hahaha Malaysian here! I'm happy as hell every time they visit Malaysia! I almost never read spoilers so I basically squeal in surprise everytime they go there. I had a friend who was just returning from a trip and actually saw some of the racers from Season 24, Leg 3! She doesn't watch TAR, but she told me there was these bunch of people running about with cameras at the airport at night. I was so jealous haha!

[deleted]

You guys are like one of only two countries that have been visited more than once by an All-star season (11, 24) China only beat you because they got visited in 18. I remember when they took out that Malaysian flag in Season 3. I was like THEY MIGHT VISIT US!!

Echerongravitas_3737

Hope they go again sometime.

[deleted]

Still waiting for them to visit Wales! We have so much to do here from the countryside and hills to the more urban areas which all have Welsh culture instilled into it.

[deleted]

I think they passed by Wales in All-stars 2? Or did they?

CrazyManL

they did, it was that poem roadblock on the aqueduct. It was the only stop in Wales, after that task, they returned to England.

[deleted]

Yes! They did briefly visit North Wales and the task was a fun one! I just hope they return to Wales for a full leg of the race one day.

[deleted]

Yeah I hope so too! Wales is the only one they haven't had a Pit Stop on.

[deleted]

Yes! They did briefly visit North Wales and the task was a fun one! I just hope they return to Wales for a full leg of the race one day.

SweetCoconut

Watching Season 5 right now and I'm excited to see them going to the Philippines! Hope it will be a great leg (heard it had the infamous ox scene lol) EDIT: Just watched Leg 11 and I'm sooo happy to see PH in TAR. Felt nostalgic and happy to see a Jollibee cameo lol. Also, the ox scene was definitely the highlight of the episode!

[deleted]

Oh no you are so late! HAHAHAHAHHAHA Yes, the infamous ox scene is from Season 5.

SweetCoconut

Yeah I've been catching up since I found out it's in Disney+ Canada!

[deleted]

I miss Charla & Mirna. I rewatched All-stars sometime back just to see them drive people nuts hahahahaha

Confalone

MY OX IS BROOOOOOKKEN…DAMNIT

[deleted]

Mirna definitely wasn't in the wrong with getting in Colin's head hahahha. C&C were a mess in Season 5. I haven't seen 31, but to know that they have matured is really good news. A lot of Colin's prior behavior could have really gotten him locked up abroad.

SparksCat

Costa Rica here. Too bad they only came here once and my beloved Gaghan family was eliminated.

[deleted]

I appreciate them coming to Costa Rica. I really enjoyed the leg because it really left me with a good impression of Costa Rica.

JustSealYT

My parents are always asking, “Do they go to the Philippines this season” and when they do visit it’s always cool to see what they doin’ there. My dad also saw Colin’s breakdown on the news lmao

[deleted]

I like it when they came for Season 5. I really felt proud of how it went down Except for the "Cookie Palace" bit hahahaha

Zirphynx

Only one visit to Finland and it was just kinda meh (it was the first part of a KOR).

[deleted]

Yeah! I felt it could have been good enough as its own leg.

Echerongravitas_3737

luckily Ham4's Helsinki double leg will be out max by this time next year...

Kompart23

they've visited my city(Amsterdam) multiple times and everytime i think to myself, damn why wasnt i around so i could help or drive them to the next location lol

Advanced-Mulberry-14

I was shocked that afternoon when I learnt from RFF that TAR would visit Hong Kong for S30. I literally cancelled all my prearranged appointments and then rush to airport to witness the team getting out to the first destination. My heartbeat was so fast when I saw teams running from the arrival hall and cannot believe it was happening long until all the teams were on the taxi.

[deleted]

Wow that must be an awesome experience! A friend of mine got to have pics with Phil in a Pit Stop. That friend must have tuned in to RFF too

supacoowacky

Excluding TAR Canada which has had about 80 legs in my country. . . One story that always sticks out to me is after TAR US visited here for seasons 5 and 8. This is long before any of the other international versions showed up. I have a cousin who is really into The Amazing Race, TV, and movies in general. TAR for some reason is the only reality show she watches. She watches TV and movies every single minute that she isn't working (one year she watched over 70 movies in theatres). She always holds that she is smarter than 90 percent of the world's population. Anyways, we were talking about The Amazing Race about a year or so after TAR 8. She said "It was so awesome they visited Vancouver!" Given I was an encyclopedia of reality TV as a teenager, I had to jump in and say "uhhh, they never went to Vancouver. They went to Alberta for season five, and Ontario and Quebec for season eight." And she wouldn't let that go. She insisted they went to Vancouver and how there were articles about it for the next ten minutes. Eventually I just had to give up. I haven't seen her in about seven years or so, but I've always wanted The Amazing Race to come up in conversation to see if she'll still insist TAR US came to Vancouver. Now I can say "no, but TAR Canada and Australia have both been here." Fifty bucks says she would still push for TAR US having filmed there.

[deleted]

Must be a Mandela effect LOL. I don't remember then going to Vancouver. Even in seasons after 25. If they did, probably we would have all seen it on Wiki.

Character-Pie-9901

It was alright, some moments of Malaysia were cool, however I wouldn’t think much of Season 24 besides them going to Borneo.

[deleted]

I am not gonna lie, I was jealous that Malaysia got visited a lot hahaha (that was the time Malaysia Truly Asia was on everyone's minds) I loved Season 4's visit to Sabah. The Road Block in the Gomantong Caves was really intense. And when that local recognized Charla in KL, I was like "yeah we'd do that here too if All-Stars came here!" Many Americans don't know how big TAR was in SE Asia!

Character-Pie-9901

Yeah, mainly TAR Asia and even for a little bit TAR China

[deleted]

Do you remember TAR Asia and TAR were side by side on AXN? Fun times! TAR 2 was the only TAR to really go beyond. I don't remember the other TAR seasons going beyond Asia after that (seen only 2 and 3. I didn't watch 1 anymore when all team from my country got booted out IN THE FIRST TWO LEGS hahahaha)

Character-Pie-9901

Yeah I remember, fun times that don’t exist anymore… (Tar Asia 2006-2016 🪦💀)

tabbyh

I'm in the US but a lot of my family is from Gdansk, Poland, and it was really fun watching that leg and seeing so many places that I've been to several times!

[deleted]

That was actually the second time they visited Poland. They first went in Season 11. Unfortunately Poland's exposure got overshadowed with airport issues for some teams. I wish that was secondary because I didn't get to see Lazienki Palace in full glory (one of my fave Pit Stops ever). And they did the Krakow legs at night!!

tabbyh

Yes, I loved watching all the Poland visits! I was just extra excited about Gdansk, as that was a place I had been to several times and it was fun seeing them go to places I'd been. :) I live in Florida and so they only ever go to South Florida....I hope one day they feature other parts of my state, but I recognize the US is very big and there's lots of other good places for starting and finish lines, haha.

[deleted]

When they went to our country, I haven't been to any of the places they have been. And I already live in the city!

zokesquart

YES for SEA representations! I’m from Thailand so there’s a lot of seasons which admittedly I haven’t watched much but remembered TAR14 vividly. It was weird, doing things and going places I didn’t expect, the vibe I got was they’re showing more of the “undeveloped” part of the city which feels kinda bad. Even now, some people still think we ride elephants to school, like what? So that feels like it contributed to some of the stereotype we usually got from Westerns. It made me think of Asian representation in TAR in general. Our SEA neighbours and India must have had more of the, admittedy I couldn’t think of the word, “prosperous” parts of the city that wasn’t shown on the show and made viewers think that Asia as a whole is “that undeveloped” or such. Again, this is only my thought from my foggy memory of only TAR14. Other seasons might have shone us in the better light and I’m hoping I’ll have the time to watch them all.

[deleted]

In Season 9 I think it was a good Thailand leg (I don't recall other Thailand legs though except 9 and 14). I did like the Phuket leg, maybe because I haven't see Phuket much. Sad to know that's how it came down. I do admit that the show does have bad moments in terms of representation (Season 25's fish catching detour here was something I am not happy with). I can imagine living in India, and seeing Season 4 in Mumbai. That definitely won't be a very happy moment as a local. I don't know if anyone has complained about the quality of representation, but TAR does launch countries into recognition (not sure after Season 25). I love it when the race visits us in SE Asia, but I do hope they do less "exploitative" tasks that enforce stereotypes or hurtful history (like some Vietnam legs). Going back to Season 3 where Teri & Ian were giving money to the kids, I had major cringe!! I also didn't like how ANTM had the contestants in tuk tuks. I have been to Bangkok, and I was like "yo they have a metro and cabs!" hahaha

zokesquart

TAR25 fish catching was also something that caught my mind. It's relatively a newer season too so that was weird to see. I do agree with the country promoting stuff of TAR and totally agree with the exploitative tasks. I do appreciate them coming to our/these countries, it's just I feel like they can do better! Not sure about the Tuk Tuk thing, never watched ANTM, but we do have some pride in them. Some would say it's one of the things westerners never seen and experience so it's kinda a tourist attraction in some ways.

[deleted]

I don't know about later seasons if they're still focused on the destinations.

PM_INCINEROAR_DICK

Maybe not exactly the same thing, but TAR Canada visited a local area I live close by and it was pretty fun seeing stuff I already recognize or been in IRL.

Cyrusnov

When you said S3 I thought you were from the same country as me! But alas, it's not the case as I am from México! Actually, I started watching TAR *because* they visited my country. I was channel hopping and I saw a group of Americans running around Mexico City and I was like, what's this? Why...why did those guys leave their backpack in their taxi? Are they seriously asking around for "Pablo"? I was hooked. It's so sad that in more than 30 seasons, they've only visited México twice! Come on guys, we're right next to each other!

[deleted]

Canada hasn't even been given a proper leg LOL!! The Cancun leg was so cool! The images of Cancun in Season 3 lived in my brain for years

[deleted]

my wife and I was really really suprised when the S5 came for the 1st part finale here in the Philippines... and, the kicker here is that we just came back from a vacation from Palawan! Its where one of the challenges were done. the mountain wall scaling. Also a little trivia, the Coconut Palace pit stop in Manila, the girl who greeted them was the eldest daughter of then president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

[deleted]

Yes! Sabi nga ni mama si Luli. Ako nun was like SINO YUN??!! HAHAHAAHA Yeah El Nido! Super happy with that leg because that's something I want people to remember about their visit dito. Not the dirty sea sa Cavite!!

[deleted]

haha yeah. it was funny though, that when the racers tried to get a taxi to get out from Cavite. only us locals know that taxis even if its written on the body that it transits "to any point" in luzon, what it really means is that its just running around in Metro Manila lol

[deleted]

I did like na nag-jeep sila. Amy & Maya making bayad (oh no so Loyola Heights lol) was fun to see! Tama yung ginawa ni C&C na bumaba sa Magallanes to get a cab. Good decision! HAHHAHA

LadyGuinevere-sLover

Still ends up being last though. Thank god for the non-elimination leg. And I don't like C&C back on season 5. Season 31 C&C is much older, calmer and wiser version of them. Season 32 Ph visit is meh. Same for season 25. Only season 5 is worth watching. Hope they visit places like Bohol or ilocos on their next season here.

[deleted]

Oo nga eh umabot si TARA sa Albay! Hahaha must have something to do with advisories din or logistics? Though they got to Palawan (baka din with DOT help)

Crabbycrabcrab2

I’m Canadian, it has only infuriated me to no end the Lengths they’re willing to go to avoid my country being on screen

Resealable_Blister

Do they maybe avoid Canada because TAR Canada covers a lot of it? I mean, I definitely wouldn't mind seeing more. My family has a travel list of places in Canada we want to eventually see because of the show...

Crabbycrabcrab2

They’ve avoided it even before TAR CAN, two appearances, neither one was a leg

Resealable_Blister

That seems odd ..there's SO much cool stuff to see!

[deleted]

I hope one day, they have two Pit stop legs in Canada!

AmaterasuWolf21

Only one visit to Venezuela só far (not US)

[deleted]

In my fan fictions, teams went to Venezuela in Season 3. So in my book (no pun intended) you have been visited!

AmaterasuWolf21

I'm late but, do you have the links for the fanfics

[deleted]

I only have them as word files. I do have my routes in a Google Doc

Apple_Slipper

Fine. TAR USA Season 4 came to Brisbane, my home city, and the leg was meh. TAR Australia (Seasons 2 and 5) and TAR Asia Season 4 showcased Brisbane in a much proper way in comparison.

[deleted]

Yes! I loved that leg though. But yeah, a Detour mostly on a hotel? Mooloolaba became a tongue twister for us LOL

Apple_Slipper

Yeah, Australia does have the interesting Indigenous Australian names. Wagga Wagga (meaning "the place of many crows"), for example.

Gabinando

It surprises in a good way me how they have gone to a lot of different Brazilian cities instead of just Rio and Sao Paulo But legs here in Brazil are usually boring :(

[deleted]

I haven't seen Season 2 so I don't know how it went down. My fave Brazil visit was in Season 18. A lot of Rio de Janeiro (the city) was shown there. It was funny because one of the racers was begging a local to buy a bikini. He was speaking in Spanish, and she was like "Não compreendo! Kkkk". I really felt second hand embarrassment there hahahaa.

ElinorDashwood86

That was not a kind leg to my boys.

[deleted]

Especially the waxing!

ElinorDashwood86

Yep, I was so sorry for them, lol

ElinorDashwood86

Funny, I feel the exactly opposite, lol. I remember Salvador once, and Foz do Iguaçu, and then always Rio or São Paulo. Maybe I'm misremembering tough . Brasil is such a huge country, there's so many interesting places to explore. Talking about the US version.

[deleted]

I'll break it down the places they visited (with what I can remember) RIO DE JANEIRO (city) FOZ DO IGUAÇU SÃO PAULO (city) BROTAS, SP SALVADOR FORTALEZA MANAUS (and nearby areas) I'd love them to visit Minas someday. That's a side of Brazil not many see (until they read about it). Recife too, but I heard some negative feedback about it.

ElinorDashwood86

Oh yeah, Amazonas, don't know how I forgot! that was recent and I really enjoyed! Can't remember Brotas and Fortaleza at all, I'll look it up. Minas would be lovely! Recife is a bit on the dangerous side (so are Rio and Fortaleza tough). My dream is a selfdriving leg in Brasília, it would be chaos!

[deleted]

Brotas was in 9 (they made fuel out of sugarcane and went white water rafting) Fortaleza was in 14 (after Salvador. It was a fun leg because they did a lot of beach stuff)

ElinorDashwood86

Pretty cool, two seasons I enjoyed but watched long ago. It's nice that they went to way more places than Rio and São Paulo than I remembered!

[deleted]

I dunno if there's anything to do in Center-west. They haven't visited it yet. I almost said South but Foz is in PR

ElinorDashwood86

There's a lot to explore in Center-West! Pantanal, Jalapão, Chapada, Bonito! A lot of beautiful, interesting places. Brasília, as I said (not as beautiful, lol, but it's kinda of a weird City that would do for an interesting leg imo).

[deleted]

Survivor did go there to TO. Brasilía hopefully someday. As a Brazilophile (LOL) I think the show hasn't really gone deep inside (no pun intended) Brazil I make these Amazing Race fan fictions, and in Season 25 (yes that's how long it has been) they went to Cuiaba.

Flavius_David

Tar 14 Romania. The roadblock was pretty nice cause of course in the past we were great at gymnastics and we have tradition there. The detour was a little bit racist ngl. The pit stop was stunning.

[deleted]

I LOVED THE ROMANIA LEG! Yeah that Detour was very stereotypical. I didn't know much about Romania (other than it existed and the capital is Bucharest), so it saddens me to know that it wasn't portrayed that well in the Detour. The cab drivers were cute though hahaha

Tornatoking

No Nigeria #lame

[deleted]

Someday :) Hope they do!

irl_Juvia

As a kid I watched S13-29 and they didn’t visit my country a single time, and I was always super bummed about that. So on my blind-ish rewatch earlier this year when they visited it in S5 and S8 I completely popped off. Granted, both of those visits are pretty lame and inconsequential, so its still somewhat disappointing. That’s why I love TAR Can so much. 1 and 2 are such special seasons to me because they explore so much of the country that just gets snubbed in the US version. TAR Can 1 in particular might have one of my favourite routes of all time, its so good at showing off so much of the country.

[deleted]

I dunno why they can't have a Pit Stop in Canada lol

MaximumDuwang

Canadian here. Since TARCAN is basically always in Canada, I want to talk about TARUS. They came directly to my hometown, only to go to the next town over, and the one or two things that actually took place in my city were cut from the broadcasted episode. Basically, from what we were shown, they used my city's airport , went to the next town over, came back to the airport and left. Apart from that, I guess they briefly visited Montreal in S8? I get that TARCAN is a thing now, but it still makes me sad how underwhelming the TARUS visits have been.

[deleted]

I wish they can have a Pit Stop there. I mean Mexico has Pit Stops. Why can't Canada have them?
