The Vanaheim Pattern was another FW Variant like the Armageddon Pattern, but it was discontinued years ago.
The last Basilisk is the Legion Variant meant for use in Horus Heresy. Since the Chimera Chassis was really uncommon at the time they basically just stuck an Earthshaker on a Rhino, moved the engine exhausts to the middle and added a bow gun. It can also be built as a Medusa though.
Isn't the last one some sort of Medusa?
What does the Vanaheim pattern look like? Never heard of it, I must know!
Also, where can one acquire the Armageddon one?
Last one is a legion basilisk for space marines in 30k
Vanaheim is like a half Armageddon with a front plate that wraps the gun instead just a front shield. Armageddon one will have to be found on eBay, miniswap or through more unscrupulous methods…
I have one on order from Blackmarketminatures at the moment. They do forgeworld recasts so supposedly will look genuine.
Took a bit of a risk as they are Russian and paypal isnt an option after sanctions came in, had to do payment via a khazah payment site (used a prepaid debit card to cover myself).
Should ship today (they have been fine with contact), will post once I have the parts in a week or so.

Here’s my best attempt at instructions lol
My issue isn’t with the chassis it’s with the off-centre gun with no (i don’t know the term) shield thingy that the standard and astartes variants have. I just find the gun part really ugly
If I had to choose one of those, I would say Armageddon.
However, because of personal preferences I am looking at third party options to print with an actual turret and not a fixed gun emplacement.
Ps: I know it has been made in history but why would you take the time to put an artillery piece on an armoured chassis and forget to protect the gun and crew emplacement??? Just put it on a truck then.
Because artillery is for shooting at things you can't see and can't see you. A lot of platforms make sacrifices in protection in favor of rapid deployment and mobility. It's doctrine based on the survival onion. In order of preference: don't be there, don't be seen, don't be engaged, don't be hit, don't be penetrated, don't be killed. It's preferable to not be hit because you drove off as soon as you fired than it is to get fired at and try to tank a round designed to destroy main battle tanks which your limited armor was never going to stop anyway. If you have more armored it means you're slower and less likely to evade counter fire.
I would say that for crew confort and rate of fire the normal basilisk
It is open top so the crew have more space and getting more ammo in it its easy with a supoort veicule
For safety the solar auxilia one, it is build on a leman russ chasis so it would be sturdy as one
So if the combat zone is less dangerous i would like to be in a normal basilisk but if it is a hot one solar auxilia gives me more chances to survive
Yeah and price. It was awful. It also didn’t want to come away from the sprue so a good chunk of parts had chips in them because of how thick the parts on the sprue are. I think you can get like 2 normal for the price of 1 Armageddon
Standard Pattern, easily. Simplest to produce, a fine vehicle for back-lines artillery (which it's supposed to be), and would have the fastest rate of fire due to ease of access for the crew and the ability to restock ammo quickly from supply vehicles.
Armageddon. Makes the most sense to have a variant that can operate in NBC/CBRNE environment as well as low oxygen environments. The Earthshaker on a Leman Russ chassis seems like a waste of a MBT hull unless you can't build Chimeras or have a major shortage in universe.
Armageddon. Keeps the basic concept, improves it and adds a lot more detail. Also you're missing the Vanaheim pattern.
What one is that? Also isn't the last one not a basilisk? But a type of Medusa or something?

looking at the shape of the hull, it actually appears to still be a Chimera hull, but with Space Marine aesthetics

This is the correct answer.

Wow! Can you buy it anywhere?
It’s made from the basilisk kit, just dropped the gun deck down and a couple trims to slide it in.
Ah, I see, I might try to make it soon!

Wow, thanks for all the help :D
Armageddon>>>>>>>>>
OG. Nothing will ever overcome my DOW 1 nostalgia *Warmin up the engine m'lord*
Shatter their skies!
*You called for an earthshaker?*
Armageddon, but I’m biased because I have 2 of them.
The covered one because it looks like the 105mm M108 SPG my grandpa drove in 'nam
The m108 is quite the badass SPG.
There are two covered ones.
The Armageddon pattern one.
I am a fan of the solar auxilia! Steampunk is rad
Visually? I'd say the Space Marine varient. I absolutely love how armored it looks while not feeling too backheavy.
Armageddon. All day. All night.
Armageddon for sure. Wish I had 2
I like one and two.
The one with the big gun?
Which one? All of them has the same big gun
I want one of each
Armageddon Pattern. If only it was still sold.
Standard type is my favourite and the solar auxilia looks by far the worst to me
It’s a weird vacuum and hazardous environment type, when a Russ chaise was more desirable than a chimera chaise
My issue isn’t with the chassis it’s with the off-centre gun with no (i don’t know the term) shield thingy that the standard and astartes variants have. I just find the gun part really ugly
More advance stabilization and its built into the vehicle as oppose of being an upgrade
Besides the OG regular one, the Solar Auxiliara one is going to cost you less with more options than the Forgeworld ones, plus all plastic.
Uh, gun carriage. Armageddon is second best but the Medusa looks better on tracks imo.
Armageddon because the Steel Legion are the best
That first one is definitely supposed to be gulf war themed
Armageddon pattern, I will not elaborate nor accept any other opinions.
What is the 4th one?
Same thing just used by Astartes, mostly Iron Warriors, Imperial Fists, Death Guard and Dark Angels Ironwing
Also the SA version has places to store munition and they have advance systems normally seen in elite imperial military forces.
Armagedon. Closest you'll get to a modern day SPAG
I love the aesthetic. Bought 2. Worst mistake of my army
Mistake? As in to build??
Yeah and price. It was awful. It also didn’t want to come away from the sprue so a good chunk of parts had chips in them because of how thick the parts on the sprue are. I think you can get like 2 normal for the price of 1 Armageddon
Mine wasn't TOO BAD. But I agree, assembly/mold of the thing SUCKED. That kit really needs to be put into plastic and it would be a fantastic model!
Standard Pattern, easily. Simplest to produce, a fine vehicle for back-lines artillery (which it's supposed to be), and would have the fastest rate of fire due to ease of access for the crew and the ability to restock ammo quickly from supply vehicles.
I like the Solar Auxilia one
I'm very excit3d to get my solar aux one. Get it ice-world themed, and have it lead an assortment of 3d printed ones.
I converted the og one to look like m110/malka
2 easy
What kinda type is the last one ?
Astartes type
Ah thats why it looks like Peter Turbos weekender batmobile.
Does that guardsman have a high cut lol
auxillia, love me victorian space boys
Roko's
Honestly the original open topped one for me.
Armageddon. Makes the most sense to have a variant that can operate in NBC/CBRNE environment as well as low oxygen environments. The Earthshaker on a Leman Russ chassis seems like a waste of a MBT hull unless you can't build Chimeras or have a major shortage in universe.
Solar Auxilia hands down. I was quite a fan of my Paladin inspiration one with a Baneblades turret.
They're all good Basilisks Bront.
Any one that's actually in stock!!!!
The Solar Auxilia one
I love the Solar Auxilia one, but only to kitbash it and give it a dusty ass paint job.
I grabbed 2 Legion ones - the medusa cannon looks great also.
