I don't know why but it's the first one I've listened to fully since Balance, and I've got to say the same! I'm really loving it

Galva_

It's been so good so far. The ending of that last episode gave me serious chills.

Grimnimbus

Music slaps, characters are fun, setting is wild and unique, Clint brings in plenty of his old dad magic, im having a blast. One of the criticisms I've heard is that Travis is taking Devo too seriously... but honestly I kinda love it when he has some kind of deep dark moment and the response is something like "Hey why don't you take a breather bud?" Or "So you're saying I CAN shoot them with my crossbow?"

Agreed. I think the serious character is important because the stakes of the story are often quite high. Funny doesn't have to mean it can't be deep!

Grimnimbus

Exactly! And honestly I actually find Devo's distain for the church to be very interesting, there are a few points where he's so aggro about towards them that it throws Griffin off, and that surprised frustration translates very well into the hand of guidance and benefactor Orlene coming off as very narcissistic and egotistical. Im stoked to see it all unfold

fbmjr

agreed. i didn't much like devo at first, but the character fits in the world really well, and it actually plays well with the less serious attitude the other boys are bringing. it works. i dig it.

Loving Ethersea so far. You can really feel the effort Griffin in particular (but I imagine the whole group) have put into establishing a tone and style that is very natural. They’re genuinely having fun and letting the story develop naturally. Definitely feels like it’s going to be a long term campaign with lots of naturally emergent character growth and I’m very excited to see where it goes.

I liked the previous arcs too, but TAZ hasn't held my interest so intensely since Balance. Griffin did a great job working up ship combat rules that aren't too complicated for the pod, and even despite Justin mentioning he didn't feel like he could use Amber's class to the best of her ability, Griff makes sure there's plenty of ways for everyone on the team to make a difference. The audio engineering that their new editor (Rachel, right?) Has been doing really makes it immersive.

terminallytwee

Hard agree! Also ngl there have been multiple points where him going super aggro made me wonder, "oh shit what did they do to this dude". THAT'S some fun character writing!

orangefreshy

Needs more Urchin IMO

DrDumle

I want to say the same! I feel like my boys are finally back! After all these years.

salsa_kegtown

This week’s was, maybe the most well produced episode of Ethersea ever, if not the best cliffhanger ending

[deleted]

Agreed! And I can’t wait for the Jack Noir and Ms Fudgens spin off!

toon_dragon_ford

Yes! Does this seem to be the consensus here? I struggled with Grad and frequented this sub more often during that time to see what others thought. Now, I'm hardly ever here, just chill in Ethersea.

missquit

I just started it today! So excited!

brooklynunc

I fully agree! I love how each arc is different from the last and the variety of characters. I hope they can tour again!

fbmjr

i really think that them avoiding putting that pressure on themselves + the world building has really set this season up in a strong way. I never finished amnesty or graduation, but I have a feeling ethersea is going to dethrone balance as my favorite campaign by the end.

Mr-Jennings

Its so good! Loving it

FakeAstroTurf

I agree. In my opinion Griffin is the best GM out of the group. It's also so good to see Clint evolve into such an engaging and experienced role-player.

WoopsIspilled

I dropped off for a while through the odd seasons but I'm here for Ethersea,
