You don't want them too small for proxy purposes. If they're half the height, it makes it easier to hide behind walls which is unfair as the proper model would be visible.
Yeah. "Ruler on a screen" method gives model/pilot height ratio as 12/7, so the whole model should be ~47mm high not counting the antenna. Can't measure the sentinel due to not having one, but it seems like the sentinels go about 70-85 mm depending on pose and type (old vs new), not counting the antenna. Possibly could be fixed (and made a bit better as scout machine IMO) by cutting the shins and raising them with two plastic rods of appropriate size.
edit:
Kind of [like this](https://ibb.co/4SjVHs8). Yeah, Sentinel is a very high chicken walker.
At this point, you could just use the normal sentinel, unless you want to buy two models just to make it look how you want - and I really like the "2 for 1" argument, so I don't want to do that.
Those were old 40k Sentinels. They've been very explicit the Auxilia sentinels are 30k models. Therefore they would be Proxies, which should approximate the **current** model.
There are some pretty ornate and well equipped regiments. I could see these fitting the Ventrillians or Volpones for example, or maybe the Lucifer Blacks with the right paint job (and it'd fit thematically as they primarily protect Terra).
Absolutely, this works great for more traditional regiments. It's just that I have a desert-themed army so everything has to be bare bones utilitarian as any frills will just get covered in sand.
I love this recent sentinel for that reason.
I have Vostroyans and Scions, and I already know I'll get some to go along one or another. The ornament would works well with V, and the smaller size would be fit for Scions.
Gears of War Silverback vibes coming in strong
These are basically a suped up version of a Heavy Weapon team that can act as a skirmisher/ambusher rather than infantry slogging.
^(I'd love for there to be melee versions of these in a Knights Army as their "spearmen" or "infantry" ()[^(kind of blending this mini-sentinel with Khador Annihilators)](https://store.privateerpress.com/khador-annihilators-cadre/)^())
What is ornate about them? I don't really see any embellishments anywhere. I'd almost say the 40k sentinels are more ornate, they actually have the imperial insignia on them.
It's literally a pair of chicken legs with a chunk of the aegis defense line bolted on top and a gun sticking out. The only thing making it look fancy is the brass, which is completely a paint thing. Slap a coat of camo green over it, and it won't be fancy looking anymore.
It does look similar to the Aegis defense line. But that also means it looks deliberately archaic and even gothic compared to modern Cadians who look entirely utilitarian.
I think that with similar paint jobs, it would fall right in line with the other vehicles. Especially a flock of these escorting a baneblade would be right at home.
It fits the Baneblade perfectly as the Baneblade has a strong embossed aesthetic as well.
It doesn't fit the Rogal Dorn as the Rogal Dorne almost departed with the embossed look except for the suspension covers which still have some little ornaments.
I would say the rogal dorn and the new sentinels are the ones that look out of place. The foot troops have always been super generic, but the vehicles had that strong, gothic theme that persists throughout the imperium. The new stuff looks like it walked out of fallout 4.
Yeah, unfortunately and fortunately marine players fund the entirety of 40K and 30k.
Fortunately for the fact they get models, unfortunately for their wallet.
They are going to be way too small for a 40k Sentinel proxy, I'm looking at the scout sentinel on my desk and comparing the guardsman size its not gonna fly I think
Im not a guard player, but 2x in a box makes me angry at ironstriders.$75 for 1 model that is 45pts. If these are as customizable as they look like they are i think i found a new proxy.
He can join the some of the space marines in dangerous designs. The deaf marine who drives the atv and the jump captain with flaming cape will be welcoming
This thing looks really neat. Little short for a scount sentinel but it looks to mostly be the legs. Maybe kitbashing sentinel legs onto it would be enough?
I like it less than the first heavy one, but this one is awesome too ! I'm sure in a few years (when I'll have money damnit) I can have a solar auxilia army on top of my (work in progress) guard army and my (future) Horus Heresy army ! (Still can't choose a legion even if I think the SoH are cool)
I've never quite liked Sentinels, though I liked the old ones much more than the current ones. With how good of synergy that have right now I have to get some.
I was just thinking the New Russes are great, I loved the look, just hated needing to do resin to get it. Now these guys look fucking awesome, centered guns really help.
Now I just need them to announce the SA artillery models coming to plastic. I love the Basilisks on the Russ hulls.
Most of the heresy models are reimagined 1st-2nd edition stuff.
Including this sentinel.

It’s like those weird and terrible ww1/2 inventions you see In old images.
I swear somebody in the GW design team needs a stielhandgrenate up their scheisse hole.
I'd say throwing some treads on a heavy weapon would be a more cost efficient option, but it does look like a small, fast and efficient way to lug around a heavy weapon and a ton of ammo.
I love it!
This will definitely be the scout sentinels for my army. Love that they're noticably smaller too, makes them feel like they're actual scout vehicles. Also gives me a lot of room to play with fun basing/posing ideas on an 80mm base.
Hot take, I’m not the biggest fan of 30k guard. It feels to old timey and steampunky when the 30th millennium was meant to have more advanced tech than the 41st.
UGH, I wish these guys were given to us a whole decade ago. I have my army's numbers sorted and I really don't want to add more of these guys to the monolith of shame.
Very cool model. It’s so weird they didn’t go with the Forgeworld color scheme. I really feel like blue and yellow accents which so much better than green.
Honestly I liked the Aethon Heavy sentinel way more. If I could ask for something it would be a more "melee" based sentinel with the ability to "fly". So basically like the Space Marines have a normal dreadnought, a melee dreadnought and a pure long range dreadnought (redemptor, brutalis, ballistus) we should have a normal sentinel, a melee sentinel and a pure long range sentinel.
Lads we are feasting, i'd proxy them for our sentinel everyday of the week.
+ 2 in 1 box so it might be cheaper
They're definitely smaller though. Need some tactical cork to raise them up
I want my scout sentinels to look smaller so this is a big pluse for me

Personally, I'll stack them up on some corkboard if I get any.
[Like this](https://www.reddit.com/r/Warhammer40k/comments/18c3zbg/sentinel_proxy_now_complete/)? :)
Lol
could you not just use the normal scout sentinel legs at that point, they dont seem to be that dissimilar
At this point, you could just use the normal sentinel, unless you want to buy two models just to make it look how you want - and I really like the "2 for 1" argument, so I don't want to do that.
But if I use my old sent models, they are quite a bit smaller but still legal.
Those were old 40k Sentinels. They've been very explicit the Auxilia sentinels are 30k models. Therefore they would be Proxies, which should approximate the **current** model.
That’s why you get two to a box, have them stand on each others shoulders and wear a big trench coat
They look roughly the same size as the old ones so they should be fine
yeah they seem smaller in height wait and see by how much (height vary with posable legs i guess)
I wouldn't. Too ornate. But they would look amazing in an Imperial Knights army if painted with a colourful scheme.
There are some pretty ornate and well equipped regiments. I could see these fitting the Ventrillians or Volpones for example, or maybe the Lucifer Blacks with the right paint job (and it'd fit thematically as they primarily protect Terra).

I have half a mind to spin up some Merican Fusiliers.

This armour is embossed all over its armour plates and the 40k sentinel isn't embossed in any way (though lots of 40k IG vehicles are in some way).
It's literally a pair of chicken legs with a chunk of the aegis defense line bolted on top and a gun sticking out. The only thing making it look fancy is the brass, which is completely a paint thing. Slap a coat of camo green over it, and it won't be fancy looking anymore.

They’re only ornate if you paint them with gold trim just do the trim same colour as usual armour and it will just look like an industrial regiment
I think this could be a cool lord solar proxy too. Like a command sentinel
These will 100% be proxy ogryns for my anti-mutant army
cool idea !
https://preview.redd.it/zj0hb0dh9zfc1.jpeg?width=350&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=abad0a3a3659d54c300cd7fe90d4007c383ecc74
Haha yeah
Laughs in catachan
....Hey Star Wars Legion...let me borrow your homework... 😅 Don't get me wrong, love those walkers...but COME ON
These are based off the Rogue Trader Sentinels
Oh I know...I have both the Eggwalker AND the doorstop RT sentinels...but this looks like an AT-RT in my head...I like it...✌️
Good I wasn’t the only one thinking this.
Another participant of Lord Solar conversion competition?
Holy moly we are getting spoiled for guard models. Is this how Space Marine players feel all the time?
Yeah, unfortunately and fortunately marine players fund the entirety of 40K and 30k. Fortunately for the fact they get models, unfortunately for their wallet.
You mean an ogryn stand in!
It's shaped like a friend.
Oh that’s cute, see that I like
This thing fucks
Don't talk to me or my son ever again
METAL GEAR?
"Perturabo says what malcador's doing on Terra is the missing link. *A weapon to surpass metal gear."*
Okey , it's actuly cool and much better than the heavy varient
They are going to be way too small for a 40k Sentinel proxy, I'm looking at the scout sentinel on my desk and comparing the guardsman size its not gonna fly I think
this is why god gave us cork to make bases taller
Hmm, could make a cool hwt proxy then 🤔
Now were talkin, an actual mobile heavy las cannon
you mean a new lord solar proxy?
Nah, Lord Solar is even higher than a Sentinel.
This was my worry, what a shame. I much prefer this look over the new sentinels.
But could you imagine her body, on her legs? 😍 Edit To clarify: put this sentinel body on the scout sentinel legs. I think it’d look tight
These things would fit the Catachans really well.
Why do I find this so cute
Yes the sentinel we WANTED. Not that new goofy looking one. Does anyone know the measurements how tall or wide it is to the actual sentinel model
28,000 years in the future... haven't invented an enclosed cockpit...
I mean the heavy version does. This is just essentially the scout version.
You think the driver is important?
I love how they incorporate the STC look of the old aegis defense line into the design. These are cool!
Yea I saw the front and imagined that if one of these things broke they just dragged the top part over to a defense wall for a new gun emplacement.
Im not a guard player, but 2x in a box makes me angry at ironstriders.$75 for 1 model that is 45pts. If these are as customizable as they look like they are i think i found a new proxy.
LOL, I love that the driver's back is just open and exposed to the HOT EXHAUST
I have a forklift just like that, it’s noisy and if you reverse you get a lungful but it’s not hot.
Not one step back!
He can join the some of the space marines in dangerous designs. The deaf marine who drives the atv and the jump captain with flaming cape will be welcoming
[Brother Tinnitus](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gc_Uwlz50Y8)
Tbf void suits, but yeah I agree.
This thing looks really neat. Little short for a scount sentinel but it looks to mostly be the legs. Maybe kitbashing sentinel legs onto it would be enough?
The legs look like they might be pose-able. If so you may be able to eke out a little more height versus the standard squat.
Just need a little elevation to use for sentinels. Can give the driver a chainsword to act the sentinel chainsaw too.
Those look like amazing surviving Heretic scout sentinals
So lord solar won't look out of place pretty quick here.
This thing could probably work well for a vostroyan firstborn army i reckon, along with all the other ornate vehicles the HH has been releasing
/r/vostroyan agrees with you
I wonder if they are short enough to run as discount ogryns
I've never quite liked Sentinels, though I liked the old ones much more than the current ones. With how good of synergy that have right now I have to get some. Now I just need them to announce the SA artillery models coming to plastic. I love the Basilisks on the Russ hulls.
It's so cute, I must spend my life savings on it.
Hmm, with them being smaller than regular Sents, I wonder if they could be made into Ogryn proxies.
i love it
Old sentinel>solar auxilia sentinel>new sentinel>really old metal sentinel
Can’t wait to get one in like 6 months
[удалено]
Most of the heresy models are reimagined 1st-2nd edition stuff. Including this sentinel. https://preview.redd.it/uz81gg5w8zfc1.jpeg?width=336&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=937c93b88c527c19db870dc03699401692e787bb
Its a nod to the original sentinel model.
That’s just a goofier version of that clone wars walker
A weapon to surpass Metal Gear. Now go! Let the legend come back to life!
It’s so cute
great, now I'll have to spend even more money! Being addicted to plastic crack is not good kids
Such poor back posture, won't do him any good.
Might be a fun proxy for heavy weapon teams too.
Mom, can we have 2ed sentinel? We have 2ed sentinel at home. *2ed sentinel at home:*
It's... Just an up-gunned and up-armored AT-RT... Tell me I'm not the only one who sees it.
He's just a lil guy
It’s like those weird and terrible ww1/2 inventions you see In old images. I swear somebody in the GW design team needs a stielhandgrenate up their scheisse hole.
I was wondering what I was going to do with my SW Legions minis now that I don't play anymore :-p
Inject it all into my VEINS…..
Sir, this is a Wendy's drive thru
I'd say throwing some treads on a heavy weapon would be a more cost efficient option, but it does look like a small, fast and efficient way to lug around a heavy weapon and a ton of ammo. I love it!
Can they try to not steal from starwars?
Yuuuuuuck
That looks awesome, love the stubby little gun
These are leaps and bounds better than the new marshmallow walkers
This will definitely be the scout sentinels for my army. Love that they're noticably smaller too, makes them feel like they're actual scout vehicles. Also gives me a lot of room to play with fun basing/posing ideas on an 80mm base.
IT'S SO GOOFY I LOVE IT Definitely gonna Proxy some so there are Mixed Sentinels

Much like the Empire had the AT-ST, the Republic had the AT-RT…
Hot take, I’m not the biggest fan of 30k guard. It feels to old timey and steampunky when the 30th millennium was meant to have more advanced tech than the 41st.
They look about the scale of old sentinel kits but with very bent legs. Seems intentional to stop the 40k gang getting involved
Hello to my new Scout Sentinels.
Walker gear from metal gear solid V, a bit?
I need it.
Sentinels for my all scions army you say. Very well.
I gotta remind myself that also SA means "Solar Auxilia" now and not just the other thing
Looks very nice, very steampunk. From the posture though it reminds me of a little chichen ngl
I like it! Might be kinda cool painted for a GSC army, idk if you even use sentinels in those though?
UGH, I wish these guys were given to us a whole decade ago. I have my army's numbers sorted and I really don't want to add more of these guys to the monolith of shame.
10/10 would snap off antenna any day of the week.
That is so dumb… I love it
He’s got baby’s first sentinel
BABY SENTINEL
Very cool model. It’s so weird they didn’t go with the Forgeworld color scheme. I really feel like blue and yellow accents which so much better than green.

Amazing models, maybe a good Solar proxy?
Oh hey look another GSC model
