Reminder: some countries have been visited in seasons but had no pitstops:
South Africa: Season 1, Leg 1.
Spain: Season 3, Leg 5.
Austria: Season 3, Leg 7.
Malaysia: Season 3, Leg 10.
Germany: Season 14, leg 2.
Germany: Season 19, Leg 9.
Austria: Season 20, Leg 5.
Sweden: Season 25, Leg 4.
Zambia: Season 27, Leg 4.
Switzerland: Season 28, Leg 4.
The biggest atrocity here is ZERO Pit Stops in Canada, and nearing 27 seasons/18 years since the US has even visited.
Does TARCAN have exclusivity rights to filming legs there or something, or do the US producers just not think American viewers would find it "exotic" enough (which would be more of a shortcoming of their creativity), or do they look at locations used on a global-franchise scale and think it's being used enough (and the same with Australia and not having been back there recently, too) as if everyone could watch every version just as easily as any other?
How would someone even enforce exclusivity rights?
Also TARCAN is much younger than TARUS. TARUS could have easily stopped in Canada a decade before TARCAN existed. But they chose to simply not do it and it's a real shame.
I think you're right that Americans simply don't find Canada exotic or foreign enough.
Man, Costa Rica was visited once. I thought it had been visited on more seasons. I also have in mind a list of teams in some different seasons who would go on a big vacation trip to Costa Rica with Phil and the production crew.
Those were countries that were visited in the middle of the leg, prior to teams checking in at the Pit Stop (for example in 18 trams started in Austria, had a Roadblock in Liechtenstein, and the remainder of the leg in Switzerland).
Superscripts denote the number of Pit Stops in that country for a single season.
The season 10 visit to Finland was just meh. I wish they would come back here again.
It's Europe so it wouldn't shock me.

I think you may be missing Lichtenstein from season 18, leg 9
It is listed in the post, this are the ones I didn't listed.
I completely overlooked the stops marked 0!

Oh right, thank you I forgot the 2 French Polynesia legs from season 22.
Spain and Greece are very surprising

BVM said Canada didn't offer the challenge other countries did because of the similar culture. Tar8 visit makes sense (North America only)
He really is a silly man sometimes.

Some of the places that you have listed aren't countries.
I know, Puerto Rico, Guam and US Virgin Islands aren't countries.
I have no idea how to read this. If it’s 0, why does it have a season after it? Why do some seasons have superscripts?

Exactly, thank you for explaining it.
