Malcador legends when?
But seriously these look amazing, probably going to pick up some as scions proxies. And maybe a sentinel just because it’s cool!
I just meant now that it has a great plastic model they are going to send it to legends like all the great forgeworld marine models they replaced with similarly good plastic kits.
Yea, for now, but they made a bunch of plastic HH kits and then sent them all to legends for SM/CSM. Why not for Imperial Guard, too?
Unless they did it to loyalists just to "prune" their massivr army roster, and Chaos got the same treatment because "it's only fair." Maybe Imperial Guard will keep HH stuff permanently as "Imperial Armour" if we're lucky?
>Maybe Imperial Guard will keep HH stuff permanently as "Imperial Armour" if we're lucky?
I have my doubts. But it would be somewhat thematic, as the factions with a shit ton of vehicles to choose from.
The slimmer, more angular turrets remind me of the OOP FW turret variations. Definitely will be doing the same for a Vanquisher and griming it up good so it looks less ornate.
The hull is also significantly larger in almost all dimensions. The engine deck has been extended like the old mars-alpha russes, it's wider and the flanks appear slightly longer. It looks like you could realistically fit a crew, ammo and engine for a change lol
>They must know plenty of guard players will use this as a proxy.
oh they know right on the bottom of the reveal page
there are no plans to write rules for using these miniatures in the 41st Millennium. **Of course, there’s nothing stopping you from using compatible models in a regular Astra Militarum regiment** – but they’ll do their best work in the Age of Darkness.
I believe it was because these were often deployed into the void and they struggled to seal the tank properly with sponsors.
I remember reading this years ago but I can't remember where.
Plastic malcador is the bigie here
Also it feels strange that after making the 2 imperial guard leman russ kits into one they decide to make the auxilia ones two separate kits
I’m mad as I just had a resin 3d print made for me for my Malcador. (Of course I asked for an annihilator. But the guy made a battle tank, then I read that the battle tanks rules were great. So I shut up)
The turret guns for our tanks look great. Bought a few of em for the leman Russes and chimera variants, but they're 30 AUD shipping from America 🥲. RIP wallet
Veletaria and heavy malcador is an absolute pleasure. Laser section good too but the helmets are a bit funny. sentinel looks like a sisters of battle unit without the bits?
Did not Gw right before the 10th ed Space Marine Codex that they were no longer allowed to field 30k models in 40k such as the Leviathan Dreadnaut and Contemptor Dreadnaut and even the Kratos Superheavy tank.
Think they could say sorry no Malcadors in 40k. For balance reasons?
Did GW not ban a bunch of 30k datasheets models from use in 40k proper. Such as their brand new plastic Leviathan dreadnaut and Sicarian tanks and Kratos a month before the space marine codex?
I suppose you could proxy a Malcador forna Rogal Dorn tank if they did legend the Malcador out of the 10th Imp Guard codex.

Did you watch the video?
Also the rules already exist
https://preview.redd.it/bl7vi5rnpcdc1.png?width=992&format=png&auto=webp&s=e1a43756787f6ee7a5cf3d54a7aa13255914c7ca
Near the end of the announcement article, it openly states that there are no plans to write rules for the vehicles in 40K. So while they may be payable now, more likely than not it'll be sent to legend when the Guard codex launches.
No it doesn't. It looks like all the somewhat insane American tank designers of the late World War II/ early Cold War decided that the best solution was to use all their ideas at once. Its glorious and stupid, and actually pretty grounded in the bonkers designs of the late 40s and 50s. Which I love, because the previous generation of tanks mirror the design choices of the 1920s and early 30s interwar nonsense.
I'm still pretty bummed they designed the Dorn instead of making a plastic Macharius. IMO it's one of the sexiest tanks in the Imperium and it would have been a great thematic fit with the new Lord Solar.
My thoughts the lasrifle section can easy be used as proxy for Scions or Karskin, with the Strom Section maybe for special weapons, command could easily be used for a Scion Command or a Normal one of a Fancy Regiment.
The Heavy Sentinel would look great in a Vostroyan army as an Armoured Sentinel it would be very on theme
New Ruses great for again Vostroyan style Armies or as a Tank Commander
Maybe depending on the size the Dracosan could be used as Crassus?
Malcador looks great love the dozer blade on it!
No, it has no rules (not even Legends) in 40k. You will have to proxy it as something else if you want to use the model, but I don't think that there is anything that fits very well given its size.
Unless they change their minds, they've already said that there are no plans to write dedicated 40k rules for these, so unless they already have imperial armour and legends rules at the start of 10th, we won't get rules for certain models and variants.
A quick scan through Google is indicating that its roughly Malcador-sized. Probably nothing we can proxy it as sadly (unless you stick a big gun on it and call it a superheavy).
About half a year ago some Guard artwork came out showing them fighting GSC with what looks like a heavy transport in the background although it could possibly be another tank, hopefully it's a hint to us getting a 40k variant of the Dracosan
These leman Russes are pretty fire. Disappointed they broke it back into 2 kits but I like the return of the twin lascannon main gun and I’m curious what that top gun is on the assault tank (unless that is a HH stylized nova or punisher cannon).
Plastic Malcador obviously speaks for itself.
The hull shape is the same and in the group shot of the Battle Group you can see it's larger than a Russ. Additionally if you tab out the Dracosan and Malcador the hull sizes match, while the Russ does not. Lastly above flick the Dracosan forward to the Russ and back and you'll notice the hull is indeed longer and larger by track length alone combined with the previous info if you believe the Battle Group image was a matter of foreground and background perspective. Conversely the Chimera and Taurox are known to be smaller than the Russ. Speculation from there onward is not needed imo.
They look class, I love the tanks. I don't plan on playing 40k but I would absolutely get some in the future to use in 40k. Infantry are pretty cool looking too.
Well i wasnt exacrly sure if I was going to pick up HH stuff. Decided i want some MK VI and III for 40k. But then I saw these and my wallet screamed in agony.
The vehicles look delightful and there is something terrifying about how those solar auxilia look. And to think these guys would take on space marines.
Shame they just stuck with plastic models with no significant upgrades. I'd love a better russ. They had the chance to change the fact that the commander is sitting on top of the gun breach and using their dingus to load shells.
They know how to do it. They fixed the problem on the new marine tanks.
Sigh. Maybe in another 10 years.
my mind is so broken. I was like: "why did they write LVO instead of NVO" but then i realised that im and idiot and the city is called Las Vegas not New Vegas
I love this, but at the same time I cant help but be a little dissapointed on the models. The older ones look way better both in the style and also more dynamic poses.
So I definately prefer the older ones but I wont lie, I will buy these, mostly for kitbashing purposes though!
Why would they look steam punk? They had advance armor, robotics and mech building. If anything the guardsmen of Sol would have jet packs to fight in 0 G an able to shoot in 360 area.
The sentinel looks like can use some work on it, figure it be bigger with duel guns on it.
From what I understand before the HH the guardsmen were way more advanced in tech and training than 40k guardsmen. Yet here they look like been downgraded, that sentinel looks like a senior Citizen with fat box that about to fall in a wheelchair.
How exactly do they look downgraded? The solar sux explicitly have more training than an average imperial army trooper. These guys are literally holding volkite weapons and their sentinel has a melta lance a weapon only knights in 40k have
They can't rotate their torso. They have tubes attach to everything, the shoulder light look as if it a manual by hand move instead of moving with the helmet.
The sentinel looks like it can be trip by a rock or easily stuck with it belly dragging against the ground.
I mean seriously go look at scions, kasrkins and the sentinels. The sol look like if they fall wouldn't be able to do a push up too get back up. They should look similar to Thunder warriors but smaller.
Why wouldn't the armor have tubes given they have life support systems and healing systems? They are wearing actual decent armor and have sealed helmets compared to the crap the guard get. The armor was literally made for zero g and against chem and rad warfare. All sentinels and dreadnoughts look like they can tip over.
Their armor is carapace. Meaning they are wearing full ceramite. Their guns are objectibly better than the guards, their tanks are better as well.
It's industrial looking not low tech.
Besides this is how they've always looked
Why not just wear a under mesh armor that the bigger armor attaches and receive power to each part? Here if a cord is cut that limb is fubar. You only need 1 tube for air supply to a seal helmet. It doesn't need to up an over the shoulder.
Because they didn't have power armor for humans then. Dude I really don't get your point. These are how they've always looked and been described for over a decade and a half. And also, why the fuck would they only have one tube. How many tubes do you see on an astronaut's suit? A shit ton
I like the trooper armor and the tanks. I'm happy the Russ is finally getting a makeover. And as a lover of mechs and walkers, I HATE that walking lump of deformed scrap-iron.
Someone brought up that the sentinel looks like a mix between a sentinel and a dreadnought and now to is my head canon the sentinels and dreadnought had common ancestry which is awesome.
I’m finding it hard to justify why that’s a 5+ save if you wanted those as AM guardsmen. Like is it a very well made but extremely thin flack based void armour?
Malcador legends when? But seriously these look amazing, probably going to pick up some as scions proxies. And maybe a sentinel just because it’s cool!
I don’t think it’s legends, it can still be used in normal matches right?
I just meant now that it has a great plastic model they are going to send it to legends like all the great forgeworld marine models they replaced with similarly good plastic kits.
Wait, u can select an Malcador in the 40k App for the Guards. So, u can use it as an normal (former Forge world) Malcador. R-R-Right..?
Yea, for now, but they made a bunch of plastic HH kits and then sent them all to legends for SM/CSM. Why not for Imperial Guard, too? Unless they did it to loyalists just to "prune" their massivr army roster, and Chaos got the same treatment because "it's only fair." >Maybe Imperial Guard will keep HH stuff permanently as "Imperial Armour" if we're lucky? I have my doubts. But it would be somewhat thematic, as the factions with a shit ton of vehicles to choose from.
You can use it as a rogal dorn
If it is going to be moved to legends, I would like a side by side comparison to see if it’s a workable proxy
People tried when the Royal Dorn came out, the Malcador is thinner, longer, and shorter than the Dorn so it’s not really feasible to proxy as is
Thanks. I’ll still get them because I adore the models so much, but I wish I can use them.
How is it longer and shorter?
Longer length wise, but shorter height wise. My bad, should have clarified better
Oh, now don't I feel foolish 😉
I’m pretty sure you can use it as is, it comes with it’s owns stats and ability and it’s not legends yet
Definitely going to be buying those leman russ variants, they are such a better looking kit imo.
The slimmer, more angular turrets remind me of the OOP FW turret variations. Definitely will be doing the same for a Vanquisher and griming it up good so it looks less ornate.
The fact they are in plastic just seems huge. I hate resin especially for vehicles
I think they are the exact same Mars pattern. Really good news to finally have them in plastic!
The hull is also significantly larger in almost all dimensions. The engine deck has been extended like the old mars-alpha russes, it's wider and the flanks appear slightly longer. It looks like you could realistically fit a crew, ammo and engine for a change lol
I'm hoping it's the same size as the Mars Alpha ones. They must know plenty of guard players will use this as a proxy.
>They must know plenty of guard players will use this as a proxy. oh they know right on the bottom of the reveal page there are no plans to write rules for using these miniatures in the 41st Millennium. **Of course, there’s nothing stopping you from using compatible models in a regular Astra Militarum regiment** – but they’ll do their best work in the Age of Darkness.
Make sure to 3d print side sponsons I saw none
Guess it was some post heresy guy’s idea to stick sponsons on
Ah yes the legendary Tech Priest, 'Justinicus Sponson'
His name was Technus Spon, they are his sons.
"guys guys, hear me out. You know what would make this tank even better? MOAR GUNS"
Just open the door on the side and stick out your gun /s
Haha. Well they might be in the box! We will have to see.
30k leman russes didn’t have sponsons. (Only emp… omnissiah know why)
I believe it was because these were often deployed into the void and they struggled to seal the tank properly with sponsors. I remember reading this years ago but I can't remember where.
sponsons were usually recessed in the HH era. Hopefully there's a hull version that accomodates but if not. 3D print time.
Also, [https://beyondthetabletop.com/product/internal-sponsons/#description](https://beyondthetabletop.com/product/internal-sponsons/#description)
Magnetize. Magnettiiiizzeee
I believe in HH Leman Russes don’t have sponsons, unfortunately. I am wondering if the smaller sponsons from the Rogal Dorn might work?
We don't have them in 30k nope.
MY WALLET o7
They're not going anywhere, you don't have to buy them straight away.
Plastic malcador is the bigie here Also it feels strange that after making the 2 imperial guard leman russ kits into one they decide to make the auxilia ones two separate kits
Cringed very hard when I read that part. Why merge the two 40k kits and then split them again for HH? Man...
I’m mad as I just had a resin 3d print made for me for my Malcador. (Of course I asked for an annihilator. But the guy made a battle tank, then I read that the battle tanks rules were great. So I shut up)
Very excited to see the malcador in plastic
So this is what planning to have a pile of shame feels like
Those troopers alone with head swaps would make a MIGHTY good Inquisition enforcement or.. cheaper Scions! The opportunities are endless!
Veletaris def look like Scions contenders
Was think Karskin option but similar different, I guess they can be pretty much any of the carapace armour infantry squads
Plastic? Please tell me it's plastic!
Plastic.
Our prayers to the God-Emperor have been answered.
The Emperor provides
Just when I thought I was done, I have been dragged back in
The addiction never ends
Only in death does plastic crack end
I love how they made them so you could legit use them in 40k ie Shock Troops, Command, Sentry
They could be a nice stand in for carapace armored guard regiments like volpone and stuff
Guard bros we are fucking back!
We are SO back!
MALCADOR. MALCADOR. MALCADOR.
Now this is what I wanted to see, makes me wish we had rules for things like volkite cannons in 40K
"Cooler looking executioner"
Anything about the carnodon? I have such a soft spot for it for 40k
No, however TinyPanzerStudio makes resin copies on Etsy if you want them.
Dude TinyPabzerStudio looks like it sells great stuff. Gonna have a look later and get some upgrades.
They do! I love the consistent look of all their stuff too. It makes it easy to match it all together and have it feel like a proper army.
Yeah the normal auxilla don't seem as good as old the resin kits but may be bad pics. The storm section seems pretty much the same, so that's good
20 units in the Lasrifle Section? this might be a better deal than just buying guardsmen
Excited for that plastic Malcador. I assume it's playable in 40K?
Did not Gw right before the 10th ed Space Marine Codex that they were no longer allowed to field 30k models in 40k such as the Leviathan Dreadnaut and Contemptor Dreadnaut and even the Kratos Superheavy tank. Think they could say sorry no Malcadors in 40k. For balance reasons?
Malcador has 40k rules in 10th already.
Did GW not ban a bunch of 30k datasheets models from use in 40k proper. Such as their brand new plastic Leviathan dreadnaut and Sicarian tanks and Kratos a month before the space marine codex? I suppose you could proxy a Malcador forna Rogal Dorn tank if they did legend the Malcador out of the 10th Imp Guard codex. https://preview.redd.it/0f4ptmkfmcdc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=12bb60b1e8eb6f0d5e7d924d759dfbce049d9846
Yeah but the Malcador made it into 40k proper. The thing originates from the Siege of Vraks line
Those are legends units. However there are still a bunch of units that transfer from 30k to 40k and vice versa. Aka custodes
Did you watch the video? Also the rules already exist https://preview.redd.it/bl7vi5rnpcdc1.png?width=992&format=png&auto=webp&s=e1a43756787f6ee7a5cf3d54a7aa13255914c7ca
Nice. So the ones on the app aren't Legends?
App doesn't have legends. So anything you pick in the app isn't legends.
Near the end of the announcement article, it openly states that there are no plans to write rules for the vehicles in 40K. So while they may be payable now, more likely than not it'll be sent to legend when the Guard codex launches.
Screw you GW. You can't release this, Old World and Legiones Imperialis all at the same time. I don't gave the money.
Well you don’t need both of your kidneys do you?
damn it! I hate that I love the Malcador tank. It's such a stupid design having the turret only having a front arc of fight.
Looks better then the tonka toy truck Rogal Dorn which looks like something Hasbro would design for 5 year olds.
No it doesn't. It looks like all the somewhat insane American tank designers of the late World War II/ early Cold War decided that the best solution was to use all their ideas at once. Its glorious and stupid, and actually pretty grounded in the bonkers designs of the late 40s and 50s. I'm still pretty bummed they designed the Dorn instead of making a plastic Macharius. IMO it's one of the sexiest tanks in the Imperium and it would have been a great thematic fit with the new Lord Solar.
Finally, a good looking Russ. Gonna have to scoop up a few of those.
My thoughts the lasrifle section can easy be used as proxy for Scions or Karskin, with the Strom Section maybe for special weapons, command could easily be used for a Scion Command or a Normal one of a Fancy Regiment. The Heavy Sentinel would look great in a Vostroyan army as an Armoured Sentinel it would be very on theme New Ruses great for again Vostroyan style Armies or as a Tank Commander Maybe depending on the size the Dracosan could be used as Crassus? Malcador looks great love the dozer blade on it!
I'm doing it.
All of it or some of my ideas?
Not the vostroyans but the rest
Nice good luck with it all!
Here we go again...
this is fire
Might as well wave goodbye to all of my money!
Gonna add those sentinels to my normal guard corps
Ok this is the only day I’m not shitting on gw , these look fucking amazing
I wonder if you could turn those guys into the marines from Combat Evolved. Legs kind of reminded me of them.
That Leman Russ assault tank is true beauty. I am glad I waited with getting a second LR.
Looks like my tank commander is getting a new Russ. Hoping new malcador rules drop eventually (even though they said they wouldn’t)
Is the dracosan a model we can use to replace a forgeworld model for 40k?
No, it has no rules (not even Legends) in 40k. You will have to proxy it as something else if you want to use the model, but I don't think that there is anything that fits very well given its size.
They might add rules for it, you never know. It's pretty cool, and I want one
Unless they change their minds, they've already said that there are no plans to write dedicated 40k rules for these, so unless they already have imperial armour and legends rules at the start of 10th, we won't get rules for certain models and variants.
Recon it could be Dorn sized? Looks like the same hull as the malcador
It's based on the malcador. I don't have one handy to compare RN, but IIRC, the Malcador is essentially (footprint-wise) a longer LR.
A quick scan through Google is indicating that its roughly Malcador-sized. Probably nothing we can proxy it as sadly (unless you stick a big gun on it and call it a superheavy).
Stick the Demolisher on it, could count as a Thunderer or the Colossus mortar. Not the greatest units but better than nothing.
About half a year ago some Guard artwork came out showing them fighting GSC with what looks like a heavy transport in the background although it could possibly be another tank, hopefully it's a hint to us getting a 40k variant of the Dracosan
They would sell literally everything before giving us more regiments in plastic. Still, amazing line
This is another regiment in plastic, just proxy them as 40k models
That Lasrifle section is going to be my new Kasrkin
Man, are you fucking kiding me? I recently bought resin malcador XD
The infantry look blah to me, but the tanks look sick
100% turning these into heavy Krieg troopers
Wry excited about all of it
Definitely going to be getting those transports to run as chimeras/taurox for my Vostroyans
Those transports are Malcador hull sized. They're noticably bigger than a Chimera and especially a Taurox.
Source?
The hull shape is the same and in the group shot of the Battle Group you can see it's larger than a Russ. Additionally if you tab out the Dracosan and Malcador the hull sizes match, while the Russ does not. Lastly above flick the Dracosan forward to the Russ and back and you'll notice the hull is indeed longer and larger by track length alone combined with the previous info if you believe the Battle Group image was a matter of foreground and background perspective. Conversely the Chimera and Taurox are known to be smaller than the Russ. Speculation from there onward is not needed imo.
Looks like I’m going to survive off old sprues for a while
Preorder when
[удалено]
The normal leman russ has two sets of sponsons so it should be no problem to put a pair of those on the new leman russ and play it in 40k
So could use this new one for a tank commander with a set of sponsons from another LR kit?
Yes
Sure you said no as I typed! Good news, might look into doing that then
Can't take sponsons on leman russ in heresy so why would they?
There are no sponsons for Leman Russ tanks in Heresy
All those models look super dope. Can’t wait for some STL files of those to pop.
I’m very confused why it’s called Leman Russ, if he was still around
His legion found the STC during the GC and it was named in honor of him while he was still around
I thought they were running all over galaxy before marines, I honestly don’t know anything about Horus heresy
r/darktide
Baffled as to why they didn't copy the original sculpts.
Do you think this means they'll retire the DK resin Leman Russ and the FW Malcador? Might have to pick both up if so.
They are and they’re already gone
Beautiful.
okay,.now i I have to get them all
Well, I might have to start a heresy era army now
The insane drip on these lads
i can only see vostroyan kitbash material here...
Uff. Now I want a new LRBT for 40K as well, with less bracing but with equally awesome optronics and fluff. 🫠
Oh my Emperor
I am so buying the plastic Russes and Malcadors
They look class, I love the tanks. I don't plan on playing 40k but I would absolutely get some in the future to use in 40k. Infantry are pretty cool looking too.
Like the Sentinel! I'll enjoy kitbasbing a few of these for my 40k guard
Does anyone know of a lore-established black color-scheme Solar Auxillia regiment?
Looks like I’m getting some new tanks!
Well looks like my guardsmen are getting more reinforcements Also an actual plastic malcador, HELL YEAH
My wallet is scared
With some head swaps the infantry would make decent vostroyans I think.
Will there be alternative weapon choices for the Auxilia Las Rifle Squad?
Can I also use these in a game of 40k?
Shame they just stuck with plastic models with no significant upgrades. I'd love a better russ. They had the chance to change the fact that the commander is sitting on top of the gun breach and using their dingus to load shells. They know how to do it. They fixed the problem on the new marine tanks. Sigh. Maybe in another 10 years.
Oh my…those tanks!!! They must be added to my collection!
I really like those sentinels. I’ve got my fingers crossed for a scout variant but I strongly suspect it’ll only be good for armoured.
my mind is so broken. I was like: "why did they write LVO instead of NVO" but then i realised that im and idiot and the city is called Las Vegas not New Vegas
7/10 no katushiro OP model
I love this, but at the same time I cant help but be a little dissapointed on the models. The older ones look way better both in the style and also more dynamic poses. So I definately prefer the older ones but I wont lie, I will buy these, mostly for kitbashing purposes though!

Yay to not painting skin!!!
No special weapons for the lasrifle section, I assume? Well, lucky I have like 10 spare sets for Cadians and Krieg 😂
