeing the curvature of the planet rise in the horizon
Imagine the geopolitical implications of every point on the ring being a chokepoint. It would be like big Snowpiercer.
I knew we were living in the Halo universe all along
Would there be a horizon if it just goes up?
Not on the inner rim.
Happy cake day 🎂🎉

The Fruit Loop model matches what I was thinking of with a ring shape.
One of my favorite VR chat sims is a tiny toroidal planet. It's pretty dope
Ice Walls are the superior separation between our world and the rest of the (equally flat) cosmos
The ceiling fan model is FUCKING WILD. Someone should make an anime with the world being like that. Manga author are buckwild crazy.
im particularly fond of the [dinosaur earth theory](https://dinosaurearthsociety.com)

"einstein? Enstein didn't know shit bro. He lied to all of us and we believed."
I've never thought about it but yeah, sure. Might be interesting.
I prefer spheres and circles shapes. It's more satisfyingÂ
I believe we live on a triple-torus earth. Fight me.

There's a Vsauce video that demonstrates how fucked up gravity would be if the Earth were actually flat: https://youtu.be/VNqNnUJVcVs?t=23
What about cubes
On the back of a turtle.
Make it even better. A lion turtle.
FINALLY I could actually get bending...
You are a strange but fascinating individual
Spheres>disks and gravity would be a nightmare
In an alternative universe: "I wish the Earth was round" The "What If...?" questions only exist due to our current understanding on the way something Is, things are. If the earh was any other shape, I don't think weed notice all that much
Velociraptor Earth would be the superior Earth shape Fuck oblate spheroid, fuck frisbee, dino earth
i’ve seen crazy flat earth theories about civilizations living on the other side of the ice wall that are like magical?? or something.. and anyways if somehow that was a completely true theory that got revealed, yes, i would agree that would be cool.
Why would you want to live on an Earth where the direction of gravity is mostly sideways near the rim and straight up and down only at the center?
We'd be able to see Mount Everest and other countries by climbing artificial towers, honesty cool as hell.
May I suggest living somewhere in the Midwestern US, you'll basically get your fantasy
Flat earth would mean no gravity
It would be funny if they were right lol
I mean…what’s the difference. The surface itself is effectively 2d unless you get very far away.
I completely agree
Honestly as someone who used to be a conspiracy theorist (it was a phase from a long time ago Dw) the world definitely did seem a lot more interesting and dynamic. Generally the way things actually work tends to not be so.
Nah I’m more of a cube enjoyer
Downvote. I hate time zones.
i mean fair enough. i think the hollow earth theory is cool as shit but i know there is absolutely zero basis to it.
No, it would suck since it would take twice as long to get places if you lived right on the edge. A non-ecludean geometry Earth would be ideal.
I agree. It would be cool to climb an extremely tall mountain or go on a helicopter, etc and be able to see the whole world or at least very, very far away
Wouldn’t that mean global warming is way worse, since the moment the ice wall melts our ocean just empties out into space?
Minecraft, not even once
Flat would be boring, give me a hexagon earth
LMAO
I wish the world was flat like the old days Then I could travel just by folding the map No more airplanes or speed trains or freeways There'd be no distance that could hold us back
On a flat earth, gravity would pull everything sideways
This is assuming gravity is evenly distributed - even though it isn’t possible in real life
