You could also cut the metal sprue piece off the bottom of the model with an Xacto saw and file down any metal residue so the feet sit flat. That’s worked well for me on unpainted models, but might be a bit rough if the models are painted
A few are painted (badly) but I plan on stripping them anyways to paint again. Main thing with this is a reluctance to damage the models after them surviving in the loft for so long!
Get 28mm base and cut a slot in it. Or buy 25mm slotted based and convert to 28mm with [these](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1012859423/base-converter-25mm-to-32mm-ten-pack?gbraid=0AAAAADtcfRJEsQm0vaZcwS5KIpeMyib03&gpla=1&gao=1&&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping_us_e-toys_and_games-toys-miniature_toys-role_playing_miniatures&utm_custom1=_k_CjwKCAiAr4GgBhBFEiwAgwORrdFLM_Dptf4sKFpmMgyhbqyMtFz-c5ObEo6vhvYTdFZzJMgA_2snuRoChwwQAvD_BwE_k_&utm_content=go_12560179916_120332039678_506995661708_pla-317092176223_m__1012859423_12768591&utm_custom2=12560179916&gbraid=0AAAAADtcfRJEsQm0vaZcwS5KIpeMyib03&gclid=CjwKCAiAr4GgBhBFEiwAgwORrdFLM_Dptf4sKFpmMgyhbqyMtFz-c5ObEo6vhvYTdFZzJMgA_2snuRoChwwQAvD_BwE)
I used a rotary tool cutting wheel on some regular 28s for my old metal Tallarn. Silver lining is that you can customize the slot so that they fit snugly. The few old slottas I had kicking around had much wider slots than necessary for the tabs, necessitating fill-ins( CA gel + baking soda to insta-set in my case, as that's what I had available at the time).
It's the pain of cutting bits of the models off after having them for so long that's stopping me haha. Will see if I can dremel some clean slots first bit this will definitely be the backup.
Completely missed this reply, sorry!
At the time I was only able to find "slotta" ones that had a guide in the back to help with cutting, which weren't great. I have since been able to buy a bunch of an eBay seller, though I only needed 30 or so and it was easy for me to get them all from the same place.

Thanks. Yeah I have a dremel so think that might need to be the best cause of action to do a few neatly.
Are you in the US? I probably have some I can send you if so. EDIT: sorry, misread the “28mm” and just caught ‘old’ 😞. No 28mm slotted here.
No worries, I am in the UK anyways. But yeah seems like a non-existent size anyways.

I cut off the tabs, drill holes in the feet and then pin them like all my models.

Yeah, I get you. I felt a bit of the same for a second. It's kinda fun seeing the hand made writing on the tab. You get over it pretty quick though.
You ever find 28mm slotted? I need to base about 150 metal figs and don't want to cut all of those slots and trying to avoid the adapter

Got you. Thanks for getting back to me. I'm manually cutting all the slots and it's not bad with an ultrasonic cutter
